What is the bible's view on being rich?

This sums it up..

Matthew 19:24 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."

Mark 10:25 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."

Quick answer - Be rich toward God.
(Luke 12:21) . . .So it goes with the man who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.”
(Matthew 6:20) Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
(1 Timothy 6:17-19) Instruct those who are rich in the present system of things not to be arrogant, and to place their hope, not on uncertain riches, but on God, who richly provides us with all the things we enjoy. 18 Tell them to work at good, to be rich in fine works, to be generous, ready to share, 19 safely treasuring up for themselves a fine foundation for the future, so that they may get a firm hold on the real life.

Considering that god conferred it on people, he must like it.

1 Samuel 2:7
The Lord makes some poor, and he makes others rich. He humbles some people, and he honors others.

1 Kings 3:13

And I will also give you what you did not ask for. You will have riches and honor all your life. There will be no other king in the world as great as you.

2 Chronicles 1:12
So I will give you wisdom and knowledge, but I will also give you wealth, riches, and honor.

Proverbs 8:21

I give riches to those who love me, and I fill their houses with treasures.

Proverbs 22:2

The rich and the poor are the same. The Lord made them all.

Ecclesiastes 6:2
God gives some people great wealth, riches, and honor. They have everything they need and everything they could ever want.

haha. Exactly as I said; everyone finds something
different, and, they pretty much all claim to have
the one right readin'.

Did ever you hear of a really-o, truly-o Scottsman?

Probably all that are legitimate translations from the Hebrew and Greek contain the gospel or good news about Jesus.

Yeah, but the problem is that everyone finding something different and making claims is not the way to read the Bible.
Scripture Interprets Itself consistently:
a) in the verse,
b) in the context, or
c) where it has been used before, and
d) in light of the social-historical contexts in which it was written.

Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Bodes ill for many preachers, doesn't it?
