Will these three quotes be linked together in the historical record?

History will be the judge as they say. But I am impressed by the fact that the whole point of Trump’s orchestrated tantrum was to try to stop the investigations. He was actually doing a cover-up as he was saying “I don’t do cover-ups”. That is impressive.

It's too bad Yogi Berra never entered politics. If he was in the White House, we'd have a gold mine of quotable quotes.

To be honest George W. Bush wasn't that much different.

A selection:

"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

"Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"

"You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test."

"I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace."

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

The last one tells you more about the role of government than I think anything I've ever read.

WWMRD?
Not sure if this is true or not but I think if true Lyndon B. Johnson's got them all beat.

When asked by a reporter why the U.S. was involved in Vietnam LBJ unzipped his pants, pulled out his penis and said
"This is why!"

He also supposedly defecated on some proposal he was handed.

I think Nixon wins because "I am not a crook." has more drama per word.
It's made more compelling by Nixon's voice & appearance. Note that as
a child, Billy West (Futurama voice actor) thought Nixon was turning into
a werewolf during the Kennedy debate....the sweating, 5 o'clock shadow.
And so we hear a lupine sounding Nixon....
In your mind, hear "I am not a crook!" in that voice.
It's a winner.

I demand evidence.
(It's too good to be true.)

So she said something stupid. The current criminal in the white house says utterly stupid things all the time. How about quoting 10 stupid things he's said. Or utter lies.
Always the Hillary apologist, eh.
The thread is about what outrageous quotes will endure.
Perhaps Trump is so prolific that no single one will ever emerge.

Even if he was one of the worst presidents, Nixon was definitely one of the better speakers. The tone, pitch, inflections - somehow always seemed to get people's attentions. Reagan was the Great Communicator, and was generally affable with a certain grandfatherly charm. But Nixon had a stern seriousness in his voice.

I'm guessing they wouldn't disagree with you.

You are right about that. Totalitarians hate people like me and wouldn't mind if I died at all. Once less obstacle in their way.

I doubt they'd notice to be honest...I'm pretty sure my passing will pass with neither fanfare nor wailing...we're really not that important you know - that's why were discussing it here on RF and not in Congress or Parliament.

I disagree. Congress has to listen to its citizens, people like us. When we discuss ideas amongst ourselves and come up with a consensus we take that idea to Congress where hopefully it can become law and/or the idea become realized.

While all these tiny proxy wars (I call it culture war), may seem insignificant at face value. They add to a much larger conversation. That will inevitably effect everyone to some degree. That's the beauty of the system, even if it is a giant p.i.t.a to have to suffer and deal with people you disagree with.
