Why I never use turn signals when I drive.

Deuteronomy 5:32 (NRS) You must therefore be careful to do as the Lord your God has commanded you; you shall not turn to the right or to the left.
:)
That would explain the decision to go straight through the red sea instead of looking for a ferry. I always wondered about that. Why didn't they just take the ferry? I would have sent a couple of guys up and down looking for the nearest ferry and then crossed there, but obviously they couldn't do that since they had to go straight.

There is nothing there about turn signals. You can use turn signals all you want. But turning is another matter. And even then you can turn upside down all you want. And there's nothing there about a self-driving car. If the car turns but you have not done so, you are also just hunky-dory.

But wait, the definition of 'turn' is "move in a circular direction wholly or partly around an axis or point." You can change direction all you want but not in a circular way. A sudden change of direction with no hint of a circle is just fine.

But is that even close to the meaning of the word 'turn'?

bend back (the edge of a blade) so as to make it blunt.
"thou hast also turned the edge of his sword"

So now we come to see that what God intended was that you not mess up your sword.

Or perhaps God meant that thou shalt not "remake (a garment or a sheet), putting the worn outer side on the inside." which of course means to try to hide your faults from Him.

Building on this... what does G-d say about a gentle swerve every now and again. Ya know, a little oopsie-doopsie into the next lane?
