Why the religious community look down on a woman showing cleavage.

Why is it that if a woman shows some (ok, in my case a lot) of cleavage she is considered to be a ****. Why is showing what God has given (yes mine are God given) a woman looked at as such a bad thing. I have had larger than normal boobs since my teens so believe me I have hear all of the comments so feel free to speak openly. Have a great Saturday night and I hope to hear from you.

Personally, I don't mind seeing cleavage. But viewing it does create a brief change in my thought patterns due to my primal instincts. I might even do different things than I normally would, such as being extra nice to a woman showing cleavage or racing to hold a door for her.

...Crazy how what I see can change how I think.

Well, hello to you and your two endowments. :D Welcome to RF. Nice of the three of you to join us.....LOL

Judging by your avatar, it appears as if you don't mind showing them off either.....:p You would be the envy of many women these days I think. Lots of women undergo painful surgery to enhance their breasts to that size, I assume in the hope of attracting a man. Seriously, if that is all that attracts them, I fear for the value of the relationship.

So why do women have boobs? For breastfeeding primarily....and as something that feminizes the female form that is apparently appealing to the male of the species.

From a Christian perspective, the human breast is used in the Scriptures to denote closeness, intimacy, and favor; (Song of Solomon 1:13; John 21:20) maturity; (Song of Solomon 8:8) beauty; (Song of Solomon 4:5; Song of Solomon 3:7-8)...so why would exposing a good bit of cleavage be a problem for some people? My guess is that some women would see their husbands/boyfriends ogling your endowments and assuming what thoughts would be engendered by that view. Breasts have always been seen as part of a woman's sexual attraction. The more that is exposed, the bigger the attraction I believe.

Modesty is recommended for Christian women, so whatever your religious persuasion (or lack of it) is, I guess that would modify what you would choose to wear. Just because you were born that way doesn't mean that you have to flaunt them....or draw attention to them.....does it?

Does your husband/partner get upset when other men ogle you? (as they would) and are you really surprised?

I did have a good Saturday but its Sunday evening now where I am.

Nice chatting.....

thanks so much for the thoughtful reply. My husband does not have an issue with what I wear or if anyone looks as I don't have an issue with who he looks at.

Welcome to RF, you wild and crazy guys.

Why do women wear low cut tops to begin with, or 'topless' shoes, for that matter? They're clearly not practical. Men don't wear them. I assume they're just worn to tease or entice. Of course, it's this teasing in the face of a tabu about complete exposure that sexualizes breasts in the first place.
Me. I prefer either a functional top or no top at all.

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
I would say it is because of temptation, as a religious person one should let go of the temptation to many things, also when it comes to sensual pleasure (seeing is temptation) And when a woman show a lot it feels very uncomfortable to those who are serious in the cultivation of their religious path.

I suppose I wear low cut tops because I can't go topless LOL My husband said I should go topless on this thread and I said if he goes naked on here that I would LOL

I'd have to disagree. All mammals breastfeed, but hominins are the only mammals with actual breasts. This leads me to believe they're a secondary sex feature, like noses.
Secondary sexual features are common in primates.
Breasts have always been seen as part of a woman's sexual attraction. The more that is exposed, the bigger the attraction I believe.
This is relatively recent, culturally, and is culturally variable even today.
What is seen as improper varies. Arabs cover both their breasts, legs and hair for modesty. Americans used to cover their legs and arms, but this is no longer required for modesty. In the Caroline islands it was always normal for both sexes to be topless, but exposing ones thighs was (is) considered lewd and improper.

Modesty is in the eye of the beholder, and has to be taught. What's immodest in one culture is modest in another. Who's to decide?

The religious community (Christianity) in the USA has a real hang up with anything having to do with sex, which principally takes the form of judgements. I believe it picks this up from the Bible, which itself is inordinately concerned with sexual issues. Why? Who knows. In any case, I believe it's this Christian attitude that has set the tone for the rest of the nation, steering it toward a sneering bias against anything that appears in the least sexual, which can be as innocuous as length of a skirt's hemline. I chalk it up to small mindedness. And if the "violation" is dramatic, such as cleavage, they may even vocalize their disapproval. And in some cases, even pass laws forbidding certain behavior---females going topless in public comes to mind. If you're getting less than flattering or even unkind comments from others---I assume the bulk comes from other women---just ask yourself "Why am I caring what they think?" Only you can validate their comments. So, whether you're simply dressed or dressing to show off your boobs, that's your prerogative, and you owe no one an explanation. Be your own woman and enjoy life on your terms. And if you hear anyone say anything uncomplimentary about your appearance, a friendly, direct smile is usually the best retort.

Just as an aside.
When I dated in high school I went with a girl who, like her two sisters, had larger than normal boobs carried on a somewhat slim frame. I'm not sure what went into their psychological make up, but all three had a very healthy attitude toward their ample boobs---they never tried to make them look smaller---plus they never let the remarks of others bother them one wit. I suspect their mother, who was also well endowed, had a lot to do with shaping their attitudes. Smart mother. Lucky girls.

are you agreeing with my husband and I should go fully exposed LOL
Well you do you. I grew up around nudists, so I’m probably more prone to shrug it off than most lol
But I don’t know the rules on this particular forum regarding such ventures

ok everyone, this is her husband and as you can see I have stripped down and have gone full body naked on here. I guess I will either get a lot of grief or "high fives" either way, I have done my part of the dare so I think it is now my wifes turn to expose those huge tits. Well I guess my naked picture is now out there on the internet for everyone to see so I may as well sit back and enjoy it. Come on everyone give me some feedbackView attachment 29368
