If people could give away unwanted pregnancies to people who did want them, abortion wouldn't be a thing.

What a wonderful thing it would be if we could transplant an aborted embryo into a warm loving womb, knowing that the little human would be welcomed and loved.

Surrogacy is so big in some countries now, it is helping the poor to afford housing in many places like India.

In ancient Israel it was quite acceptable to use surrogacy to provide heirs for a man who had property, either because his wife could not conceive or because he had only daughters. Of course it was done the old fashioned way because they did not have the medical technology we have today. It was accepted at the time and God made laws to protect the women and children in such an arrangement. I believe also that men commonly died at a young age so the available males could have more than one wife. It was a protection for the women who did not really have the option to fend for themselves. It gave them a home and family.

Who cares what the law of the land says?

Another law abiding citizen.

If something contravenes the law of God, then I obey the latter.

Sounds like something ISIS would say.

A robot with appendages is not a living being. It has no heartbeat or conscience, its just a machine. It has no intelligence that is not programmed into it by is maker.

That is not the point. The point I made was in response to yours calling a fetus a person highlighting that it had hands, fingers, toes etc. My response thereafter was to highlight that just because something contains characteristics of a thing doesn't necessarily make it that thing hence my example with the robot with appendages.

That would be up to her parents

The scenario is MY daughter.

Do we penalize the child because of who its father is?

So you're advocating traumatizing my daughter twice? Once for the rape, twice for having her endure 9 months of non-consensual sex that leads to birthing a child? You're very sick if you believe this.

I'm afraid I have qualms about abortion...period.

The method of aborting early term pregnancies often involves vacuum aspiration....a rather barbaric procedure that tears a tiny fetus limb from limb.....

Sorry for the graphic nature of the pictures but it is what it is.....

This is a nine week fetus...it is 100% human.

And this is what a nine week vacuum aborted fetus looks like.

Is this what we do to unwanted babies? Where is the humanity?

I have mixed feelings about aborted 9 week old human fetuses. I'm sad they've been deprived of their development into a conscious being. However, I take comfort in knowing an aborted 9 week old fetus didn't suffer.

Says who?
The mother if she so chooses. Will people face it? The fetus is living in a symbiotic relationship to its mother (often at her expense and harm. It is solely dependent upon her and her alone, it cannot live apart from her at the fetal stage therefore it is not an individual and she alone has a say whether or not that fetus is a person or an individual

"Murder" is a legal term, thus in a country whereas abortion is legal it cannot be declared to be "murder".

Also, under halacha (Jewish Law), affecting a woman to miscarry was punishable by a fine, not stoning.

Because it is a separate entity, if it wasn't for the protection of the trophoblast cells, it would be attacked by her immune system as a foreign body. The cells stop it from being identified as a foreign invader.

Huh? :p The body's attempt to get rid of the foreign entity is proof that it is not part of her body, otherwise it would not be rejected.....Capiche?

Is it like a virus living off of a host?

I doubt trees sense pain the same way as a well-developed fetus. Also, unlike, humans. there are trillions of trees of which most can easily be replenished.
But trees are actually good for the environment.

And no tree had ever farted in an elevator.

I like trees. People are more hit and miss.

Tell that to someone who has been charged with murder for turning off life support on a coma patient.

The question under discussion here is, when it comes right down to it, WHETHER a fetus is an individual human, and how that decision is arrived at.

"Because we say so" isn't a good enough explanation. For either side.
