Underground freshwater deposits also extend beneath the Persian Gulf to the Saudi Arabian coast.

Since ancient times, these springs have attracted settlers to the archipelago. Despite increasing salinization, the springs remain an important source of drinking water for Bahrain.

That makes more sense. If people misbehave then the Law applies. You don't condemn the person, but you condemn their actions (their actions that hurt others). Sadly when "sin" is used, many times it is used also to condemn their belief or their feelings. This kind of judging feels wrong to me. All are children of God, so when you judge someone (as a person instead of his actions) then you judge indirectly God (who created that person). But even judging the harmless actions of others can be tricky when seen from a spiritual point of view.

When someone harms others, then it's natural to stop that person from doing this
(apply the "golden rule", don't do unto others what you don't want them to do unto you)

That was so well put,and makes so much sense.

I just said "know God for myself," but I've really been thinking about it,and sometime I say "God" and sometime "Higher Power" I think I'll stick with "Higher Power" cause man made the name "God"and fuss over who is right in his name. So "Higher Power" feels so much more peaceful.

I can't help your "belief".. but pearl divers freedive to 30 feet in Bahrain..

Also, if you know anything of the history of ARAMCO, you'd know they tapped into these fresh water spring offshore back in the late 1930s.

After 9-11 many people joined the military and went to war. Even people that had million dollar a year career's. Pat Tillman is an example.
In my eyes, and the eyes of many 9-11 wasn't a attack on religion, it was a attack on America. Religion or not didn't matter.

It's ironic that especially Christians make us go away from using the word God, while they claim they want others to meet God.
Last month in a church I did not like to sing the word Jesus even; only because these Christians belittle other religions (and Atheism/Buddhism)
My Master always said "evangelizing is a cause of atheism" which makes perfect sense to me now after experiencing this feeling.

I also grew up in the Christian faith. Already at age 10 I told my mother "This Christianity can't be right ... them telling they are the only right religion". I just used my common sense "what about the people who never heard about God?" ... "what about the people born before Jesus". They say God is the father and all humans are His children. So the Divine Father would not give His Blessings when a son born in Buddhism leading the perfect (Samaritan) life (or to an Atheist, Humanist)? I knew it was wrong then, I know it is wrong now (Love thy neighbor as thyself ... do not judge etc). This belief is probably created by "power hungry" Popes etc

Archaeology has never been able to prove any of the stories are true. They have never found a trace of the Jews being in Egypt.. In fact.. both Canaan and Sinai were under Egyptian authority back then.

Thuthmosis3Map.gif
2 Samuel 5:4-10
4 David was 30 years old when he became king, and he reigned for 40 years. 5 In Hebʹron he reigned over Judah for 7 years and 6 months, and in Jerusalem he reigned for 33 years over all Israel and Judah. 6 And the king and his men set out for Jerusalem against the Jebusites who were inhabiting the land. They taunted David: “You will never come in here! Even the blind and the lame will drive you away.” They thought, ‘David will never get in here.’ 7 However, David captured the stronghold of Zion, which is now the City of David. 8 So David said on that day: “Those who attack the Jebusites should go through the water tunnel to strike down both ‘the lame and the blind,’ who are hateful to David!” That is why it is said: “The blind and the lame will never enter the house.” 9 Then David took up residence in the stronghold, and it was called the City of David; and David began to build all around from the Mound inward. 10 Thus David became greater and greater, and Jehovah the God of armies was with him.

In Jerusalem in 1867 an old water tunnel was discovered, running from the fountain of Gihon back into the hill behind. (See GIHON No. 2.) This may illustrate the account of David’s capture of the city at 2 Samuel 5:6-10. In 1909-1911 the entire system of tunnels connected with the Gihon spring was cleared. One tunnel, known as the Siloam Tunnel, averaged 1.8 m (6 ft) in height and was cut through rock for a distance of some 533 m (1,749 ft) from Gihon to the Pool of Siloam in the Tyropoeon Valley (within the city). It thus seems to be the project of King Hezekiah described at 2 Kings 20:20 and 2 Chronicles 32:30. Of great interest was the ancient inscription found on the tunnel wall in early Hebrew monumental script describing the cutting of the tunnel and its length. This inscription is used for comparison in dating other Hebrew inscriptions found.

Lachish, 44 km (27 mi) WSW of Jerusalem, was a principal fortress protecting the Judean hill country. At Jeremiah 34:7 the prophet tells of Nebuchadnezzar’s forces fighting against “Jerusalem and against all the cities of Judah that were left remaining, against Lachish and against Azekah; for they, the fortified cities, were the ones that remained over among the cities of Judah.” Excavations at Lachish produced evidence of destruction by fire twice within a period of a few years, believed to represent two attacks by the Babylonians (618-617 and 609-607 B.C.E.), after which it lay uninhabited for a long period.
In the ashes of the second burning were found 21 ostraca (pieces of pottery inscribed with writing), believed to represent correspondence shortly before the destruction of the city in Nebuchadnezzar’s final assault. Known as the Lachish Letters, these writings reflect a period of crisis and anxiety and appear to have been written from remaining outposts of Judean troops to Yaosh, a military commander in Lachish. (PICTURE, Vol. 1, p. 325) Letter number IV contains the statement: “May YHWH [that is, Jehovah] let my lord hear even now tidings of good. . . . we are watching for the fire signals of Lachish, according to all the signs which my lord gives, because we do not see Azekah.” This passage remarkably expresses the situation described at Jeremiah 34:7, quoted above, and apparently indicates that Azekah had already fallen or at least was failing to send out the fire or smoke signals expected

Letter number III, written by “Hoshaiah,” includes the following: “May YHWH [that is, Jehovah] cause my lord to hear tidings of peace! . . . And it has been reported to your servant saying, ‘The commander of the army, Coniah son of Elnathan, has come down in order to go into Egypt and to Hodaviah son of Ahijah and his men he has sent to obtain [supplies] from him.’” This portion could well represent the fact of Judah’s turning to Egypt for help, as condemned by the prophets. (Jer 46:25, 26; Eze 17:15, 16) The names Elnathan and Hoshaiah, occurring in the complete text of this letter, are also found at Jeremiah 36:12 and Jeremiah 42:1. Other names appearing in the letters also occur in the book of Jeremiah: Gemariah (36:10), Neriah (32:12), and Jaazaniah (35:3). Whether in any case they represent the same individual or not cannot be said, but the coincidence in itself is notable in view of Jeremiah’s being a contemporary of that period.

Archaeology has served to confirm many historical features of the Biblical account with regard to these lands and to substantiate points once held in question by modern critics. Skepticism as regards the Tower of Babel, denials of the existence of a Babylonian king named Belshazzar and of an Assyrian king named Sargon (whose names, up until the nineteenth century C.E., were not found in sources independent of the Bible record), and other adverse criticisms as to Bible data relating to these lands have all been demonstrated to be without foundation. Contrariwise, a wealth of evidence has been unearthed that harmonizes fully with the Scriptural account.

Genesis, Exodus, Job, Jonah are not history.. They are teaching narratives.
I didn't ask for your opinion on that, but thanks for sharing... although I don't know why you think it is important.
You could tell us though your stand on this...
Is Jesus and Paul fiction.

(Mark 10:6-9)
6 However, from the beginning of creation, ‘He made them male and female. 7 For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother, 8 and the two will be one flesh,’ so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore, what God has yoked together, let no man put apart.”

(1 Corinthians 15:45-49)
45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living person.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 46 However, what is spiritual is not first. What is physical is first, and afterward what is spiritual. 47 The first man is from the earth and made of dust; the second man is from heaven. 48 Like the one made of dust, so too are those made of dust; and like the heavenly one, so too are those who are heavenly. 49 And just as we have borne the image of the one made of dust, we will bear also the image of the heavenly one.

Meanwhile, here's a list of 50 of the parables of Jesus.

What are the parables that Jesus taught? | CARM.org
Here is a list of scriptures I posted before, that are not Parables, but mention events related to Moses.
(Matthew 8:4) . . .Then Jesus said to him: “See that you tell no one, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses appointed, for a witness to them.”
(Matthew 19:3-8) 3 And Pharisees came to him intent on testing him, and they asked: “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on every sort of grounds?” 4 In reply he said: “Have you not read that the one who created them from the beginning made them male and female 5 and said: ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will stick to his wife, and the two will be one flesh’? 6 So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together, let no man put apart.” 7 They said to him: “Why, then, did Moses direct giving a certificate of dismissal and divorcing her?” 8 He said to them: “Out of regard for your hard-heartedness, Moses made the concession to you of divorcing your wives, but that has not been the case from the beginning.
(Matthew 23:1-3) . . .Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying: 2 “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the seat of Moses. 3 Therefore, all the things they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds, for they say but they do not practice what they say.
Luke 1
(Luke 5:14) . . .Then he gave the man orders to tell no one: “But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, just as Moses directed, for a witness to them.”
(Luke 24:27) . . .And starting with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them things pertaining to himself in all the Scriptures. . .
(John 1:17) . . .Because the Law was given through Moses, the undeserved kindness and the truth came to be through Jesus Christ.
(John 3:14, 15) 14 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of man must be lifted up, 15 so that everyone believing in him may have everlasting life.
(John 7:19) Moses gave you the Law, did he not? But not one of you obeys the Law. Why are you seeking to kill me?”

Luke is a genealogy that includes the first man Adam.
