Clarification is not back peddling. Atheism is not always acknowledged by people who act in godless ways.

Godlessness is atheistic in practice although not always in words.

Have you actually read the bible, i mean all the bible including the nasty, hateful bits (lots) that god condones such as genocide, slavery, murder, rape, land theft, prostitution etc?

wandering peacefully

Which way to the woods?
You are in a plain sealed room, no entrance, no exit, just a switch on a plinth in the middle of the room with a warning label,

END OF THE WORLD SWITCH

WARNING

DO NOT TOUCH

Would you flip the switch or not, and why?

Edit : the room is empty with no food or water.
I would not touch the switch. Why would I kill everything on the planet instead of just dying? What kind of life would I have living with having done that? No thanks.

The switch is irrelevant.
I'd look at the plinth.
Thus, I saw the plinth.
I'd use the saw to cut the plinth in two.
Putting the plinth back together, it would be whole.
Taking the hole from the whole, I'd escape thru it.

I'd heard that solution before.
You know me....I only regurgitate.
(The standard quiz is about a table rather than a plinth...which is a
seldom used word in common discourse. Good on you for that.

I have a carpentry background, so "plinth" is a trim element.
And the statuary context is rather highfalutin for us commoners.
I also speak a little French....

Methinks you are on your own in what you see, the statistics are quite plain.

Since you were not clear on the particular stats that you are referring to in that comment, (it helps if you are more specific) here are some stats on the state of the world that I believe is going to end......and needs to. Since man can't fix the problems of desperate humanity that he created, then God must. He says he will....but you don't have to believe it for it to take place.

Tell 68 million people that everything is going to be OK.....

Forced displacement above 68m in 2017, new global deal on refugees critical

Ahh, predictions, how clever that people can make them fit any scenario. I am not surprised you wear predictions that suit you like a well fitting suit.

I wear it because I see what the Bible predicts taking place before my eyes. Again, if you can't see it, that is nothing to do with me.

Perhaps you need to tell that to all the religious hypocrites.

I do at every opportunity.....like Jesus did. Not because I am perfect, but because people are often not aware of how far Christendom has strayed from the teachings of Jesus Christ.
I don't do it for those who couldn't give a hoot. But not everyone is in that category.

Considering there are around 50,000 sects of Christianity i find it amusing you dis made up religions

For those who actually know what the Bible says (rather than those who just assume that they do) it's not hard to identify the wheat from the weeds. Just as it is easy to tell the difference between a well behaved and disciplined child from a spoiled brat.

Like all counterfeits, some are easy to pick, some not so easy. Does a person need to know what every counterfeit looks like to pick one?.....or do you just have to know what the real one looks like and compare.

Judaism was also broken up into sects when Jesus walked the earth....he dissed them all.

I am sure the religious child dying painfully of leukemia chose their god with care.

And here again you judge the situation in ignorance. What do you know about the personal circumstances of those children who reject the orthodox treatments (also very painful and involving a lot of suffering) Do you have personal experience? Or just going on what others tell you. If you could speak to those children, as many judges have done, you would understand why the judges who bothered to get some accurate feedback from the children themselves, ruled against forcing such treatment on them. It isn't blood that saves their lives...it simply prolongs the dying process. Can you not respect their right to choose death instead of more suffering?

Ignorance speaks loud with only half a story.

And i see you are forcing your personality onto your god. Think on that for a moment before you thonk about what this thread it about

Actually, it is God's personality that I am trying to emulate. I don't do it perfectly, but I know religious hypocrisy when I see it. If I didn't know what the Bible teaches along with a sound knowledge of Bible and secular history, I too could read the Bible on a surface level as many do and come to shallow conclusions. With no attempt to evaluate the times and attitudes of the past, but instead, dragging in present attitudes to judge past actions, I could become a disgruntled atheist too I guess. As they say...."a little knowledge is a dangerous thing". Especially is this true with regard to the Creator and his word.

Ignore it....misinterpret it....dis it...do whatever your heart dictates. We are all shaping our own future. This world will end.....but we determine whether we will end with it. That is what the Bible teaches me.

I too lost a childhood friend to Leukemia. Shelly and I met as playmates when I was 9 and by age 11 she was gone.
The heartbreak of seeing her thin and pale and in a wheel chair is still vivid to this day.
Learning about the resurrection hope of Shelly coming back to life, I look forward to seeing her again.

Satan challenges all of us according to Job 2:4-5
' Touch our flesh...." (loose physical health) and we would Not serve God under such adverse conditions.
Both Job and Jesus proved Satan a liar and so can we. Thus, Jesus holds the resurrection keys- Revelation 1:18.
