Yet you are using that to judge.
See Matthew 7:1
Of course! Courts use the same standards to make judgments: people's actions.

Who are your close friends? Pimps? What about drug dealers?

If not, then you are judging.

Jesus has standards, too: "You are my friends if you do what I tell you."

If people habitually disregard Jesus' commands, then they are not his friends, despite their protestations to the contrary. -- Matthew 7:23

Courts are using the law of the land, often as a consensus of several qualified judges.

Who the fk are you to ask ignorant and insulting questions like that. We are done.

What should be the punishment for adultery?

Edit: the poll is about a person who is in a committed Marriage relationship with an opposite sex, who has a sexual relation with another person outside of the Marriage. Should there be a punishment for this case?

Adultery is awful and disgusting, better to think of how to prevent it than punishing it.
what would you feel if you know that your wife was sleeping with a guy and they spent
a wonderful hours together in the bed, will you think of a punishment or you may think
of leaving her forever.

Punishment is to show how awful is the act itself, but I believe the best solution is divorce.

I applaud your liberalism, for it is against the fundamental law of Baha’u’llah that unmarried fornicators should go unpunished by society. Congratulations on joining the ranks of free thinkers :)
Do you think the denizens of Sodom and Gamorrah would agree with you?

What the guy (or woman) thinks if their other half is in a relationship with a third person depends entirely on the guy (or woman)

Here is a rhetorical question. Is adultery any better or worse than rape?

Um, you know that one of the reasons the divorce rate is so low in places like Chicago (and therefore Illinois) is because of the large number of people didn’t get married in the first place, right? Are you seriously suggesting divorce is somehow worse than rampant unwed families?

I’ll see your “huh” and raise you an “I don’t think so.”

Voted other as marriage itself is not a legal contract like other contracts which can be breached and resolved in civil court. At best any punishment is monetary and covered in a divorce. If there is no divorce the non-cheating partner has declined to press the matter in court and in the relationship.

I didnt create the maps or stats which relate to divorce, not to people who didnt get married. One thing about divorce, it implies marriage.

Seen and raised...

Are you seriously suggesting i even mentioned unwed families?
