To set the Lord always before you

I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. (psalm 16:8)

This to me means remember that God is with you always and at your right hand strengthening you. So to know that He is with you in whatever situation arises.
Jesus is still Immanuel "God with us".

For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. (Isaiah 41:13)

Psalm 16 was also used in the books of Acts by Peter as pointing to the resurrection

Psalm 16:8.-11 is quoted in Acts 2:25-28 about Jesus

25 For David says concerning Him:
I foresaw the Lord always before my face,
For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;
Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.
27 For You will not leave my soul in Hades,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’

additionally, Psalm 16:10b is quoted in Acts 13:35 also about Jesus

35 Therefore He also says in another Psalm:
his own generation by the will of God, saw corruption; 37 but He whom God raised up saw no corruption.

This and many Psalms can be read as an experience of David, but is pointing to something greater
in Jesus Some Psalms may be hyperbolically talking about the human author's experience and literally about Jesus.

Yes and whoever is in Jesus has it extended to them. The promises are from God through Christ to them. Just as the resurrection is. As Jesus said "I am the resurrection and the Life". So people will only be resurrected because Jesus was first.

I have heard disagreement that, "Your holy one" refers to Jesus and not to David. To me, it is clear that it is Jesus. What say you.

Jesus. The clue is that it speaks of the resurrection and as is pointed out by Peter in Acts 2:25-28; David's body did see corruption. He has been buried for a long time. The thing with Jesus is that since He was only dead 3 days; His body never decomposed. So Jesus perfectly fulfilled Psalm 16:10 and David does not. Although we do believe that David will be resurrected; in the mean time his body did decay away and is probably just dust at this point.
