When did Jesus die?

Indeed the Bible is a science fiction story that actually really happened in real time..

sorry I am not Asperger's you folks are wierd stick to easy stuff like quantum mechanics . The Bible is not Asperger's science fiction nonsense.

So you are ignorant as to the day that Jesus died, whether it was on the day of Passover or the first day of the festival of Unleavened Bread.

But then most people who claim that the bible is science fiction or a book of myths, are biblical ignoramuses, who have not a clue to the truths revealed within

But it wasn't a joke if I had used your 'facts'

And what facts had I presented? The only thing that I had said before your smart-*** response, was; "On what day was Jesus killed? "On the day of Passover or on the first day of the festival of Unleavened Bread.".

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Thats Sort of like trying to determine the elvish holiday after the third moon after of the spring soltice of middle Earth isn't it? Especially since the simarillon wasn't completed due to Tolkien dying.

I can't believe I have a degree in this nonsense but you folks are entertaining for sure.
I'm trying to figure out how divine inspiration fits into all this.

Muffled

Jesus in me
No one knows. That's one way to tell that the Christian story is false. They have to literally use astrology to calculate when Easter is.

I believe that does not follow.

I believe that is astronomy. It is simple historical fact that the Jewish calendar was a lunar calendar.

I believe it was the day before passover sabbath.

Correct! The Pascal Lamb of which Jesus was seen to be the reality, had to die between the two evenings on the day of preparation to the Passover.

The Hebrew” Exodus 12: 6; - בין הערבים beyn haarbayim, "between the two evenings.

Concerning the one-day festival of Passover: Exodus 12: 14; You must celebrate THIS DAY as a religious Festival to remind you of what I the Lord have done. Celebrate IT [The one-day Festival of Passover] for all time to come.

The Jews divided their 12 hour daylight period that followed their 12 hour period of Darkness, into morning and evening: Up until mid-day, all was morning or fore-noon; after that, all was afternoon or evening. Their first evening began just after twelve o'clock as the sun began its descent toward the horizon, and continued till sunset; their second evening began at dusk and continued till dark.

The Lambs were killed between Mid-day and sunset of the thirteenth day of Nisan, [3 PM, the time of the day when Jesus was killed] the lambs were eaten in the evening of the 14th day of Nisan which was the beginning of the 24 hour day of Passover, which finished at sunset, which was the beginning of the 15th day of Nisan, the first day of the seven day Festival of Unleavened Bread, that followed the 24 hour day of Passover.

Leviticus 23: 5; The Passover, celebrated to honour the Lord, begins at sunset, the beginning of the 14 th day of the first month. On the 15th day the festival of Unleavened Bread begins, etc.

By the time of Jesus, the Jews had incorporated the day of Passover into their seven day festival of Unleavened Bread, but Jesus, the reality of the Passover Lamb, still held the Passover meal with his disciples in the evening and beginning of the 14 th day of the first month, but instead of eating a Pascal Lamb, the disciples ate the bread and wine, which were symbolically the body of Christ, the reality of the sacrificial lamb.

And Jesus died on the day of preparation to the then Jewish Passover, which was eaten by the Jews in the evening of the 15 th, the first day of the seven-day Festival of Unleavened Bread.

Asteroid insurance?
Depends which Gospel you read. The synoptic gospels say the day of the passover and the gospel of John says the day of preparation. Some say the gospel of John refers to Jesus as the "lamb of God", so sticking with killing the lamb on the day of preparation, the writer of John tied the crucifixion to the same day.

Ranting about insignificant things like when Jesus died, only distracts from doing what is vital and important.

Yea, like the saying "cant we all just get along...", see how far that goes...

The actual day that Christ was crucified will be always debated by scholars and theologians. It's a never ending debate like politics and which view is correct one for a nation. This subject displays some of the flaws of the bible has, limited accuracy of important events and leaving certain things in a grey area for self interpretation.

The only flaws in the bible are erroneous interpretations of the original by scholars, who make erroneous assumptions of what has been recorded.

For instance, 1 Chronicles 2:16; it is said that King David had two sisters, Zeruiah and Abigail, The authors of the Good News Bible, Catholic Study Edition, assuming that if David had two sisters, they had to have been sired by Jesse the father of David, and have erroneously interpreted verse 16 as; "He (Jesse) also had two daughters Zeruiah and Abigail. Not knowing that the mother of David, who was not the mother of Jesses other six sons, had once been a concubine of King Nahash to who she bore two girls, Zeriah and Abigail and a son, who is the eighth son (Adopted) of Jesse, as recorded in 1 Samuel 17: 12; where it is said that Jesse had eight sons, whereas in 1 Chronicles 2: 13; in the genealogy of Jesse, it is revealed that he had only sired seven sons, the youngest of which was David.

Once you eliminate the erroneous interpretations in scripture, you will have little difficulty in discovering , the actual day that Jesus was crucified.

If the death and resurrection of Jesus were real events, and were the most important events in human history, why did no one bother to write down when they happened? And it's not because it was 2000+ years ago. We know the exact date that Julius Caesar was assasinated, we know the exact date of Cleopatra's death, Mark Antony's birth, etc. The fact that we don't know the real date of Jesus' death is a good clue that the Easter story is a made-up sham.

So you believe that Jesus died at 3 PM on Friday, and was buried just on dusk?

Knowing that the Jewish day began at sunset and consisted of 12 hours of darkness followed by 12 hours of day light, you claim that Jesus was only dead for Saturday night and Saturday and Sunday night, two nights and one day.

To believe you, one would have to accuse Jesus, who said he would be dead for three days and three nights, as being a false prophet. Good luck with that mate.
Yes, Jesus said the ONLY sign that he was the Son of God would be three full days and three full nights in the tomb. No one believes him. Even the church that claims to have all the answers.
