Is this what America is becoming?

National borders are not one of these. One state like Cali with no concern about the border will just enable people to flood other states. Those states may have to create their own state border controls hampering commence over state lines.
Agricultural states generally like immigration. If you go to North Carolina you will see Spanish translations on everything, hear Spanish on the radio etc. For quite some time NC was where people went to get fake ID, until recently.

The US always had a border patrol. We've always had illegals. We've almost always had mafia. We've had Irish pouring in, Germans, Greek, Iranians, Russians, Italians, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Chinese and just about everybody coming in here and stealing our jobs and marrying our women. After two centuries of it you'd think we'd learn.

2 things really matter. 1. The ethnicity of our population is changing rapidly. 2. Television is the new melting pot.

You kind of missed the point, though, didn't you. The point being that we have become a nation so ignorant of the economic damage our obsession with greed has done to so many of our own citizens that we actually have laws against helping them.

Posting two completely unrelated stories and asking what are things coming to?

The first article is about a guy helping illegal immigrants saying he might spend 20 years in prison. The cost of imprisoning someone in a federal prison is ~$35,000 a year. The second story is about a decision the state of California made in 1976.

California does pretty good usually, although it has its lumps.
That still worries me abit, honestly. And on many levels. Straight up, lots of people make uninformed votes here over lots of different issues on ballot measures they dont understand. And of course there was prop 8. Conservatives arent running the show, but its painfully obvious here how fragile and vulnerable our system really is.

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...
When i talk of freedom i refere to the simple "government leave me alone, im not doing nothing evil" mentality.

Thats all i want in my life, is that. Actually, all of society to leave me alone, im not doing anything evil.

Perhaps its a trust issue. And due to truly evil people, trust toward all is broke.

Its unfortanate.
Where that argument gets sticky is when you wonder if isolationism and leaving others in need might count as an "evil".

Which makes one ask the question do Californians go when they are unhappy with their state?

Some things you cant help. As in you cant save the whole world. Plus, by trying to help all, you sacrifice TRULY helping fully those you CAN help.

Im not saying we should not help anyone. We should.

But the way the system is now, i feel like wer so taxed to hell that it leaves us to work harder in order to help others. But then it leaves us burnt out, so we work less, now we barely got enough to help ourselves, let alone others.

Again, if the dam government would leave us alone, wed have enough money, actually, money rolling out of our ears so wed have more then the ability to help others more.

Ergo an issue if border issues are passed to the states.

A lot of that was before the welfare state.I would have fewer issues with immigration if there were better restriction on welfare and social services for immigrants.

2 things really matter. 1. The ethnicity of our population is changing rapidly. 2. Television is the new melting pot.

1. This isn't a major issue for me. I care about values (not just values I agree with and support) and what people think the role of the state is. Ergo regressive values like those of Iran and KSA, and socialist for examples. Besides even people within what people would label my ethnic group hold values I object to and they are citizens not immigrants.

2. Sure I guess. I do not watch a lot of TV so maybe there is a point I am missing. I mostly watch sports which consumes all free tv time. Typical I have 2-3 games a day I can watch. Blue Jays, Dodgers, NHL playoffs and Raptors. (I use channels with online services so I can watch a game without ads.) If I like the show I care little about what the cast is. The only factor about what the cast is occurs if there is a disconnect between the story and the cast which is so rare I can not even think of an example.

Evidence? Isnt it logical? If we got tax less, wed have more money to help others.
Ah. "Logic"

It's rather begging the question. The fact that there are 200ish billionaires in the US, but still homeless people rather suggests that selfless altruism is not a reliable safety net.

If these news are true, and it seems like they are, what in the world is happening to America?
What has humanity been reduce to over there? And most important, what do you Americans here in RF think about it?
As much as this kind of news disgusts me, at least for now, none of this will affect me directly since I live in France and over here we don't have this kind of insanity yet (we have others, though).

Frankly, Trump and his base have lost their minds and their morals, who Steven Hawking not long before he died referred to Trump's followers as "the lowest-common denominator" in American society. I don't like his choice of words but it's hard to argue with his overall opinion because of Trump's utterly depraved words and actions-- sorry to say.

Theres more factors involved then just that. First some billionairs do give to charities. Secondly, homeless people cant just be given money and homes, they need to be given jobs. Thirdly, if i was a billionar, and the government left me alone and taxed me less to where now im almost a trillionar, boy, would i be creating jobs left right and center, plus giving massive raises to current workers.

But, thats just me and thats what im talking about. And thats why i want the government to leave me the hell alone, s o i can atleast in a big big way take care of my whole family.

The teacher entered her contract willingly. If she is ignorant of policy regarding her employment that is her problem. If she does not want to pay for someone else to do her job she can quit.

Or maybe she could just tell the cancer to go away and keep doing her job, right?
Your lack of empathy is appalling. Do you have any idea of what your life becomes when you have cancer? Shame on you for making a cold hearted comment like that.
