I have been non political for all of my childhood. I only went to church to make my parents happy. Christian Conservative Republicans who complained about video games made me laugh.

It was only until my gay friends came out of the closet that I become more liberal regarding that issue. I used to believe that gay marriage should be decided by the states. I was a moderate. I wanted to make both sides happy.

After playing the first Mass Effect science and space exploration became cool to me. I wish instead of being enslaved by an antichrist and having an apocalyptic final battle then being saved by an all knowing deity humanity develops an FTL spaceship and makes first contact by the end of this century.

I think SJWs are annoying. I believe women should be payed the same amount for the same work and be able to get an abortion if they are raped but I don't want to be associated with angry purple haired people.

For the most part "angry purple haired people" is just a stupid strawman/stereotype. People like to find the kooky fringe and paint that entire corner of the political spectrum with it.

As to SJWs, ironically the term was coined by their own side to mock such annoyances. I used to be very anti SJW. But they are toxic and act like the “annoying blue haired feminist” they claim to intensely dislike.
I wish I could have realised that sooner, alas I am an idiot.
Oh and Mass Effect is awesome!
