Just a note. Some bibles read differently.

Some say 'the number of a man...'
Some say 'the number of a certain man....'

The first is not altogether, a point to one individual.
The second would have you seek out one person.

If I say to you...the hand of a man does evil.....
It does not denote any one particular person.
If I say to you...the hand of a certain man does evil...
then you would look for that one individual.

Which direction did you intend?

There are so many problems with this. First, Vicarius Filii Dei is not, and has never been a title of the Pope. More so, it translates to Vicar of the Son of God. To translate it to substitute is misleading. None of the Pope's official titles actually add up to 666, which is why this one was made up.

A second problem is that most recent discoveries of the book of Revelations uses the number 616. So 666 may simply be wrong.

Third, scholars generally accept that the beast is Nero. The Beast with Seven heads is Rome. Rome was equated with Babylon quite frequently after the destruction of Jerusalem. Etc, etc.

I think the clincher though is that Vicarius Filii Dei is not a title of the Pope, and thus the whole argument fails.

How about this...if a=6,b=12,c=18 then c+o+m+p+u+t+e+r=666 and the bar code that is imbedded on everything you buy and every credit card or id card has this same number inbedded in it in the form of an binary identifier

Sorry that post about jesus should have been in progressions of nine a=9,b=18,c=27...but that was not his name anyway that is just a transliteration of his name which is yeshua ben yosef

Let us say you were given a choice to take the mark 666 or have the name jesus put in your hand instead...which would you take?....if the devil is crafty he could get you anyway since the tru name of christ was not really "jesus"

In all actuality the key to the mystery is this...our bodies are nothing but beasts that are a vessel for our spirit which is what is eternal...flesh and blood do not inhereit the kingdom of heaven...the body is the beast...the body of man is 666 and those that live by the body and not by the spirit will probably take the mark

What? In Hebrew the number 6 is represented by the letter vav, corresponding to the English letter “v”. The Hebrew letter shin, English “sh” or “s” represents 300. And the Hebrew letter samekh, English “s”, the letter represents 60. Besides which the book of Revelations was written in Greek, not Hebrew. What are you even talking about?

In Genesis, Creation was performed in six days, with God resting on the seventh day. In terms of the sixth and last day of creation, this is when God makes the animals of the land, including humans.

Cattle are mentioned, which brings to mind herding. It also talks about plants yielding seeds; farming, and humans now having dominion over all the life of the earth.

In terms of Evolution, the sixth day targets the time frame connected to the appearance of humans, as they evolve from migratory gatherers, to herding gatherers, to farming and to civilization, leading to the population explosion; fruitful and multiply, and then the dominion over the earth.

And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures of every kind: cattle and creeping things and wild animals of the earth of every kind." And it was so.
[1:25] God made the wild animals of the earth of every kind, and the cattle of every kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground of every kind. And God saw that it was good.

In the second chapter of Genesis, Genesis tells us that Adam was created on day 3 before the plants. He is not created on day 6, like the rest of the humans.

Eve, in Genesis 3, after the fall, is called the mother of all the living; humans. If we put it all together, Day six is connected to the fall from paradise to the earth. Day six is also when crawling things; serpent, and wild animals appear. Satan, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil and law, become the fate of humans. The tree of life is cut off and paradise is sealed.

[2:5] when no plant of the field was yet in the earth and no herb of the field had yet sprung up - for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no one to till the ground;
[2:6] but a stream would rise from the earth, and water the whole face of the ground -
[2:7] then the LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being.

[3:20] The man named his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all living.

The number 666 is a trinity, connected to Satan, Antichrist and Beast. This is a modern polarization of the trinity of Faith; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The AntiChrist is a reincarnation of the fall from paradise, where faith reverts back to law and knowledge of good and evil. The mark of the beast is an new version of original sin.

This sounds like a type of Socialism, where government controls everything including the marketplace. Big Government decides what is sold and how much each person buy. You need your official mark to participate.

The mark of the beast is written on foreheads or right hands. The forehead is where the frontal lobe; mind's eye is. These are the visionaries of the antichrist; his priests and preachers. The mark of the beast 666 is the anti-trinity of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; Satan, Antichrist and the Beast. The anti trinity appears in day 6 of creation. This connected to law, and the fall from paradise. Satan is placed in charge; CEO, of the imperfect creation of day 6, that is different from paradise.

The brain is cross wired. As such, the right hand is controlled by the left hemisphere of the brain. The left hemisphere is connected to reason and differential knowledge of good and evil; new laws of the Antichrist. One has to be part of his cult to buy and sell.

Before it comes to this, the Antichrist will desecrate the sanctuary fortress and then set up the Abomination of Desolation. The Abomination of Desolation, destroys all traces of the former ways. Everyone is put in a bind. The Beast, of the trinity, will burn the Whore of Babylon with fire; she is the dark side of capitalism; glorious yet suspect due to faux reality; marketing. The merchants all complain, since nobody buys their cargos anymore.

This change makes it easy for the AntiChrist to indoctrinate and control, since he controls all the food and needed supplies. Only those connected to him; mark of the beast, will be able to buy and sell.

On the contrary, it sounds exactly like the world of the capitalist IT mega-corporations that we are moving rapidly into today.

To keep the AntiChrist at bay, you need a government system like that of the EU for example, with the vision and determination not to bow down to Faecebook, Twatter and Apple.

Its probably because the χξς (666) = 300 with gematria, which is the value of the hebrew letter Shin with Standard gematria. I note however that John didn't use Standard Gematria. He was a biblical gematria guy all the way down.
