Born of God

Yes, you got part of it right. That which is born of the spirit IS spirit. Are you spirit? If I can see and touch you then you are NOT spirit. You are not born of the spirit.

that which is born of spirit is spirit. the spirit enlivens, quickens the flesh.

if god was your father, you would have understood. God is spirit and that which creates. the flesh can create nothing of itself but dust.

  1. to produce alive, begat or bear living young
  2. to cause to live, make alive, give life
    1. by spiritual power to arouse and invigorate
    2. to restore to life
    3. to give increase of life: thus of physical life
    4. of the spirit, quickening as respects the spirit, endued with new and greater powers of life
  3. metaph., of seeds quickened into life, i.e. germinating, springing up, growing

the flesh, this body, counts only for a vehicle. like a cup, it will be destroyed but the spirit/mind; which filled it, will live forever.

I am afraid that you saying "wrong" does not prove anything. There is a spirit in you but you yourself are flesh and blood. That spirit in you will be born after the physical you dies. Then yu will be spirit.
jesus was a spirit in the flesh.

that is why it is written,

Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exaltedamong the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

jesus realized the Father was in him and in others.

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

i can understand why you identify as a lost and wondering soul. be silent and know love.

. So if you can see and touch a flesh and blood person then that person is NOT born of the spirit. They will be born when they rise from their graves at the return of Jesus. Yes, please think and study. You will find a lot that differs from what is called "Christian".

1 John 5:1 KJV
1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

Who are those that are born of God?

John 1:12 - 14
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1:12-13 New International Version (NIV)
Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

It is Jesus who gives that right
That special right to become children of God
As Jesus is the Son of God
Who was born not of natural descent, nor human decision or a husband will but born of God
And Jesus having born of God could give the right to be a child of God.
Now how?

Galatians 3:26-27 New International Version (NIV)
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Yeah well, my contention is a mental/spiritual universe. So, no physical. Physical being an illusion.

the bible never condones, advocates idolatry. idolatry creates an imbalance between the one being idolized and the rest of god's being, or lambs. what you have done unto the least of these, you have done to me.

jesus took the father's name, as does the 144,000. colossians 3:11. the recognition of christ in all is not recognized, or believed by all. christ is already there even if the believer refuses, or doesn't understand how to awaken to it.

I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.

so like those who believed in the name, that name becomes theirs too. the right was always there. jesus took it too. jesus is the elder brother, he isn't the only child of god.

so you have proven what i already knew, that there are many manifestations of christ being of one mind, or one christ consciousness. christ isn't a single person. it is being of a certain state of mind.

I think it is more a manifestation of the spiritual but not an illusion. Just my view.

manifestations count for nothing, the flesh, or carnal is derived from the dust of the earth, worldly things

this becomes a problem for all those who promote idolatry, adultery.

sin must come but woe unto them through which it comes.

I'm not a dualist, so while I can agree that what we call the physical is a manifestation of the spiritual, it would still have to be spiritual. That's why I believe that what we call the physical is illusory and is in fact spiritual.

There is a difference between what is flesh and what is carnal. As a Christian, your body (physical body) is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Manifestations also include "miracles and gifts of healings" and I wouldn't call those carnal.

It's all connected. IMV... I just wouldn't call it illusionary since what we do in the body has a spiritual consequence (speaking with a Christian belief as the foundation for my position)

Actually, healing isn't a mental thing... mental comes from the soul. Faith is a spiritual force and comes from the spirit. Your spirit can say "yes" even when your soul says "no".
in both the OT and NT spirit = mind =

from the OT ruwach is a spirit, a mind, without a earthly body.

ruwach strongs H7307

pneuma strongs G4151

specifically
the spirit, i.e. the vital principal by which the body is animated

  1. the rational spirit, the power by which the human being feels, thinks, decides

  2. the soul
it comes from a root word; which means breath, or wind.

It says "believe in your heart" and not "believe in your mind".

Indeed, fleshly and carnal, is correctly defined.

mental and spiritual are synonymous.

I found great synonyms for "mental" on the new Thesaurus.com!

and the heart and mind must agree. heaven and earth are called into agreement.

"This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds."

"This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

logic and emotion become united to the Law of ONE.

soul, or nephesh, in the OT is a earthly thing, vehicle, inhabited by a ruwach.

in the NT

a soul, or psyche, is a vehicle, merkabah, inhabited by a pneuma. you know it as a temple of the spirit of God.

this why it is written

I AM that I AM, I WILL BE what I WILL BE.

everything is some aspect of the ABSOLUTE

plato wrote it as an allegory of the chariot

Plato's Chariot Allegory

The Allegory of the Chariot | Understanding Plato, Socrates, and Thumos | The Art of Manliness

Actually, if you do a deeper study, you will find that there is a difference.

1) Notice what you quoted:" from the OT ruwach is a spirit, a mind, without a earthly body." which is true... but there is a difference between a spirit and a mind though they are intertwined into one.
2) Notice that it is differentiated again in 1 Thes 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Spirit = pneuma; soul = Psuche

One has to read it in context to find out when it is referring to spirit or soul or both when it says "heart".

Again, notice what you quoted: "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts."

Where it says "mind" it is referring to the soul. When it says "hearts" it is referring to its spirit. Both work together but they are distinct. Knowledge is the strength of the mind and faith is the strength of the spirit.

It is good to see that you are studying and inquiring.

that ruwach is from god; which inhabits the temple of the body.

thus god on earth, in the earth.

you gotta let go of all our ghosts.

the kingdom of god is within you, behold the temple/tabernacle of god.

Rev 21:3 KJV And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

the fruit of the spirit is love. the result of the force is love realized.

may the force be with you

Ps 46:10 NIV He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earthly.”
