In 1 Samuel 9:9 it says God's people just to be called seers. But in Isaiah 29:10.It says people that weren't listening to God were seers.Why?.

Two works written by two different people with different views, included in a single anthology by an ecumenical council at some point.
This shouldn't be any surprise. The Bible's not the work of a single author. It's full of contradictions.

It wanted a second opinion.About the verses.Based on the verses alone.
Leov is 100% correct. Since the two verses do not use the same words in Hebrew, they do not contradict each other.

Take a look for yourself:

Actually, "seers" were the prophets of that time who spoke on behalf of God.

The anointing to rule was distributed into three different categories...

Prophets, - who gave direction from God
Kings - who ruled
Priests - who did the priestly duties.

So, a Seer sought God for direction for Kings and sometimes declared God's judgments.

For Christians, since the Holy Spirit now abides in us, the office of prophets has changed since the Holy Spirit now can speak to us directly.

What is your take on both bible quotes?Just by reading them back to back?Without the Lexicon?
ancient people were able to connect to spirit world much easier than today. Many had eye opened, many believed in their abilities, no atheist folk.

A prophet is a person regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God... Also a keen observer of political currents.. one who reminds the people of the universal truths. There were schools for prophets from the time of Samuel.

IMO.. its tricky.. Even today there are "schools for prophets"... They are charlatans and will take your money.. Think Trump University.

Why do you say so?

Shaman's and witch doctors have always promoted the "spirits" or even identification with animal totems... so a person might be cunning as a fox or brave as a bear. I think such rituals serve to soothe and calm or encourage people.

I have experience with what I call reality of spiritual world, so, I do not agree, modern people on average are much less sensitive than ancient, even those who followed shamans had their own experience too.

Different types of seers/prophets. The prophets/seers of God are commissioned by God Himself and sent to the people to proclaim the truth. But the prophets/seers that are appointed by other people or just assume that title themselves are not necessarily true prophets/seers.

In those days many people made themselves prophets/seers for profit (And they still do btw).

Didn't know whether to give you a Like, an Informative, or a Winner on this. But that is just such a nice, concise statement of obvious fact it has to be recognized somehow.
