"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to bring peace, but a sword."

There is judgement right there.

How about christians who steal or rapes, takes slaves or commits genocide

The bible condones these acts so they must be christian

the bible is misused. people should approach critically the bible. especially the OT. afterall what jesus says matter in the end.

Religion has nothing to with the evilness of an individual, true religion or otherwise. It doesn't matter if you hang your life on the cross, the dharma wheel, or some other symbol of faith because if you have not looked at your own potential to act in both good and evil ways, then you are mislead by your mental whims and the lies we tell ourselves about how "good a person" we are. "Good" people do evil things; this is a fact that cannot be avoided. Likewise, "evil" people do good things. What no one looks at is the cause for the motivation. Why are people motivated to do certain things? What would it take for a "good" person to do evil or a "bad" person to do good?

But it is the priests, or ministers as the case may be, who define what the religion teaches to their followers. If they preach a God of fear, then that is what the religion is teaching to his flock.

I was mentally sick with depression. and that made me envy. envy is a sin,no? I saw others as enemies. i was miserable. I seeked psychology help and now i'm way better, i don't feel envy and hatred. envy and hatred showed that there is something wrong.

That is part of the human story, yes. You saw something in yourself that you feel is less than ideal. Your depression (the cause) had you feeling envy (the motivation) - and thank goodness you chose not to act on your envy or let it fester into resentment because then you become dangerous, to yourself or to others. This is what I am saying. We all have the potential inside of ourselves to let a darker side of ourselves take root.

The people in Germany were not bad people for "not seeing" what they did not wish to acknowledge. If they saw what was happening to the Jews then they would have to do something about it. They were not mentally able to do that. World war 1 had taken such a toll on them that they didn't have the internal resources to be responsible for themselves or the Jews. It was easier to be blind.

There are situations in which everyone might find themselves unable to choose the good of an other over their own needs. There isn't a cure necessarily. Its a battle. You fought depression, you did not cure it. My signature, "In order to battle the serpent you need to find your fangs" - the serpent may be outside of ourselves but usually we fight the serpent that lays quietly within. That's what my life has shown me anyways.
