Why fake? They were probably set up by the National Geographic crew making the documentary. I doubt if those "geniuses" could think of a reasonable test on their own. After all one has to have some serious cognitive dissonance, a mental illness, or severe mental handicap of some sort to believe that the Earth is flat

Fake as in, the proof was a set up by round earthers to illustrate how dumb flat earthers are? Perhaps, but it certainly wouldn't be far off.
