First, the Book of Judges is a collection of legends, all of doubtful historical content.

However, the book has a theme, which is reiterated—the lack of central authority led to chaos. The tribes of Israel battled each other.

I just read Judges 19–21. It appears that during the period of the Judges, the tribe of Benjamin displayed a spirit of obstinacy in refusing to deliver up the perpetrators of a vile act performed in the city of Gibeah.

This led to civil war with the other tribes, who were determined not to let the wrong go unpunished, and it resulted in the near extermination of the tribe of Benjamin. (Jg 19-21)

Nevertheless, by the method devised by the other tribes for preserving the tribe, Benjamin recovered and grew from about 600 men to nearly 60,000 warriors by the time of David’s kingship.—1Ch 7:6-12.

There are lots of legends.. The tribe of Benjamin are the ancestors of the Afghani Pashtun and/or they are the ancestors of the Spanish.

Why don't you read before you get snippy?

Why don't you do the same before you go quoting things.
In the book of Christ Jesus Revelation
Christ Jesus has the tribe of Benjamin listed so it's not lost as you suppose it is.

It requires indoctrination. Atheists either haven't been indoctrinated or have overcome their indoctrination. Usually the latter.

Right, the old "Real Christian" argument. In the minds of the majority of Christians, no JW is a real Christian, so I don't think that argument works well for you.

Noone wrote the science books. Science books represent the accumulated knowledge of mankind.

Science progresses toward an understanding of the universe. We went from the earth as the center of everything to the earth revolving around the unmoving sun to realizing that the sun was a star among billions of other stars.

Which "him"? Which god? The one you favor? Or are you referring to Shiva or Allah or any of the tens of thousands of gods that are or were worshipped? All gods that sprang from the minds of man.

Christians cannot even agree on the attributes of their god.

When you use terms like "chance to pop into existence" and "proof" you show your ignorance of science.

Nevertheless, there is far more evidence for evolution than there is for a god existing forever.

Christians have been shaking in their boots for over 2000 years waiting for the "judgement". For over 2000 years prophets have been saying "any day now - in the near future". If I'm not mistaken that was done in the early days of JW by prophets of JW. Yet here we are.

You believe those things because the leaders of your religious sect have instilled that into you since you were born.

Many Christians would describe JW as the weed.

Every Baptist, evangelical, protestant, catholic believes exactly the same thing, they are the ones living as true Christians.

Your worldview was shaped by indoctrination long before you even knew a "choice" existed.

Those you refer to as "refugees from Christendom" would tell you that a huge weight has been lifted from their shoulders when they overcame their indoctrination.

When you were one, two, three years old you were saying prayers, you were told about god, you were constantly reminded that god was real.

No atheist is exposed to endless hours of evolution and astronomy at those ages.

Early childhood indoctrination is very powerful. Even today, you speak with the regional intonations that you were exposed to as a very young child.

I'm sure you believe that.

When you make comments like "the finality and hopelessness of atheism " you are showing you don't have the slightest concept of atheists or atheism.

I have spent many years delving into all sorts of information from many different sources. I have come to my well considered decisions over more than four decades.

No matter my upbringing, I had to acknowledge the spiritual side of my nature. It is part of being human as our history attests. We have a space in our psyche that only God can fill...it feeds our need for meaning and purpose. Atheists have filled that space with empty science. The kind of science that relies on belief rather than proof....so it's a poor substitute IMO...but a choice nonetheless.

When I left the church due to its ineptitude and hypocrisy, I tried evolutionary science on for a while, but the more I investigated, the more I saw intelligent design demonstrated in nature. I could not deny it, so I was lost in no man's land for a while. I had given up on the church and science was empty for me. Then a tragedy occurred in my life....my father died very suddenly at a young age and rattled my world to its foundations. That was the catalyst for a new journey....an excursion into other religions searching for a meaning to life...and death.

I came up empty. But just when I was ready to give up on it all...there was a knock on my door. Answering that door changed my life. I found my my answers and my spiritual home.....because I needed one.

If atheists do not need a spiritual home, then that will be obvious by their choices. Jesus Christ will have nothing to offer those who reject God and his obvious involvement in creation, which then eliminates them from his future plans....so be it. That is their choice. Everything will have a "natural" explanation and things that don't have answers will remain in the 'too hard basket'...like abiogenesis. Not asking where life came from, or speculating on how it might have arisen spontaneously, buries all the questions that life's origin opens up. It give no one a reason for being here.....and humans by nature, need reasons and purpose.

Your choices are your choices, just as my choices are mine to make, but I still wonder about the motives of atheists who hang around religious forums. All you guys do is heap manure on the garden for me.....reinforcing everything I have come to accept as truth. You see, I pity you guys as much as you all pity us. Catch 22. You are as free to believe whatever you wish, as we are. But just because you don't believe the arbiter is there, doesn't make him go away. All decisions have consequences whether we acknowledge them or not. That is my position.

What was the tribe of Benjamin doing?

Some 30 years after dividing the conquered land among the then 13 Tribes of Israel, [Joseph having been divided into two tribes,] we read in Judges 17: There was a man called Micah, who lived in the hill country of Ephraim and he hired a young Levite from Bethlehem to stay with him and be his priest. That Young Levite was Jonathan the grandson of Moses, whose concubine ran away and returned to her family in Bethlehem. Jonathan followed her to Bethlehem and convinced her to return with him, but in the Benjaminite city of Gibeah she was raped and sodomised to death by some no-good Benjaminite perverts from that tribe.

Faithofchristian wrote……. What was the real reason that God destroyed just about the whole tribe of Benjamin all except 600 people of the tribe of Benjamin.

The Anointed……. The WHOLE tribe of Benjamin WAS destroyed, men, women, children, and even their animals. The 600 fighting men who sought refuge at the Rock of Rimon, were from the tribe of Dan, who could not remove the original inhabitants of the coastal land that had been allocated to them, and were forced to live in the hill country of Benjamin.

Recap from Post #152 in this thread.

Dan 'The Giant' was sterile, his mother 'Bilhah' was raped by Reuben the first born of Israel, from which rape she conceived and bore a daughter, who she named Hushim.

Bilhah died a few years later and Dan Adopted his little sister 'Hushim' as his own

“The Talmud states, "Whoever brings up an orphan in his home is regarded...as though the child had been born to him." (Sanhedrin 119b).” In other words, the adopted child is to be treated as a child born to the father of that house." Where ever a man has no sons, and his descendants are counted from his daughter, she is given the appellation "BEN." Hushim ben Dan is the sister and adopted daughter of Dan, who married into the tribe of Benjamin and through whose son Abitub, the tribe of Dan is counted.

Hushim was married to a man from the tribe of Benjamin, whose name was Shaharaim to who she bore two sons, Abitub and Elpaal, who are also called Shuppim and Huppim. Shaharaim divorced Husim, before Jacob took his family into Egypt, and Moved into the Land of Moab, where he sired sven sons to a woman named Hodesh, It was from the descendants of Hodesh, that King David's mother came..

All the descendants of Hushim, are descendants of Shaharaim, and are therefore Benjaminites.

Knowing that Dan was sterile, Jacob divided Joseph into two tribes, adopting Joseph's two sons as his own. Thereby maintaining the 12 tribes that are recorded as the 144,000 in Revelation.

King Saul, who stood a head taller than any other Israelite was a descendant of Hushim's second son Elpaal. End.

The Testament of Reuben the first born of Jacob/Israel 3: 11; “Had I not seen Bilhah bathing in a covered place, I had not fallen into this great iniquity. For my mind taking in the thought of the woman’s nakedness, suffered me not ‘to sleep’ until I had wrought the abominable thing. For while Jacob our father had gone to Isaac his father when we were in Eder, near to Ephrath in Bethlehem, Bilhah became drunk [During the harvest festival] and was asleep uncovered in her chamber. Having therefore gone in and beheld her nakedness, I wrought the impiety without her perceiving it, and leaving her sleeping I departed.

From the Testament of Benjamin who was born while Jacob/Israel was camped near Ephrath; 1: 3; “As Isaac was born to Abraham in his old age, so was I to Jacob, and since Rachel my mother died in giving me birth, I had no milk: therefore, I was suckled by Bilhah her hand maid. Bilhah the mother of Dan, who had been raped by Reuben, had been barren for some 14 years, and just happened to be lactating when Benjamin was born.

Hushim, was the child born of Bilhah from the rape of Reuben and she was adopted by her older brother, the sterile giant Dan after the death of their mother Bilhah.

Jonathan then cut her body into pieces and sent one to each of the tribes of Israel demanding that they do something about it. See Judges 20: 3-7. The Israelites then demanded that the tribe of Benjamin hand over the guilty perverts for execution, but they ignored them and instead they gathered together 400,000 trained soldiers into the city of Gibeah from all the surrounding Benjaminite cities to defend themselves from any attack that was bound to follow.

It was not so much what the perverts had done, but the fact that the tribe of Benjamin refused to hand over the guilty, which was the cause of the war in which every man, woman, and child, from the tribe of Benjamin were butchered.

Phinehas, the grandson of Aaron was he, who had driven a spear through the bodies of Zimri and Cosbi while they were having sex in a tent, just after Israel had captured the territories of Sihon and Og on their way to Jericho, was the priest in Shechem, who advised the Israelites to attack Benjamin. Jonathan the grandson of Moses and Phinehas the grandson of Aaron are both involved in this story.

So it takes you to say all that, but still didn't answer the question.

Had you read Judges chapters 19-20.
you would haved found out, why God destroyed the tribe of Benjamin all except for 600 people of the tribe of Benjamin.

Because those 600 people of the tribe of Benjamin would not accept nor go along with the other people of the tribe of Benjamin in committing homosexuality.

The Book of Joshua is an anonymous work. The Babylonian Talmud, written in the 3rd to 5th centuries CE, was the first attempt to attach authors to the holy books. Each book, according to the authors of the Talmud, was written by a prophet, and each prophet was an eyewitness of the events described, and Joshua himself wrote "the book that bears his name".

This idea was rejected as untenable by John Calvin (1509–1564), and by the time of Thomas Hobbes (1588–1679) it was recognised that the book must have been written much later than the period it depicted.

Wake up to your self kiddo, the six hundred survivors were the Danites who fought hand and hand and side by side with their brother tribe Benjaminite, and after all the inhabitants of the land of Benjamin had been destroyed, and the tribe of Dan, who had not been able to remove the original inhabitants from the coastal land that had been allocated to them, was divided amongst the tribe of Judah and Levi .

The 600 descendants of Shaharaim and Hushim, who belonged to the tribe of Dan and who were unable to remove the original inhabitants from the land they were allocated, had now lost the land of Benjamin in which they had lived, which land was divided up between Judah and Levi:. See Joshua 19: 47; The 600 survivors from the tribe of Dan all fighting men ready for battle, with their wives, children and all their possessions, Judges 18: 21; (They weren’t coming back) moved up into the land of Sidon the first born of Canaan, where, in the ships of Dan they became seafaring merchants, and that tribe, who had taken as their priest, Jonathan the grand son of Moses, can be found in the Greco-Roman Empire, which according to Legend was founded by the two brothers, Romulus (Benjamin who was killed when he leaped the wall) and Remus (Dan who founded Rome) the rape of the Sabine women is found in the forcible rape of the 600 virgins.

I already told you that the tribe of Benjamin multiplied. to 60,000.. Take it up with @The Anointed .

You do know that there are only 2 tribes left over in Israel
The tribe of Israel
And the tribe of Judah

The other 10 tribes broke off from Israel and went over the caucus mountains and settled what is now called the European countries and some went across the Atlantic ocean and settled in what is now called the United States.

Throughout the Middle Ages and until comparatively recent times there were claims of the existence of the ten lost tribes as well as attempts by travelers and explorers, both Jewish and non-Jewish, and by many naive scholars, both to discover the ten lost tribes or to identify different peoples with them.

In the ninth century *Eldad ha-Dani claimed not only to be a member of the tribe of Dan, but that he had communicated with four of the tribes. David *Reuveni claimed to be the brother of Joseph the king of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh who were settled in Khaybar in Arabia, which was identified with the Habor of II Kings. Benjamin of Tudela has a long description of the ten tribes.

According to him the Jews of Persia stated that in the town of *Nishapur dwelt the four tribes of Dan, Asher, Zebulun, and Naphtali, who were then governed "by their own prince Joseph Amarkala the Levite [ed. by N.M. Adler (1907), 83], while the Jews of Khaybar are of the tribes of Reuben and Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh" (ibid., 72), as was also stated by Reuveni.

Persistent was the legend that they warred with Prester John in Ethiopia, a story repeated by Obadiah of *Bertinoro in his first two letters from Jerusalem in 1488 and 1489. The kabbalist Abraham Levi the elder, in 1528, identified them with the Falashas (see *Beta Israel ). Abraham *Farissol gives a long account of them based upon conversations with David Reuveni not to be found in the latter's diary, while the most expansive is that of Abraham *Jagel , an Italian Jew of the 16th–17th centuries, in the 22nd chapter of his Beit Ya'ar ha-Levanon.

Jacob *Saphir (1822–1888) cherished the hope that he would discover the lost tribes. He tells the story in great detail of Baruch b. Samuel, a Jew of Safed who, sent to seek them, had visited Yemen and after traveling through an uninhabited desert established contact with a Jew who claimed to belong to the "sons of Moses."

However, Baruch was murdered before he could visit them (Even Sappir, 1 (1866), 41), and in the following chapter Saphir transcribes word for word the evidence given by a certain Baruch Gad to the rabbis of Jerusalem in 1647 that he had met the "sons of Moses" in Persia, who gave him a letter to Jerusalem.

He concludes wistfully, "Were I able to give full credence to this letter… I would subject it to a meticulous analysis and would learn from it matters of supreme importance, but the recollection of the fraud of Eldad ha-Dani brings suspicion upon Baruch the Gadite, for one supports the other… I have done my duty by putting the facts down and you may judge for yourselves and I will hear also what contemporary scholars say about it."

Various theories, one more farfetched than the other, have been adduced, on the flimsiest of evidence, to identify different peoples with the ten lost tribes.

There is hardly a people, from the Japanese to the British, and from the Red Indians to the Afghans, who have not been suggested, and hardly a place, among them Africa, India, China, Persia, Kurdistan, Caucasia, the U.S., and Great Britain.

Special interest is attached to the fantastic traveler's tale told by Aaron (Antonio) Levi de *Montezinos who, on his return to Amsterdam from South America in 1644, told a remarkable story of having found Indians beyond the mountain passes of the Cordilleras who greeted him by reciting the Shema. Among those to whom Montezinos gave his affidavit was *Manasseh Ben Israel , then rabbi of Amsterdam, who fully accepted the story, and to it devoted his Hope of Israel (1650, 16522) which he dedicated to the English Parliament. In section 37 he sums up his findings in the following words:

Among those to whom Montezinos gave his affidavit was *Manasseh Ben Israel , then rabbi of Amsterdam, who fully accepted the story, and to it devoted his Hope of Israel (1650, 16522) which he dedicated to the English Parliament. In section 37 he sums up his findings in the following words:

The Ten Lost Tribes

Well it's evidence that you haven't a clue or idea where the 10 tribes of Israel are to day.
It's real easy to find out just where those other 10 tribes of Israel are at in the world to day.
All a person has to do is read what God said unto Abraham and that will tell anyone what to look for in the world to find those other 10 tribes of Israel in the world to day

Here's a list of the 12 tribes of Israel

Revelation 7:4-8
And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.

6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.

7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.

8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

None of those that you given are found in the list that Christ Jesus has given in his book of Revelation.

Good.. Where are they?

Like I said, all a person has to do is read in the book of Genesis the promise's that God made to Abraham and then look around in the world and see who fits into those promises.
Well China is not a descendant of Abraham's so China can be excluded.

Russia is the descendant of Esau, which has no part of Israel.
Jacob is the brother of Esau, But it was Jacob that received the blessings from God.
So Russia can be excluded from any part of Israel.
It was Jacob who God changed Jacob's name to Israel.

At the time the 10 tribes of Israel went over the caucus mountains, this was about 200 years after Christ Jesus.
Which those 10 tribes of Israel settled in the European countries, which is why back about 300 to 400 years ago Great Britain was a great world power at the time
Because some of those 10 tribes settled in Britain.
And then some of those 10 tribes of Israel went across the Atlantic ocean and settled in what is now called the United States.

This is why the United States risen to be a great world power of the free world.

All because God made promise to father Abraham that great nation's and people would come from him.
Which is the 12 tribes of Israel.

Israel acknowledges the Pastuns as descended from the Tribe of Benjamin.

Here's the link for your cut and paste.

Where is the tribe of Dan? - DISCOVERING WHERE THE TRIBE OF DAN HAS BEEN HIDDEN

Your link is one of my posts from another Forum, where my avatar was "The S-word." Why would I want to cut and paste my own work, you silly girl?

The tribe of Benjamin was utterly destroyed, men, women, and children. How can the dead have descendants?

If you had read the link that you provided which was an earlier post of mine and an extract from the Never ending Book that I am writing, you would know that the pseudo tribe of Benjamin, was made up from children born to Benjaminite women who had married into the other tribes before the War in which Benjamin died.

Judas Iscariot belonged to the pseudo tribe of Benjamin, which tribe, after the release of the Jews from their Babylonian captivity was given the Land of ------- But why re-write that which I wrote some time ago.

As to where is that written at, that the whole tribe of Benjamin was destroyed.

I don't know where your getting your source of information from, but according to the bible/scriptures there were 600 people left of the tribe of Benjamin.

So the whole tribe of Benjamin was not destroyed. For there were 600 people left of the tribe of Benjamin.

Judges 20:47--"But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness unto the rock Rim-mon, and lived in the rock Rim-mon four months"

Therefore not all of the tribe of Benjamin was destroyed. As there were six hundred left of the tribe of Benjamin.
As Christ Jesus has the tribe of Benjamin listed in his book of Revelation 7:4-8.

Note that in Verse 8 there is the tribe of Benjamin listed, So not all of the tribe of Benjamin was destroyed.

Revelation 7:4-8---"
4- And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.

8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand"

Notice here in verse 8 is the tribe of Benjamin listed, so not all of the tribe of Benjamin was destroyed.
Notice the tribe of Benjamin is listed among the 144,000, in Revelation 7:4-8
So the whole tribe of Benjamin was not destroyed

Faithofchristian wrote…….. As to where is that written at, that the whole tribe of Benjamin was destroyed.

The Anointed…….. Try reading Judges 20: 48; The Israelites turned back against the rest of the Benjaminites and Killed them all, [Let me repeat that, “AND KILLED THEM ALL.”]----Men, women and children, even their animals as well.

Of all the people in the land of Benjamin, the only survivors, were 600 men from the tribe of Dan, who were unable to remove the original inhabitants in the coastal land that had been allocated to them, and were forced to live in the hill country with their brother tribe of Benjamin, See Judges 1: 34; “The Armorites forced the people of the tribe of Dan into the hill country and would not let them come down to the plains.”

Those six hundred Danites, who were the descendants of Hushim the adopted daughter of Dan and Shaharaim the Benjaminite, who had taken refuge at the Rock of Rim-mon, in the coastal country that had been allocated to the tribe of Dan, were given 600 virgin wives, and after Phinehas, the grandson of Aaron was given the Benjaminite city of Gibeah, and the land of Benjamin was taken over by the tribe of Judah, the 600 Danites, with their wives, their children and all their belongings, [This was all that was left of the entire tribe of Dan] Moved north in search of territory that they could call their own, and after taking the priest of Micah, ‘Jonathan’ the grandson of Moses and second cousin to Phinehas, as their priest with the silver idol of Micah, which I believe was that of an eagle, they moved into the land of Sidon, and killed all the peaceful inhabitants of the town of Laish and renamed it ‘DAN.’

And in the ships of Dan, they later became seafaring merchants, creating the city of Rome.

The tribe of Benjamin had been destroyed, and a pseudo tribe was created from the children of Benjaminite women who had married into the tribe of Judah before the war in which the tribe was destroyed.

Later on, after the northern tribes revolted against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, we read in 1 Kings 12: 21; "When rehoboam arrived in Jerusalem, he called together 180,000 of the best soldiers from Judah and Benjamin. But those were of the pseudo tribe of Benjamin, as only the tribe of Judah remained loyal to David’s descendants."

For we read in the previous verse, 1 Kings 12: 20; When the people of Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned from Egypt, they invited him to a meeting of the people and made him king of Israel. ONLY THE TRIBE OF JUDAH REMAINED LOYALTO DAVID’S DESCENDANTS.

The Anointed…….. Benjamin the 12 th son of Israel was lost, and for this reason ‘JUDAS Iscariot’ the 12th disciple chosen by Jesus was destined to be lost.

The name ‘Iscariot’ means “Man of Kerioth” and Hazor-Kerioth was the Land given to the pseudo tribe of Benjamin after their return from the Babylonian captivity.

Jesus had chosen the 12 Disciples, and it was the glorified Jesus, who chose Paul as the replacement to Judas Iscariot, the other apostles did not have that authority.

Paul who died as a prisoner in Rome, was the Son of a Roman mother and a father from the pseudo tribe of Benjamin, and it was he, who Jesus chose to gather in the required number of Gentiles to replace the 12,000 Benjaminites, as recorded in Revelation 7: 4-8..

According to what Christ Jesus given in his book of Revelation the tribe of Benjamin wasn't destroyed.
As Paul himself is of the tribe of Benjamin, so the tribe of Benjamin was not destroyed.

Romans 11:1--" I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin"
So therefore the tribe of Benjamin was not destroyed.
That even in the book of Revelation 7:8, the tribe of Benjamin is found written and was not destroyed.
