What is your opinion of this?

I believe this may be the best place to post this -

What do you reckon and just how many people would have ever been "enlightened" if we use such a definition -

"A man of enlightenment, feeling one with existence, needs no morality, needs no ethics, needs no teachings about what is right and what is wrong. He is so in tune with existence that everything that happens through him is bound to be just right. There is no possibility of anything going wrong. Meditation is an art of bringing you closer to the heartbeat of existence. The deeper you go within you … you will find the very heartbeat of existence. Then there is no morality for you; all that you do is beautiful."

~ Osho

Enjoy your day!

It's a nice quote, and Osho certainly had some good insights. However, the majority of what he wrote is rubbish.

Thanks for all the opinions - I did ask for them didn't I?

I guess it is all in the eye (or mind) of the beholder.

In response to anyone who considers him dangerous ... the little voice in my head asked me to type this -

Some of us are quite fond of dangerous ideas!

Any given idea is only labelled as "dangerous" if & when it threatens the status quo. But the status quo is absurd - almost any alternative would be better.

The only people who try to defend the status quo are those individuals who consider that they have a "good deal" out of it compared with less-fortunate individuals. But the "lucky" people are not really all that lucky because they have to live in a world where many of the people who get a "raw deal" become angry & violent.

Enjoy your day!

But somehow he had need for all those Rolls Royces
Yeah and 99 of them. Could not buy the 100th in US because the government pushed him out - and the Indian government was foolish enough to let him stay in Pune.

Status-quo is not always desirable, but morals and ethics always are ('Dharma'). Osho did make sure that all who came to his joint were certified HIV free. So, no need for condoms.
