We don't wish to have funerals we we die

Cremation is dumb because it denies you your transformation into your Final Form:
I am also a Baha’i but I never really understood all the reasons why cremation is against Baha’i Law, other than that it would be interfere with the process of the soul leaving the body.

What do you mean, transformation into your Final Form?

Ecclesiastes 3:19 For the fates of both men and beasts are the same: As one dies, so dies the other—they all have the same breath. Man has no advantage over the animals, since everything is futile. 20 All go to one place: All come from dust, and all return to dust.
That is true of the bodies of man and the animals, but it is not true of the soul. Man has an advantage over animals because man has an eternal soul that continues to exist forever. Animals have an animal spirit and we do not know what happens to that after they die. Some Baha’is believe they are extinguished and others believe they continue on and exist in the spiritual world.

My husband and I do not want funerals, our bodies are to be taken straight to the crematorium when we are dead, after any useful bits have been removed. We are not in the least bit sentimental about dead bodies, which we regard as waste products, if they can be put to good use after death we are all for it. Our family will abide by our wishes. I would be happy if they wanted to have a party to celebrate my death.:D I have attended very few funerals in my 69 years, not even my mother's , and don't wish to attend anymore, as I don't see the point. I prefer to remember how a person was in life, not in death.

Some elderly relatives of mine died last year, even though they were religious I heard their bodies were taken straight to the crem.

What do other posters think about having a funeral?
get cryogenically frozen. I'll do it ;)

Humans are animals and no different to any other species in many respects. When we die we cease to be just like any other animal. The idea of a 'soul', which lives on after death, is a fanciful notion for which there is not the slightest bit of evidence.

I'll take God's knowing over man's supposition. When God said all in the inspired work in Ecclesiastes who am I to say he didn't mean animals? All things are created of God.

I will either be buried in an eco-friendly manner (no embalming and just put me in a simple cardbox or whatever) or cremated in an eco-friendly manner as modern Western cremation is bad for the environment. A Tibetan sky burial sounds nice, too. I do want a funeral presided over by a priest or priestess, though.

I don't want a funeral, I want to be cremated and disposed of in the Hindu way. No wake, no casket, just the cardboard box. I'll have my best friend, who is like a brother, or my husband's nephew (he is like our son) witness it. Hindu custom is that the eldest male descendant/relative either lights the funeral pyre or witnesses it at the crematorium. NJ frowns on backyard cremations, so I guess witnessing it is. If anyone wants to attend the scattering of my ashes, they are welcome. That is the only service to be done. There are agencies that will ship the ashes to India for disposal in one of the sacred rivers. I might be able to inquire about it at the temple. My niece said she'd take my ashes to India for disposal. She always wanted to go to India. I said "You're waiting for me to die so you can take my ashes to India and go on vacation there!?" She said "Yeah, pretty much". I called her the b-word. :D

I'm with you guys! Same with ashes to ashes. But no funeral. I always told my kids to dig a hole and put me in. No fuss or sad goodbyes. And certainly no ridiculous expense putting a dead body in a fancy box with and headstone like they are actually still there. Who cares?

I will live in the memories of those who knew and loved me. That's enough .
