Except nobody with an iota of sense believes the wall will impact drug trafficking, which goes primarily through legal checkpoints, the mail system and via airplanes. Sam Quinones: Border walls won't stop drug trafficking from Mexico. Here's what might.
The areas where drugs cross by land the most are places which already have walls.

That's a fact that I've never understood why so many on the right are unable to grasp. Given the sheer volume of illegal drugs that come from outside the country, how exactly are the immigrants walking across the southern border (those who the wall is supposed to stop) bringing it all in? Are they walking hundreds of miles through the desert with enormous backpacks and pull carts?

Most of the drugs don't come across the Southern border , and even if they did, a wall wouldn't stop them. The majority of illegal drugs coming into the US come in theough ports of entry.
