Differing Ideas on the Holy Trinity and the Nature of God

I think looking at the Trinity as relational is helpful

And that, I think, is key to understanding the Trinity and we share in this communion of love beyond the Trinity through grace.
"For him, the love spoken of in Romans 5:5 "God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us" is none other than the love with which the Father eternally loves the Son. It is an overflow of the Trinity's divine love to us. God "raises the soul most sublimely, and informs her that she may breathe in God the same breath of love that the Father breathes in the Son."
from John of the Cross as quoted in "Contemplating the Trinity" by Raniero Cantalamessa.
Personally I would understand the Trinity simply, the Lover, the Beloved and the Love between them indwelled in us through grace.
