In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Selah. Hail Jah Rastafari!

Blessed Greetings everyone. Late last night, I was meditating on The Holy Bible and on Jesus Christ when I began to connect the dots of His Return to the Coming of Haile Selassie I.

(Something important to consider: different Rastas will have different understandings of who exactly Haile Selassie I is.)

In the Book of Revelation, Christ will return as an earthly ruler, and His Titles will be King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Root of David. There are so many individuals who have claimed to be Christ Returned, or of whom this is said. Only one of them possessed these titles: Emperor Haile Selassie I.

When I encountered this claim with Bahá’u’lláh, it never made truly sense to me. Bahá’u’lláh was not a king or a ruler of any sort. Haile Selassie was the Emperor of Ethiopia. This doubt was only furthered by the fact that Bahá’í teachings do not conform to fundamental Christian teachings such as the Trinity and the bodily resurrection of Christ, but rather these are denied. At least, if any person will claim to be Jesus Christ returned, their life and teaching would conform 100% to what He taught. Haile Selassie’s Life and Teachings do (even absent of any claim of being Christ returned). 100%. Many times, He is recorded as having referred to Jesus Christ as “Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”, stressing the importance of sincerely believing in the Gospel.

Thusly, I understand that it’s more fitting to be a Rasta than to have been a Bahá’í, coming from my being brought up as a devout Christian. Between the two of these, I am convinced that Haile Selassie I is far more likely to be Christ Returned in His Kingly Character than Bahá’u’lláh is. With this said, I harbor no ill will towards him or his followers in any regard. Peace and Blessings.

He defied the Italian colonial invasion in the 1930s. He ruled until 1974-75. Something weird about his death.. His body wasn't found for 25 years buried under a toilet in the Imperial Palace .. He was overthrown by Marxists. Good man, but why would you think he was divine?

Because if He’s Christ Returned, He is divine. Jesus Christ is divine. I suppose it has to do with this. As I said in the OP, though, not all Rastas believe in Him as divine.

There's no evidence for Solomon much less the unnamed Queen of Sheba or Menelik.

I suppose you’re right that there’s no physical evidence. However, there is a book documenting the entire history of the Solomonic Dynasty called the Kebra Nagast.

I know all the stories about Menelik, Solomon, the scribes, the Arc of the Covenantet, but where is Menelik mentioned in the Bible?

The Kebra Nagast is a 14th-century account written in Geʽez, an ancient South Semitic language that originated in modern-day Ethiopia and Eritrea. Wallis Budge, an English Egyptologist, Orientalist, and philologist who worked for the British Museum created an English translation called The Glory of the Kings. It is considered to hold the genealogy of the Solomonic dynasty, which followed the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

Menelik I was born after the Queen of Sheba went back to Ethiopia, but this is not recorded in The Holy Bible.

Its not recorded anywhere until the 14th century AD and then looks like a compendium of inflated myths. That's 2000 years after Solomon who wasn't all that grand or successful. King Omri built everything attributed to Solomon.

I’m not sure about that, but even so, just because something wasn’t written down until after the events they describe does not necessarily mean that those events didn’t occur.

Blessed Greetings everyone. Late last night, I was meditating on The Holy Bible and on Jesus Christ when I began to connect the dots of His Return to the Coming of Haile Selassie I.

If that is the case, then I'm afraid you need more Bible study.
The return of Christ is not in mortal physical form.

The main difference of course is that God did not give Haile Selassie these titles. The returned Jesus Christ is a powerful spirit king who returns with his angelic forces to cleanse the earth of wickedness, once and for all. He was never going to be a mortal human who lived and died a second time as Bahá’u’lláh and Haile Selassie were, with no cleansing of this earth and no improvement in man's treatment of his home and fellow man.

Fundamental Christian teachings that promote a trinity or a bodily resurrection of Jesus fly in the face of scripture. There is no trinity in the Bible and the resurrection of Jesus was not a physical resurrection. Jesus was raised as a spirit who materialised human form in order to encourage his disciples for 40 days after his resurrection. (1 Peter 3:18) Christ cannot die twice. He never said he was coming again in the flesh.

If we had to rely on mere claims to be "Christian" then that would include the Jim Jones's and the David Koresh's of this world....it's about your actions in obedience to Christ's teachings, not your claims.

Thusly, I understand that it’s more fitting to be a Rasta than to have been a Bahá’í, coming from my being brought up as a devout Christian.

What you ultimately decide to "be" is up to you....but at least do some deeper research so that you understand your options. I am so sick of hearing people ditch "Christianity" because of what Christendom teaches.......Christendom is hopelessly corrupted and has never taught Biblical truth from its inception. Jesus warned about this.....but the churches pretend that he didn't....and their divided state proves that they do not have God's spirit or his blessing. (1 Corinthians 1:10)

Between the two of these, I am convinced that Haile Selassie I is far more likely to be Christ Returned in His Kingly Character than Bahá’u’lláh is.

I am convinced that when Christ does finally return to judge the world, we will all know about it. (1 Thessalonians 1:6-8; Revelation 1:7) He is at this moment directing the greatest preaching campaign the world has ever seen, in preparation for that day when he will separate the sheep from the goats. He knows which category we are in, but perhaps we do not. (Matthew 7:21-23)

Moses nor Jesus Christ were ever a King. The theology of the Baha'i Faith is more in line with traditional Judaism concerning the absolute Monotheistic nature of God. I see no reason that the Baha'i Faith would conform to traditional Roman Christianity.

I’m not sure about that, but even so, just because something wasn’t written down until after the events they describe does not necessarily mean that those events didn’t occur.

It highly unlikely.. Solomon wasn't rich. He didn't have copper mines or gold mines or a navy.. ALL of that is invention. He didn't have 4,000 or 40,000 horses.. Its a grandiose fiction.

The next period Geva considers is the period of the United Monarchy, the time of King David and King Solomon and a couple centuries thereafter (1000 B.C.E. down to about the eighth century B.C.E.).

In David’s time, the borders of the city did not change from the previous period. However, King Solomon expanded the confines of the city northward to include the Temple Mount.

This increased the size of the city to about 40 acres, but the increase in population was not proportionate since much of this expansion was taken up with the Temple and royal buildings. “It is likely that Jerusalem attracted new inhabitants of different social classes,” Geva tells us. “Some of these people came to reside in the city as a consequence of their official and religious capacities, while others came to seek a livelihood in its developing economy.” Geva estimates the population of the city at this time at about 2,000. (Previously, other scholars had estimated the number of people living in the city at this time as 2,000, 2,500 or 4,500–5,000.)

If you think Haile Salassie is the return of Jesus, why not convert to his Ethiopian Orthodox religion? Because he never said he was the return of Jesus, a prophet or Messiah and remained in that religion all his life.

Also, do you support black nationalism, patriarchal gender roles and homophobia?

One of the reasons the Jews rejected Jesus was because He did not meet their expectations of the Messiah or Christ. They expected one who would unite them and defeat their enemies as King David had. Jesus was no worldly king in that sense. Instead He became the King of peoples hearts and the focal point for their adoration.
