If you are looking for simular events that mirrored Jesus life, then the Life of the Bab is worth a study. It shows that Jesus Christ was wise when He said look for the fruits of faith.

This link, in my 2nd post has a PDF of the simular events between the Bab and Jesus the Christ.

Similarities between the Bab and Jesus

There are many so will not post them all, here are a few;

 Both Their comings (births) were preceded by a celestial display, a heavenly sign, Christ: Star of Bethlehem (Christmas Star); the Báb: a fiery comet [RS], and the star-fall of 1833 & Sirius B in 1844 [GKG].
 The Book of Daniel in the Old Testament of the Bible prophesizes the coming of both Christ and the Báb, Christ: Daniel 9:24; the Báb: Daniel 8:13-17.
 Both Christ and the Báb came from humble backgrounds – Christ the son of a carpenter, the Báb a merchant from Shiraz. Both followed in these backgrounds, and excelled in Their profession and
were always fair in Their dealings.
 Both were from the religious background and practiced the Faith that was prevalent at the time, Christ: Judaism, the Báb: Islam.
 Both were descendants of Abraham (‘Prophets of the children of Israel’ [SAQ]), through his three wives (see Genesis, Chapter 25).
 Both were youthful when They public declared Their mission, Christ: 30 (Luke 3:23), the Báb: 25.
 An important woman in Each of Their lives, who were relatives, were aware of Their divinity before They declared Themselves or started Their public ministries, Christ: Mary, the mother of
Jesus, the Báb: Khadíjih Bagum, the wife of the Báb.
 Both received the Holy Spirit of God, Christ: ‘the descent of the Dove upon Christ in the Jordan’; the Báb: ‘the dream of the Báb, in which the blood of the Imam Husayn touched and sanctified His
lips’ [MA] [GPB]
 Both demonstrated the radiance and authority of God when They were very young, and were acknowledged as manifesting ‘remarkable evidences of superhuman wisdom’. [RS]
 “Neither had any physical defects.” [GKG]

Sources? Also i found this don't know if it's reliable haven't looked into the sources it cites yet...:

Krishna and Christ: Debunking the Parallels between Jesus and Krishna

The Srimad Bhagavatam, aka Bhagavata Purana, Canto X (chapter 10).

The information in that link is correct. It can be found in the SB and Uddhava Gita (“Conversation with Uddhava”) of the Mahabharata.

Krishna’s departure is believed to be in 3102 BCE, so that would make it about 5,000 years ago. I misspoke when I said about 1,200 years earlier than the Jesus story.

Isaiah didn't predict the coming of Christ.

How is Bab related to Abraham and Keturah?

Thoughts?
.

Same could be claimed about many. Those are not the things that make Jesus great. It is the teachings of Jesus that makes him special. Do you know what Horus taught?

But are those claims about Horus just made up so that Jesus would look less impressive?

Thoughts?

You could post a list of how Jesus was really based on Ronald McDonald and people on the internet would be stupid enough to believe it...

Ronald McDonald (1 million BC)
Born of the virgin Grimace
Baptised by the Hamburgler
Had 12 disciples
Was crucified by the Burger King then came back to life
etc.

What is so special about the "teachings of Jesus"?

What's a legitimate scholar? One you agree with?
Scholars that are professional and honest in their academic profession of religion and history

1. Professional scholars unanimously reject the claim that Jesus is a pagan copy.

Today just about every scholar in the relevant historical specializations unanimously rejects the notion that Jesus is a copy of pagan gods. It seems that the available evidence has persuaded them against these alleged parallels. For instance, T.N.D Mettinger of Lund University opines:

“There is, as far as I am aware, no prima facie evidence that the death and resurrection of Jesus is a mythological construct…”

Warner Wallace, a former homicide detective, who himself looked into the allegations found that “The more you examine the nature of the gods who were worshiped before Jesus, the more you will notice their dissimilarities and the dishonesty of trying to compare them to the historical Jesus.”

Professor Ronald Nash, a prominent philosopher and theologian notes in his writing ‘Was the New Testament Influenced by Pagan Religions?’: “Allegations of an early Christian dependence on Mithraism have been rejected on many grounds. Mithraism had no concept of the death and resurrection of its god and no place for any concept of rebirth—at least during its early stages.” Nash then goes on to say,

“Today most Bible scholars regard the question as a dead issue.”

Another leading New Testament scholar Professor Craig Keener writes that: “When you make the comparisons, you end up with a whole lot more differences than you do similarities.”

JZ Smith, a historian of religion and Hellenistic religions claims that:

“The idea of dying and rising gods is largely a misnomer based on imaginative reconstructions and exceedingly late or highly ambiguous texts.”

Michael Bird, who is on the editorial board for the Journal for the Study of the Historical Jesus, as well is a Fellow of the Centre for Public Christianity, clearly shows his annoyance when he writes:

“Now I am normally a cordial and collegial chap, but to be honest, I have little time or patience to invest in debunking the wild fantasies of “Jesus mythicists”, as they are known. That is because, to be frank, those of us who work in the academic profession of religion and history simply have a hard time taking them seriously.”
