What is the bible's view on being rich?

Quick answer - Be rich toward God.
(Luke 12:21) . . .So it goes with the man who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.”
(Matthew 6:20) Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Go to a Prosperity Gospel meetin' and find out!
(you do know that the popularity of the bible
rests in large part on how one can find in it
verses that will say anything you want them to say)
They will have you shoutin' in no time!

The Name it and Claim it, Prosperity gospel is not the gospel of the Bible.
And people respond by reading what confirms their biases. Such as what "rich" means (worldly wealth) versus (rich in the spirit).
So which of the 200+ english language versions of the bible and who knows how many in other languages contains the gospel of the bible?

Probably all that are legitimate translations from the Hebrew and Greek contain the gospel or good news about Jesus.

Yeah, but the problem is that everyone finding something different and making claims is not the way to read the Bible.
Scripture Interprets Itself consistently:
a) in the verse,
b) in the context, or
c) where it has been used before, and
d) in light of the social-historical contexts in which it was written.

Bodes ill for many preachers, doesn't it?
