Fundamentalism in Christianity

I vote: yes.

Fundamentalist Christianity excludes all other spiritual paths as false. I do not see how someone who believes their way is correct and all other ways are wrong can serve ALL.

edit: On the other hand, perhaps a Fundamentalist would say, " I do not want to serve ALL ". I believe they have the choice to serve: ALL, some, One, or none without criticism.
Of course we believe Christianity is the one true faith, Christ said it was.

He also said that followers of The Way were to serve their neighbors whoever they are.

So, what evidence do you have that we accept the first and ignore the second ?

Since we are playing the big lump´em together game, where the accepted stereotypes and myths come out, and apply to everyone in the group, I want evidence true for at least one million of us.

Not in the least.

All fundamentalism means is that we accept the fundamental pillars of the faith laid down over 2,000 years ago.

Non fundamentalists treat Christian fundamentals like a lump of silly putty. They can tear pieces off and throw them away, and they can shape and mold it till it looks exactly like they want it. to look.

the fundamentals were given, a new commandment to love one another as i loved you. there was no commandment to show preferential treatment to anyone. justifying one's religion above one's actions is exactly what the pharisees did and they were the fundamentalists of their day. jesus referred to such people as.............hypocrites

Yep, followers of The Way, true Christians, interchangeable.

Like twigs and all that?

Did you ever know a female named Stanley Hutchinson? She would be in her early 70s.

She was deeply involved by the early 1970s.

So, you are alleging that we give preferential treatment, to whom ?

You made an allegation, prove it, or if you can´t you have an opinion and I think you know the stories about those.

No, the Pharisees were not fundamentalists, if they were, they would have recognized the Messiah.

You got the accusatory buzzwords in, hypocrite, pharisee, but you have supported your allegations with jack.

the WAY is not christian. jesus never made that claim. he referred to the WAY as very narrow. he never referred to it as jewish either.

Never heard of her. I was not an Evangelical in the 70ś , I was a Seventh Day Adventist, who in their way are fundamentalists.

to yourselves. self-satisfied, self-serving, self-edifying.

jesus gave to all that came to him and didn't serve just his own. why do you think the pharisees generally despised him?

he didn't play by the rules of fundamentalism.

Don´t display your ignorance this way.

The earliest Christians called themselves the Followers of The Way.

Christ said I AM THE WAY, the truth, and the life......................................

Matt 23:11-Matt 23:33 KJV But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. But woe unto you, fundamentalists, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe unto you, fundamentalists, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer:therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Woe unto you, fundamentalists, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by…

Sigh, no if He said He was the Way, He is the Way.

Does your judging go back 2,000 years ? Amazing.

when one is loving one is godly, child of god, the way the truth and the light.

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.

That proves nothing about anyone, except the pharisees.

Don´t you know that when you quote the Bible you are to give what translation you are using ? Especially when it, or you, adds words that were never in the original Koine Greek ?
