Science In The Bible

IT MOVES.........AND YET, IT'S STABLE!

How is that? :)

Clearly, what you think it means, is not what it means!

Not only does the statement clearly says it, "cannot be moved, will not be moved"........but the earth is moving (which contradicts what you think it means)! Therefore, it doesn't mean that the earth stands still.

Science (without meaning to, may I add ), gave the explanation for that verse by its discovery!

That's the referral to earth's set course! It's stable in its course!
It clearly says it cannot be moved. Yet, in fact, It does move. So the Bible is wrong.

A line in Job 26 stated a simple statement that describes how the earth is seated in the cosmos. Suspended over nothing.

Believe what you want.
And the Bible also says that the Earth is flat. You are simply reinterpreting the Bible after the fact and not interpreting correctly the parts that are clearly wrong.

I've explained many times that for many parts of the Bible, we cannot know what words in the Bible are figures of speech or poetic writings, we don't know what can take literally in a lot of cases.........unless science reaffirms them.

Okay, let me help you for the last time:

The Bible is a mixture of non-fiction, fiction, poetry, analogies, Parables, and it uses so many kinds of figures of speech!

That there are numerous statements that are found to be scientifically correct - thousands of years after they were written - is the point of this topic.
Not the so-called "errors!"

The Bible is not meant to be a scientific book, it's not making any scientific statement - therefore there are no scientific errors!

Explanation can't get any simpler than that.
If you still can't grasp it..........what more can I say?
Sorry. You're on your own.

Now you are playing "Heads I win, tails you lost". Just because you can reinterpret something after the fact does not mean that there is any science in the Bible. And just because you can flap your arms wildly does not mean that the Bible is not clearly wrong at times. If you want to claim that there are things that are scientifically true, then you have to own up to the errors.

It is best to leave the science to the scientists and admit that the writers of the Bible had no clue and treated various myths such as the creation myth, that Noah's Ark myth, the Tower of Babel myth and the Exodus myth as if they were true. You could claim that those stories still work if you treat them as morality tales. But if yo claim there is "science" in the Bible you have to own up to the errors as well.

Okay. Thanks for your opinion.

Bye.
