Why was laban using divination if he knew God thought of it as sin?In Genesis 30:27?I got all this information in the NIV of the bible.

Before asking questions, you might want to examine whether or not they make any sense.
Otherwise your Bible ignorance becomes evident.

For instance, why should Laban consider divination a sin? Do you have an answer to this?

Also, there is scant information in you short comment, yet you say, “ I got all this information “

Please clarify.

In response to your first question.I think leban was sinning if he knew it was wrong(divination).Innocent if he didn't.

Yes.

But the critical question still remains: “Why should Laban consider divination a sin?”

Although your latest post raises additional questions, I will leave those until you are able to answer the biggie which I continue to ask.

Aha, I see the lightbulb lit up.

Thanks for your response.

Now, I have a new question.

Why are you concerned about laws? Just curious.

Besides the ten commandments should we be listening to any other laws?I think there are 613 laws in the old testament. But i am not sure. Can you make divination an idol in your heart?Because that would be against the second commandment.

You’ve focused a lot on divination here.
I think that true divination is impossible for any human, so just because someone may attempt it or think about it, what is the problem? Just wondering. And just my opinion.

I just to be into divination when i was into the occult. But now i am wondering if i can get it by prayer to God.This might cover why i am praying to God for divination ability. Matthew 7:7-8.

Ah, I see.
You have a history.

Well, my very humble opinion is this:

A person practicing divination cannot actually determine future events. A person can do divination for any number of reasons. If those reasons include harm of other people, then I would guess that would be seen as a sin. Otherwise, what’s the problem?

When John wrote Revelation, that could be seen as divination by some people. I do not. It’s a totally different thing, but that’s another discussion. Anyway, if John wrote it for personal benefit at other’s expense then I would think that would be considered a sin. Obviously that wasn’t the case. But then, what if other people take Revelation and misread it and use their own interpretation (I don’t know, is this a form of divination?) and harm others as a result? For instance, many people have written books and profited greatly from their twisted false views of future events based upon Revelation. I am guessing this would be a sin.

The common denominator is harm to others. That I would think is the sin.
