Theists: Atheism is a Religion?

I do not believe there is a cat in my shower. I do not have a pet cat and I do not see any way in which a cat could have come inside and made it into my shower without my knowledge. Thus, I lack belief in this shower-cat.

However, I can't say that I believe that there is no shower-cat at all. A cat sitting in my shower is a plausible thing, and I can't eliminate the possibility (short of going to look for myself).

Do you understand now how a lack of belief in a thing is different to actively disbelieving in that thing?

I see you have Faith, that you have a valid opinion.

Your 1 to 5 enumeration are noted.
The prophecies of the new testament [NT] were written after 33 AD and before 100 AD.
Since the NT prophecies were that old, they refer to events that will happen beyond 100 AD far in the future.

Example of which is:

Who wrote down the Book of Revelation? Apostle John.
Where did he wrote the Book of Rev? At the island of Patmos when he was in exile
What does it contain? Prophecies of things to come
When were they written down? before 100 AD

Revelation 6:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

History:
In 380 CE, the emperor Theodosius issued the Edict of Thessalonica, which made Christianity, specifically Nicene Christianity, the official religion of the Roman Empire. Most other Christian sects were deemed heretical, lost their legal status, and had their properties confiscated by the Roman state.

When was this written? before 100 AD
When was this fulfilled? 380 CE
Where was this fulfilled? Roman Empire
What does the white horse represent? Nicene Christianity
What does the bow represent? Edict of Thessalonica
What was the crown represent? Emperor Theodosius

What is the proof that the rider rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest?

And I'd say that fits into Category 4: Prophecies that are phrased in extremely vague terms so that they could mean anything.

Care to try again?

It's not a religious belief.

Some words have more than one meaning. But when someone acts as though one meaning is the same as another meaning, they are being intellectually dishonest, aren't they?

So STOP IT.

You seemed to be saying that because the Bible is old, therefore it must be true. So I was asking you what the age of it has to do with anything.

Have I misunderstood your point?

Not everything old is true
Not everything old is pleasant
The mold on my bread is old
But what ever this discussion about what is old
The old discussion that is
I could not remember
So I'm lost
That happens when I remove my thoughts of old
To new thoughts
This usually happens on us all.

If its a no contest to you, then it stands.
The prophecy was written 100 AD
History presented itself in 380 AD
Presto!

Unless you can top that - it stays as it is.

I'd rather move on.

Ha ha, no chance. Faith is life, even if we want to reject the fact.

But more than happy to wish for you all you want from life and wish you all the best of health, hapiness and wealth and leave it there.

Regards Tony

So, just making sure I've got it straight here...

You think that my belief that there is no cat sitting in my shower because I do not own a cat is ultimately the same kind of belief that a Christian has in God?

That doesn't seem unusual to you?

Like I said, the phrasing of the prophecy is so vague that it could mean anything. There could be any number of things that would have satisfied this prophecy. I could make a dozen prophecies with that kind of vague language before bedtime if I wanted to. Doesn't mean that whoever wrote it was divinely inspired or anything. Your prophecy is worthless.

So what is the first seal of the Revelation on your opinion?

Who says it is anything? People write all sorts of weird stuff every day. Want me to write something weird now? Okay, here you go.

The grass was melting as the cards roamed the streets, devouring all green and purple they encountered. The kitten pushed them back, declaring in a mighty voice: "I am the redeemer, no one shall watch movies again, save by my permission!"

See? It's easy. And there's a great deal in Revelation that suggests that whoever wrote it had been using hallucinatory substances. That makes it much easier to write weird stuff.
