Behold He is Becoming

and when i was young,
yeah....I remember....the slings and arrows of outrageous youth....

and I had long curly brown hair
the girls just love it

and strangers would say to me.....You look like....Him

if you are familiar with a brown colored portrait by Werner....
yep....but I had a bit more wave action

so....would it be like looking into a mirror?

not quite

I suspect the reflection He would be seeking has nothing to do about
appearances

then why do some idolize jesus?

Who wrote this? "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him."

Some idolize Jesus for WHAT HE IS, NOT HOW HE APPEARED.
In fact Jesus' lack of physical beauty, and definitely, lack of charisma,
was to prevent the wrong people following him. You had to accept
this lowly, unattractive, uneducated, un-charismatic man from the
wrong side of town FOR WHAT HE SAID.

Furthermore, people who present Jesus as some Anglo Celtic
demi-god figure simply miss the point why many loved him.

The first question one should ask is: Who exactly was Jesus? Was he even perfect? Was he a little arrogant? Did he have a bit of an anger problem? Did he think he was above the law up until he got smacked silly at the end of his life? What would Jesus stand for today? Would he stand by his Christians?

He claimed that he would walk the earth as a normal human being, and everyone would treat him exactly as they would the lesser man. So if he came with an unpopular belief about religion, would anyone listen to him or consider him crazy? If he came again, would everyone expect him to be perfect? If he came again, would everyone expect him to be extremely blessed or would he be cursed?

More than trying to figure out who the messiah could be, should one be trying to look into the scriptures to better define what to look for in the messiah?

One thing that can be said about Jesus - he was quite narrow minded.
Astonishingly so to the modern liberal mind.

many moons ago.....when I was soooooo much younger
a tv evangelical Garner Ted Armstrong
read a description of the Carpenter as He was observed by a Pharisee
on that fateful day
riding into the Holy City on the back a pack animal

something like ......His hair and beard was parted in center
a common practice
the color of ripe chestnut and of the same texture
breaking into waves just above His ears
and in length to His shoulders

He was bare chested
His arms and chest were magnificent to see

hmmmm
seems we could have passed for brothers

those who practice the cult of personality, who worship him as better than other as self, are practicing idolatry.

the bible strictly forbids it. as did jesus.

hmmm......by coincidence
a line of thought played through me just moments ago....

so.....who is greater?
you ?.....or the Carpenter?

but before answering that....
choose a person you admire.....let's say.....for strength
and the admiration is dealt for the greater strength that person has
just that one quality for the moment

so....the strong guy decides he likes to follow someone else.....the Carpenter

you come along and declare yourself greater
the Carpenter scoffs
the strong guy draws sword

and there you are

The bible does not forbid you from worshiping
the Father or the Son. In fact, that is your whole
duty.

the bible forbids idolatry to anything created, begotten, formed, shaped; whether in heaven, or on earth. having reverence for what god makes of itself is acceptable but not one above another. jesus even told you, what you do unto the least valued of another, you do unto me. do unto others as you would have done unto.

you were given a new commandment and it was to love unconditionally.
