Oh. You gonna have fun here. They always fight over food.
Good one ^ above ^ because I suppose people will even fight over what Jesus said at John 4:34 that his food was to do his Father's will or purpose for him.
We are Not to labor for perishable food, but ' spiritual ' food leading to everlasting life as per Jesus at John 6:27-29.
A Jew, a Catholic, & a Muslim walk into a bar, & say....
"Did you hear the one about us?"
All in a span of 3 years? We have a lot of lifelong practitioners of all of those points in the spectrum. I curious why blow past them all so quickly?
You are welcome, but (in my opinion) this is the wrong forum for finding out what your religion should be. This one is geared towards getting people in different religions to converse. You might find something that interests you though, and we have got some channels for seeking. We don't allow preaching, and we don't really have the means to educate someone about religions. We allow some limited debate and discussion, and that's about it. I think only a handful of people have converted to anything during my six years here, and that was their own doing not due to any program we were running.
If you are really looking for God, maybe you are looking in the wrong places. I doubt you will find Him in witchcraft and atheism.
You got me! What do you write? Which Star Trek?
I write mostly poetry and prose. I used to read a lot. I'm a Captain Kirk rookie.
Welcome
Oh jesus I'm not realizing what I got myself into.
I mainly write prose. Sci-fi and fantasy, really. I'm currently writing a book centered around an Illuminate-like figure. My favorite Star Trek series has to be DS9 (*gasp*), but I've watched through and enjoyed Next Generation and Voyager. I'm also watching Discovery as it's airing and I really love that.
I hope that made sense.
You know. My mother practiced witchcraft. I was always into magic all types entertainment and otherwise. Spirits in our home and all. Dropped it for medical reasons. Met a catholic friend, became catholic for some odd reason. Let seven years ago (three years there as an adult). Practiced Buddhism. Still have the beliefs but don't practiced. Found a home church I haven't been to in awhile. Came back the Unitarian Universalist Church. Told them I wanted to be part of their family. Will be there the rest of my life in one way or another.
All spiritual journeys are unique whether we find god, drop god, do the chacha, or fly to the moon. All natural. Don't let anyone tell you its not.
Haha.
Nice. I've always wanted to write a book ever since elementary school. Never got around to the discipline. Instead, I want to put my poems and prose together as a poetic-memoir of sorts.
did you notice?.....I'm sure you didHi everyone, I'm new.
My name is Viktor and I'm an Atheistic Satanist who's views mostly align with the Satanic Temple. I was raised in the not-so-best Christian church (ya' boy has been through two exorcisms) before leaving the church at around 13 because of family issues. I was an atheist for a good while before discovering Wicca and all that jazz. From there I jumped from Wicca to traditional witchcraft to the New Age to just about everything on the Pagan spectrum.
As I played hot potato with spirituality, I started to realize how much I take as metaphor instead of literal fact. All of it, really, was just metaphor to me. That's when I found out I was an atheist who likes the occult aesthetic and thinks a lot like a Satanist. So there's the tldr of my religious life and I'm still 16.
Why is a 16-year-old on a religious forum? I'm curious about the world and how people view it, so might as well do some soul searching on the way. I like thinking differently than how I do, hearing about other's experiences, etc etc. And hey, we all had to start somewhere, right?
Outside of the religious aspects- or lack thereof- of my life, I am a creative writing student in high school with aspirations of becoming an author. I'm an obsessive fan of Star Trek who also enjoys shows like The 100, Lucifer, The Orville, and Victoria. I am the DM for my group's D&D campaign, so there's some brief insight into my current mental state. In terms of music, I'm a fan of synthwave and heavy metal ('cause, you know, there's a lot of overlap there).
So there's my introduction. I can't wait to meet everyone on here and hopefully learn more about myself along the way. Heck, maybe I'll even find god.
Adios,
Viktor
did you notice?.....I'm sure you did
your tv habits are spiritual
oh yeah....I'm very sureStar Trek: a show about space and exploration with heavy atheist themes
The 100: a bunch of teens gets yoot to Earth to see if its survivable
Lucifer: you got me there but-
The Orville: HA!
Victoria: tells about the reign of Queen Victoria
I mean, you sure about that? But thanks for the welcome.

Adios,
Viktor
oh yeah....I'm very sure
the ironic kick in the head.....the creator of Star Trek is said to be an atheist
but hey!.....one episode after another....
the captain and crew are faced with entities and powers beyond human
the humans tend to prevail....
but hey again....it's science fiction
Hi Viktor, nicely written intro, its almost as though you enjoy writing ;-)
Welcome to RF, enjoy.
well....I think you're mixing up TV writing with spirituality. Of course they would have to win or else the show is canceled. I am failing to see the spiritual side of good writing.
well...
Picard's
well....
there's Picard and the Dowd
Picard and the Q
there's the original Star Trek opening episode
a freak accident empowers two of the crew with godlike abilities
Tralane.....the offspring of disembodied Voices
Tin Man....not a god per se
but the extreme play on mind to mind
is speculation of spirit to spirit 'oneness'
and so forth and so on
Once again, I'm not sure what you're getting at? Just because they are "beyond human" doesn't make them god or the like. They are just... well, not human! Star Trek was about exploring humanity through the exploration of the universe. It is a lot easier to identify and solve societal problems when you put those problems on other races.
And the original Star Trek episode? The one where Kirk gets stranded in an alien zoo? Or the one with the alien who loves salt?
There is such a thing as over-analyzing a piece, you know? Grabbing at straws to fit a narrative. It is nice to see a semblance of your beliefs in media, sure, but that doesn't mean it is about your beliefs. It's just a TV show.
religion....which I have none...
is all about dealing with Something Greater
Star Trek is all about dealing with greater entities
without religion
