ICE to hire contractor to transport 225,000 migrants to shelters across the US

Right. Like the "Relocation Centers" of 1942.
Not even close. Self supporting American citizens were illegally detained in 1942.

In the modern case, these are not citizens, and they are not self supporting. Further they have broken the law by entering the US illegally.

They have no inherent right to be here, till the are legally declared as legal.

It is the largesse of the American people that allows them housing, food, and medical care till their case is adjudicated.

Approx. 90% if released before their hearing will never have a hearing, they will never return and will remain illegal.

Of those who do have hearings, approx 90% will not meet the legal requirements for asylum.

Good luck using common sense and facts in this argument...

Right. Like the "Relocation Centers" of 1942.

That's a bit overdramatized isn't it?

There are alternatives:

Send them to sanctuary cities so they can feed and house them in hotels and motels and provide security while they wait-- oh yeah, they didn't want them.

Celebrities that are in favour of mass immigration could let them live in the spare rooms in their mansions and put up tent cities on their grounds:
For example:
Nikki Minaj, George Clooney, Anne Hathaway, Kristen Bell, Chrissy Tiegan, Mark Hamill. Etc.

I doubt it will happen though

No disrespect intended, but where are we supposed to send them?
Let's take this a step further. Once we prosecute them, then what? It is highly likely that they do not have finances to pay a fine. To incarcerate them would just add an even greater financial burden than just letting them in. The big question I would like to have answered is 'Okay... now what?'

The Trump administration is looking to hire a private contractor that will be responsible for transporting approximately 225,000 migrant children and families to shelters across the country over the next five years as they wait for their asylum claims to be processed

It would be a heckofa lot cheaper and much more effective if they hire one person to take Trump to Moscow to be with his lover Vladimir permanently.

If they don't meet the requirements for asylum, we follow our laws and deport them. If they really want to get into this country, they can get to the back of the line of people seeking to legally immigrate.

Right. Like the "Relocation Centers" of 1942.
Or sanctuary cities could change their minds and welcome the asylum-seekers like they say they supposedly would...

If you want them in the country, you have to be willing to do something. This isn't Dungeons & Dragons where we can send them to a pocket dimension while they wait. We have to put them somewhere in the country and take on all the economic and human costs that come along with that.

Angela Merkel on mass immigration in Germany and Europe:
" it was a big mistake"

Feel free to repeat history though, but at what cost?

Is this going to speed up the processes or slow it down? Is this going to make it easier to track these people, or make it harder? Does this help the immigration problem or make it worse?
