If you were Christ and walked into this **** show...

I'm not sure if you meant "If you were Jesus coming back from Heaven" or "If you were Jesus, living in the first century, and were suddenly brought to our time".
If you meant the first one, then I would care for the sick, punish those who prey on others and provide for those in need.

If you meant the second, then I think that if I were Jesus and I walked into the world the way it is now that I would be completely overwhelmed by the many ways the world has changed since the Pax Romana.
I also suspect that I would be saddened to learn the many terrible things that have been done in my name.

OK, I said what I meant... as I always do. I don't see why the majority of y'all think my words are left up for interpretation and or debate.

Well, he'd never be brought from the 1st century to the 21st century, time doesn't work like that. So, let's say he came from wherever he was into 2018.

EXACTLY what I wanted to hear for EXACTLY the wrong reason. OVERWHELMED, but not because of how he sees the world has changed since the "peace" provided by the Roman Empire. It's far less politically chaotic than it was when he met Abraham at Mamre. Sadden him to learn the many terrible things that have been done in my name. Only if he knew who you were, does he?

I don't know what "what is the modern-day Caesar's and what is God's and render unto accordingly." means, dumb it down for me.

A full discussion is here Render unto Caesar - Wikipedia but the summary is that Jesus was asked if it was OK to pay taxes to Caesar which was a trick question given the political situation of the time. He asked to see a Roman coin and then whose picture was on it (Caesars). The "render unto" was his response.

It's often interpreted to mean that secular authority should be obeyed and that the Kingdom of God was something else entirely.

The verse itself is from Matt 22:

17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

Would you say "**** THIS" and run (not really an option, although at times he wishes it was) and if not.. what would YOU do?

I'd find a religious forum and post a question asking what others would do, because as Christ, I'd be highly dependent on the personal opinions of sinners.

OR................................................ you posted it to get others to step into the shoes of another and think, what the HELL would I do if no one was trying to hear **** I had to say and claimed to know "the truth" without providing any proof... then when I said the truth they condemn what I have to say before even investigating due to pride...

Nope. It's not my place to judge others for what they think. They are free to think what they will.

You wove in words basically insinuating my endeavors made no sense because it seems you thought it'd be unlike Christ to take into consideration the opinion of sinners?

Not at all. You asked what I'd do if -I- were Christ. Salix is not Christ, and has and entirely different worldview. He realizes that each has his own reality to experience and does not view people as sinners or saints. He has an appreciation and understanding of what they are and views them without judgment.

Ok, I don't know where Salax came from but I agree, she's not Christ. Each is experiencing reality, individually but for another. I don't see good and evil, I know there's no such thing. That's what the true knowledge of good and evil is.

I don't judge, people judge themselves judging me. The most painful part of being me, I try to gingerly drop subtle hints and MANY click, but some don't. They cut themselves off from me and all I wanted to do was help them do Gods will for them. Rid them of guilt and resentment of the past and fear of the future so their minds would stop swinging back and forth from the past to the future and back again like a pendulum. I just witness it.

Bittersweet Symphony, automated and streamlined. I told you why I was born into this world, said it plain as day. But NO ONE KNOWS, dumbfounds me.

I can sympathize but not empathize... I don't see what is I see potential because I remember what it was like and how happy yall were. THAT is why I fight.

Loving God and my neighbor as myself.
Well, Jesus was an observant Jew like me, so I guess he would respond the same way I respond.

1. Look for every way, no matter how small, to make the world a better place. It might be smiling at someone who looks down. It might be helping the kid next door with her homework. It might be giving a breakfast bar to someone on the street that is holding a sign saying "hungry, please help." It might be talking to someone who is suicidal and keeping them alive. I never know the significance of what I do. I tend to think of myself as a small player. But hey, maybe someone I help will go on to be a big player.

2. Keep my eyes open for the good, because gosh darnit there is love and joy and truth and beauty out there. Develop an "attitude of gratitude" for the wonders of life, whether it is a birdsong, or a baby being born, or the fact that compared to earlier in history, we are in a time of incredible peace and prosperity. May I bless God 100 times a day for all the things he has given to me, to you, to all of us.

3. Don't sweat the small stuff, and after a life of suffering, I can tell ya, it's ALL small stuff.

I notice in the above you say "at times he wishes it was" - meaning that at times you feel Christ wishes it was an option to run. Is this a present-tense statement? As in - you feel you presently know the desires and will of Christ? Or is this based on quotes and things found in the Bible, like his "why have you forsaken me?"

If I was Jesus from what I know now and seeing this I'd be sad for humanity however be hopeful. This video sums up how I would feel. I have hope because the example my mother left A woman dying of cancer but still had the audacity to take care of psychiatric patients because of her duty to humanity:

1. I found your question to be unclear, and others did as well. I am not trying to be rude or difficult, I just want to make sure that we understand each other.

2. From my standpoint, both scenarios are equally unlikely.

3. By "Pax Romana" I was referring to the period of history in which Rome ruled supreme and there was relative peace between the territories within it (27 BC - 180 AD). I was not saying that things were perfect back then, nor was I even commenting on the quality of their rule or of the actual level of peacefulness.

4. You said "if you were Christ". Therefore, I said "in my name" meaning the deeds done in Christ's name. I think that he would be saddened, and I answered as if I were Christ this little thought experiment.

Blessings

WOW, we're really missing one another.,,

1. What about my question wasn't clear? I'll reword it or elaborate.

2. What two scenarios are unlikely?

3. I know what Pax Romana means and what you meant by saying that.

4. I looked through the thread and don't see where I said I was Christ. That isn't something I would normally do, it's kind of more of a "Where's Waldo" type of thing If I were Christ and I went and told everyone I came up to or made it a habit of making that proclamation, how would I know if an individual knew me? Often times I don't remember conversations the next day.

Sorry for the confusion, bare with me. I work hard.

It really is a simple answer, but I am not sure if that is what you are looking for, or maybe you just don't know much about Christianity.

Any Christian (and I am sure some have already shared on this thread) wouldn't do it any different. Why? Because Jesus fulfilled His mission perfectly. There would be no grounds for someone that believes this to think of any other way to do it rather than the way it has already been accomplished.

The question that could get people stirring is: Why did Jesus make so much of an impact in this world?

In peace

Well, if we assume New Testament is correct, then he kind of already did. Though of course most Christian religions expect him to come back and fix things.
