FTA: “A small team of Israeli scientists think they might have found the first complete cure for cancer.

“We believe we will offer in a year’s time a complete cure for cancer,” said Dan Aridor, of a new treatment being developed by his company, Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies Ltd. (AEBi), which was founded in 2000 in the ITEK incubator in the Weizmann Science Park. AEBi developed the SoAP platform, which provides functional leads to very difficult targets.”

There many kinds of cancers. If they were claiming a generic pill or injection then, no. What they have is apparently a way to customize treatment, so it could work. The trick is to identify and selectively mark the cancerous cells so as to target them using the bodily immune system. This is not going to be cheap though. Its not a pill that cures all cancers but a system, and a patient will have to be tested and the cancers biopsy'd. Then somebody will have to process that and make a specific cure agent for that patient.

I just hope that there are not unintended consequences, inshallah. There are several movies that provide a warning. :)

It'll be interesting to see what peer review has to say.

I'm a bit of a skeptic though, not that there would be a cure, but more like they simply don't want a cure for cancer but rather something to control cancer, so medical institutions can make much more money with controls then they can make for any outright cure.

Science related articles on regular news sites are almost always not true as journalists do not understand how the scientific community operates.
