Do American States with More Religious or Conservative Populations Search More for Sexual Content on Google?

Interesting research on the areas of the country that tend to view and/or download and/or make more homemade porn videos.

Of course they do. Religious people make up the majority of the population. Only 25% (roughly) of the population are non-religious. So yeah of course they are going statisticly have higher numbers because there is more of them.

Not a particularly insightful revelation.

It is when porn is considered a big naughty no-no by religious conservatives.

Nah only to butt hurt libs sitting on their high horse trying to guilt trip everyone. Don't care, I'll just dismiss it like any other veiled attack.

This is a per capita number, not a straight count.

Oh, FFS. How is it a "veiled attack"? Religious conservatives have always denounced pornography, so them engaging in something they've openly criticized as sinful degeneracy of course raises eyebrows. Also, aside from a few feminists, why would "libs" be "butthurt" over porn?

Don't be so defensive, though. No one here is judging you for wanking to some dirty pics.

It's still a nothing burger of an issue.

130,000 homeless people in California.

"Hey let's use time and money to research who is looking at porn."

Great job!

No one said that it was an "issue", but rather an interesting observation (wouldn't you find it peculiar if it turned out that the biggest consumers of steak was vegans?). For a "nothing burger" you're getting awfully riled up over it.

What is there to be defensive about? It's a natural part of human nature. Wouldn't you agree?

But trying to shame people doesn't work jic you've forgotten already.

Not riled up at all. Your reading into it too much.

As far as Vegans go. Not much can surprise me these days. Hardly anyone is honest and upfront. Just about everyone is a liar and hypocrite these days.

Of course.

This has nothing to do with judging or shaming. However, when people denounce something openly but then partake in it privately - especially in such large numbers - it raises a lot of questions about their convictions. It's an interesting observation in regards to psychology and human behavior.

A lot of it is to do with herd mentality and tribalism. Let's take John Doe for example. He watches porn, but he goes to church etc. Well if his church gets all up in arms about porn he will go with the herd vs going against it. Or else be cast out for not adhering to the group think. That's a hypothetical situation btw.

And that I believe is what happening here based on the actual limited data provided in the article.

You have a small % of religious folk that openly condemn porn, due to the herd, but privately support/consume it. That's why this shows up. Imo
