Pro-Life by most really mean Pro-Birth

Consider a one hour old fetus. That is just a bunch of cells.

A bunch of cells is not a baby. After one hour of conception you would not be able to differentiate that bunch from the bunch of cells of an amoeba.

I agree totally. After the first trimester, a baby is a baby

I like having rights. I also think that killing a baby
is really an awful thing to do.

At this point in history, there is no good solution
to this problem. That is the essence of a dilema.

Maybe some day it will no longer be an issue,
only those wanting a baby will be get pregnant,
and any children born will be raised healthy
and strong.

Then they will look back and shake their heads
at the sickening barbarity of the used to be.
As it happens, I am very much pro life. Life is a GOOD THING, and I have mostly enjoyed mine. Had abortion been easy to come by in 1947, when I was conceived, it's very possible I might not have enjoyed the life I have, since I was the illegitimate son of a man who never saw his baby's face, and a mother who was just 15 and a bit of an emotional mess. (I think the Salvation Army for the help they gave her, by the way, through a female member of that group know to me only as "Major Allen." The second names of my mother's first four children, me first, was Allen, Allen, Allen and Alice.)

As glad as I am at how things turned out for me, and remembering that my conception was conceptual, since my mother thought my father the "most beautiful boy I'd ever seen," (obviously something he didn't share genetically with me!), I still cannot turn my statement that I am "pro life" into a blanket denial of women who, for their own reasons, which I can never fully understand, urgently and passionately desire a termination of their pregnancy. And it is not my place to ask the reason!

I am on your side in hoping that girls who want to get pregnant will, and those who do not wish it won't. But there's a way to go before we get there, and it has to begin, it can only begin, when we lose our shame and fear about all things sexual, and start teaching our children the joys and responsibilities available to them through their own bodies.

Why is killing someone illegal on the street, but killing an unborn child should be allowed? can the unborn child defend it self?
Once again, a completely emotional plea, and the refusal to admit that we may not yet be talking about a "child." Tell me, what mother would embrace this (at only about 1/4 inch long), and how long would it survive to enjoy that embrace?

No, not really, unless you think that some portion of society has the absolute right to decide who lives and who dies,

“And since we all came from a woman, got our name from a woman, and our game from a woman. I wonder why we take from our women, why we rape our women, do we hate our women? I think it’s time to kill for our women, time to heal our women, be real to our women. And if we don’t we’ll have a race of babies, that will hate the ladies, that make the babies. And since a man can’t make one, he has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one.”

There is a tremendous difference in the two meanings. The diffetence is seen after the birth occurs and into childhood. The politicians are getting closer to the Death Penalty for abortion providers and some states have jail time on the books for the woman getting the abortion.
Look closer at how these states allocate funds for those born into poverty. It pretty much says it all.

The Jewish religious leaders in the time of Jesus who behaved the same way as our Republican politicians of today, also clocked their evil behaviour in righteousness.

It also concerns respecting life for people with down syndrome or other limitations and also end of life issues, not supporting artificially accelerating the end of life proactively.

But according to your religion we are all stained with the taint of sin from conception and therefore we are all guilty.
I was sinful when my mother conceived me. - Psalm 51:5
I take issue with that translation of psalm 51:5. The word "mother" does not exist in the hebrew... FYI.
