O Lucifer

It is a mistranslation nowadays when Lucifer is synonymous with Satan, and lucifer as a word or never doesn't appear; an accurate translation would be 'morning star' or 'Venus'. Who nowadays associates lucifer with the morning star?

Venus is going to go to hell? o_O
...Seriously?

The King was being compared to the planet Venus, called the morning star because it is visible in the daytime. It is his haughtiness. G-d will bring him down.

How do you know it was the King being compared to Venus? Jesus talked about a "Satan" and Jesus was a Jew, so clearly the idea of Satan existed in Judaism.

...So how can we be sure it was the King and not Satan?

Because the text itself says G-d is talking about The King of Babylon,

"And you shall bear this parable against the king of Babylon, and you shall say, "How has the dominator ceased, has ceased the haughty one!" - Isaiah 14:4.

I wonder if that King had some associations with the devil. Worse than me.

Lord.... I forgive the guy who took my spot at the DMV. I forgive the guy who miatakenly turned me around for not having enough paperwork, and the second guy who mistakenly turned me around for not having the birth certificate... Because the third lady, who told me I didnt need any of that stuff since I already had a "real ID" was nice to me, even if it did waste so many hours of my only day off this week, from which I am very exhausted.

Also, Lord, you know that when I follow you, and slam and expose the deceiver bad stuff comes my way... I know this is just my fate. Please let that me my punishment instead of hell.

Important IMO, to recognize these desires are not a conscious choice. Part of meditation I think is to not only to quiet the mind but to observe what the unconscious mind is bringing to the table.

While we can't fathom the source of the desire, we can be aware of it as not coming from our conscious self awareness. The unconscious does play tricks on our consciousness. We have to learn to be aware of these tricks. To separate one's conscious will from their desires is difficult, but we each start from wherever we start from. I see it as a challenge to overcome the control of the unconscious mind. And, keeping in mind not all unconscious control is bad. In fact we can train the unconscious mind through repetition and practice. Sometimes it's fun to sit as an conscious observer, allowing the unconscious mind to take over mundane takes as it can react a lot faster then we can consciously.

Consciously we observe, take over and work on corrections, where needed. Step by step, lifetime process.

Nothing, IMO, to beat yourself up over. Wherever you find yourself, make a choice where to go next. Improve yourself, your conscious control over your life, where you see the need and where you can. Everyone stumbles and it is frustrating. However that is where you are and choose to go forward from that.

No sense in getting frustrated over a past you can't change. You can however choose a future. Learn from the past, choose the future. Teach Satan the correct path.

I really liked this post a lot. Thanks Nakosis.

Satan is a personification of the Judaic word ha‑satan meaning Adversary, a figure known as "the satan" first appears in the Tanakh as a heavenly prosecutor, a member of the sons of God subordinate to Yahweh.

Can you show us an iota of evidence? I'm fairly certain Satan and all the other angels, demons, gods and devils are complex archetypes embedded deeply within most of our unconscious minds. It's called Myth and it's a necessary function of the human brain.

Food for thought.

These verse are no doubt fascinating but something overlooked by most and Lucifer is a fallen king on earth. He was not removed from heaven but rose up from earth and kicked down from heaven. His kingdom was on earth in Assyria near Eden. This can be seen by the references of Eden and Assyria being together. See the following.

Isaiah 14 25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. (His land being Eden.)

Ezekiel 28 13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Ezekiel 31 3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.

Ezekiel 31 8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty. 9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

Genesis 2 14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria.

The king mentioned in Isaiah 14 was Lucifer incarnate as human.

Even in modern times the rulers of that area believe themselves to be the another ruler incarnate from the past.

The king of Tyre and the king of Babylon mentioned in Ezekiel and Isaiah are not any different, he was the early Babylon king reincarnate or simply put the fallen angel in human form. Some would describe him a pre-adamic king although I think the term is not necessarily correct.

Hebrews 13 2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Of course. That post is not about them though. It was about translation issues.
Mistranslations and propaganda abound. Many people will reject understanding in favor of the propaganda. A few will look more deeply and understand, but unfortunately, these are few at this time.

The world has nothing to offer us!
If you worship man, and his ideas, then you worship Satan. And you can also worship Satan by worshiping your own fleshly body and mind. When you savor the things of man and the flesh, you do not savor the things of God.

Simply said and true. You either chose side A (God’s) Or B (satan’s) there is no option C and you can’t opt out, then you default to B. The spirit is of God, the world is of satan. There is nothing in the world for us. The world and things of the world are of the devil.

What makes this statement 'true'? There is an option C and most people choose it.
C: There is no god or devil
In addition to choosing option C, many of these people do think there is something this world offers us. It offers us the opportunity to affirm one's self and assert one's individuality which in turn develops and defines one's soul.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, who didst rise in the morning? how art thou fallen to the earth, that didst wound the nations? And thou saidst in thy heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit in the mountain of the covenant, in the sides of the north. I will ascend above the height of the clouds, I will be like the most High. But yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, into the depth of the pit. Jude 1

Satan was originally Lucifer or the morning star. Morning is symbolic of the conscious mind and night is the unconscious mind. The morning star is Venus. This star in consciousness, is based on Venus or desire, but in a general sense; motivation and dream. The America dream is a desire; morning star. This drive was good for civilization and advancement. Lucifer evolves over time and becomes Satan, who then further evolves over time and becomes the Devil. It is the same principle of consciousness, but as it advances with time; desire to law to lawless compulsion.

In Revelations, Satan is thrown from Heaven. In the Old Testament Satan was a welcome part of heaven. Satan was God's left hand man in the Old Testament. Satan was in paradise. He was placed in charge of the earth and humans after the fall from Paradise, similar to how a CEO leads a company, but reports to a board of directors; God and Heaven. The lament above is the CEO did not do his job well, leading to him being dispatched from Heaven; your fired! Jude anticipated the change in the Satan principle.

The problem for humanity, after the fall from Heaven; Revelations, was although Satan was thrown from Heaven and loses his role as Old Testament CEO of the earth, nobody on the board of directors told the employees; humans. Although this was announced by Jesus.

Satan, after being cast from Heaven, is sort of like a CEO, who is finishing his contract, but it will not get renewed. But since he is still there, making the calls like before, the employee continue to follow his lead, like the days of old, even though this is no linger fully sanctioned by God. Jesus tries to explain, but the old ways continue to persist. This is no longer the Old Testaments Satan, where God had oversight. Now Satan has gone renegade, but most humans cannot yet see.

The deposed CEO Satan is angry; great wrath and out to sabotage. Much of Revelations is about the Sabotage created by the deposed CEO Satan. This change evolves Satan, into the Devil and Hades becomes Hell. Devil is part of the New Testament. Satan is no longer attached to God and Heaven. The New CEO from heaven is now Jesus.

The historical problem is there is not much in the way of prophesy after Revelations. The employees of the company called earth, are not fully made aware of the change in CEO accept at the beginning. The old way continues, fire and brimstone, such as war and dominance, which is no longer sanctioned by Heaven. Satan deceives the world, while God sits back and waits for the humans to figure it out for themselves. The human get personal revelations from the Holy Spirit. But Satan beats this back over and over. The evil rule and the good are at a disadvantage waiting for the new CEO to appear among them.

No. There are two gods.

One God and one god. The second one is a liar.

The capital G version, according to the good book is responsible for an estimated 2 million + deaths

The little g version according to the good book is responsible for 10

Never mind liars, how about stone cold genocidal maniacs?

Lucifer has nothing to do with the Christian bible other than being used as an adjective for the many (mis)understandings of the Morning Star/Day Star. St. Jerome misunderstood the meaning of the Hebrew word 'heylel', and translated it into "Lucifer", the Latin word meaning "light bearer" (from the Latin lux "light" and ferre "to bear or bring"). The word Lucifer at the time of the Vulgate and even at the time of the KJV translation, meant "morning star" or "day star" in reference to Venus. Jerome thought the passage was referring to Satan in addition to the king of Babylon, and because of this, the use of the word "Lucifer" made the transition from a term referring to Venus and the Morning Star to also refer to the Abrahamic Satan.

Lucifer the Roman-Greco deity is mentioned in Publius Ovidius Naso's "Metamorphoses", which was written in 8 B.C.E., the Roman poet Virgil mentions him as far back as 29 B.C.E. And the first mention is from Timaeus by Plato in 360 B.C.E. This Lucifer is also portrayed as a Lunar deity unlike his usual association with Venus.

I believe the first definition of Lucifer is another name for Satan and the second is lucifer (uncapitilized) Venus the morning star or bringer of light. Lucifer was the name of the angel God’s favorite angel before he fell. He then became Satan; prince of darkness.
