Trump, and Blackmail?

Soooo...you still think Trump is an idiot? This all sound fairly complicated and sophisticated; I would think it would take an evil genius to figure out all the logistics and pre-planning of such an elaborate scheme.

So... Perhaps the Russians managed that part of it for him?

WWMRD?

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...
Sure, why not buy into more conspiracy theories while ignoring the war machine trudging onward and onward, bombing and killing even more and more??

Let's all worry about supposed Russian or mafia influence on Trump and ignore Saudi influence and American participation in their invasion of Yemen.

Ignore the bombs falling in Yemen, Syria, and Afghanistan, let's focus on the president's ****ing taxes instead. Because that is surely more important than the problem of endless war in a place known as the Graveyard of Empires!! Pay no attention to the military-industrial complex behind the curtain!! We've always been at war with Eastasia Afghanistan.
Right, because it's impossible to be concerned about two things at once, and none of us here have expressed concerns about American militarism elsewhere.

I will put this here, seems to be on topic.

Cohen claimed he helped bury personal photographs for Jerry Falwell Jr. before the evangelical leader backed Trump

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/beta.washingtonpost.com/politics/cohen-claimed-he-helped-bury-personal-photographs-of-jerry-falwell-jr-before-the-evangelical-leader-backed-trump/2019/05/07/5e5c1664-7114-11e9-9f06-5fc2ee80027a_story.html?outputType=amp

One interesting part is this.
The longtime Trump fixer said he kept a copy of one of the Falwell photos on his phone, Cohen told Arnold on their March 25 call.
...
“I actually have one of the photos,” he (Cohen) said on the recording. “It’s terrible.”
It always seemed strange that Jerry Falwell jr endorsed Trump so early.

You fail to understand Trump.
He's an evil genius when that tells the best story to make him look bad.
He's completely candid & honest when that tells the best story to make him look bad.
The rest of the time he's a lying blithering idiot...which is a great story to make him look bad.
See the pattern now?
He becomes what the anti-Trumpettes need.....to make him look bad.

Odd....there's so much about him which can be reasonably criticized.
Why make up lame arsched crapola about him too?
They just lose credibility.

It's unfortunate that facts confuse you. Maybe actually try and deal with what's there in the OP than invent excuses to just ignore and blow it all off.

This

He was so desperate to hide what Putin and he talked about that I find it very suspicious. He acts like he has a lot to hide and that convinces me he does.

Is not facts.

Congrats on publicly admitting to not know the difference between facts and opinion.

Right, because it's impossible to be concerned about two things at once, and none of us here have expressed concerns about American militarism elsewhere.

No one who cares about tax return related conspiracy theories seems to truly care about the wars in Syria and Yemen. The same people said nothing when their team started those wars. After 2008, a good portion of the anti-war movement abandoned the rest of us because they weren't actually concerned with war, they just wanted their guy commanding the bloodshed. I thought they'd come back to the anti-war movement after 2016, but so far I haven't seen much. Most of 'em are unironically pro-war now.

But more importantly conspiracy mongering like this is being used to advocate for more war. You are feeding into American militarism with this nonsense. I keep hearing how we need to stay in Syria indefinitely because we can't let the Russians win, and I am hearing with increasingly alarming frequency that we need to get involved in Venezuela because Russia is doing so. You may claim you care about militarism, but that claim rings hollow when the same Red Scare mentality these conspiracies all promoting is feeding into the great war machine. At best you are a useful idiot helping the pro-war side unaware you are doing so.

And this tax return thing is just matador politics. If there was anything truly damning in the tax returns, they'd probably have been leaked by someone in the IRS. Most likely the reason Trump doesn't release them, is because it distracts his critics like waving a red cape in front of a bull, so that they focus on the lack of tax releases instead of focusing on the ongoing wars and humanitarian disasters caused by the USA. You are feeding into his attempt to distract and obfuscate from meaningful criticism.

So do you actually care about reducing American militarism?? Not knowing anything about you but this post, then maybe. But even if you truly do, your support of conspiracy theories is directly harming that cause, so your intent means very little.

But going outside your one post here, do you actually care about reducing American militarism?? A quick search pulls up a post you made reading: "If you want to get involved in Syria, fine. But do it properly. Acknowledge the complexity of the situation, have a clear set of goals, including desired end point, and then have experts draw up evidence based strategy. If you have the will to do everything said strategy requires, great. Do it."

So you are not concerned with American militarism after all. You have no problem with war in Syria, just so long as the war is more concrete than simple missile strikes and involves concrete goals and strategies. As long as the murder and bloodshed is gone about in a strategical way, you are cool with it. That thread is also full of you unwittingly parroting pro-war-in-Syria talking points, so good job there.

OK, fine, you know what I'm actually thinking better than I do, based on a single context free forum search.

QUOTING @Stanyon post: 6097166, member: 62677"]- Trump is not keeping his pay as president because he is an elitist billionaire with no need for a paltry 400 grand. And his “magnanimous” gesture helped secure the votes of the easily duped, so as to give him power over tax loopholes, which have already granted himself much more.

- the economy is booming. Yep, it is. Now that the stimulus package in 2009 and policies of the Obama era got us heading ever upward.
Trump inherited a stable and growing economy and claims to be responsible for planting it and making it grow. HA!! Sorry. Valid opinions can only start from facts. Conservative claims of fiscal responsibility and boons for the middle class are a myth. In fact, Trump’s tariffs and tax breaks for his fellow country-club millionaires and billionaires seem to be having a distinctly destabilizing effect on the markets globally and at home. Just sayin’.
Let’s see where it all goes in the next couple of years, eh?

-we are not at war. WRONG! Link. and second link.
Trump; one of the least transparent and least honest presidents and/or politician of any stripe, has continued all of the conflicts we were in. And where he is not weakly cowering back from Putin’s military, he is dramatically increasing the drone strikes that so many people lambasted Obama for. But unlike “Open Obama”, “Deranged Donny” has ordered the military to stop telling the press about it.
Let’s see how things go in Iran and Venezuela (although Trump went suddenly quiet on that second one, right after another one of his undocumented ‘private talks’ with Putin.)
Weakling.

-unemployment is at it's lowest in years especially among minorities and women. Again, born on third base, and he doesn’t know or admit it....like his fanatical base.

That's quite the spin

So you agree that Trump is not taking a salary.
yes/no (hint: you already said he wasn't)

I think that might be one of the major reasons so many have been against Trump, he doesn't need their money therefore he cannot be bought and sold like so many other politicians are.

If you want to count every time we "peacekeep" or do what is necessary to hopefully prevent a full fledged war, the U.S has technically been at war for decades. No, we are not "at war" in the normal sense.

the Maddow blog graphic shows the trend decreasing under Trump at a much faster rate, he's doing a great job, you just can't admit it.

I’m sorry. What? I was disoriented by the tornado of spinning that you’re doing, along with this surreal landscape you’ve painted, and all the kool-aid you’ve spilled.

Just look at your own reply.

I think that might be one of the major reasons so many have been against Trump, he doesn't need their money therefore he cannot be bought and sold like so many other politicians are. Here, you are arguing that only aristocrats should be given positions of authority over us working-class schmoes.
The argument would hold true for President, judges, senators, generals, and....uh....what other offices should only be holdable by the entitled elites? eh?
I thought we fought the revolutionary war to eliminate that exact sort of system. Huh.....

Care to take back your statement now, fellow patriot?

If you want to count every time we "peacekeep" or do what is necessary to hopefully prevent a full fledged war, the U.S has technically been at war for decades. No, we are not "at war" in the normal sense. Oooh. Nice parsing. I can tell that you are no mere neo-con warhawk.
Oh wait. No I can’t.

Maybe if you live in Tennessee.....otherwise.....
January-2018-Unemployment-Chart.jpg

A more careful and detailed examination of the unemployment charts show that the portion of the graph with the sharpest angle of descent was between 2013 and 2016. So it would seem that it is not me who “just can’t admit it.”
unemploy1-768x503.png

Look, @Stanyon, I know that admitting that we’re wrong is one of the most difficult things for any person to do. And it is even harder for fanatical followers of cult leaders, because not only do you have to admit that the leader is a whack-job, but also that your investment in them was brought about by being duped. It takes a very strong person to admit that.

Please. Be strong. America needs you.
