Putting the JW Stand on Evolution in Perspective

There are laws against child workers and people need not work twelve hours a day for six days. I call that much better.
Who told you that?

Most young people today cannot even afford to buy a home.

Just in the UK the numbers of people living on the streets is tallied at 170,000.

Things don't look tghat bright for the future, not anywhere.

Two passages I frequently see creationists cite in defense of their deliberate ignorance...
OK....... let's have a look-see......

1 Corinthians 1:19-27 "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Not bad! I'm no fan of Paul's, quite the opposite, but the above is quite perceptive.

When I look at who some folks are choosing to be leaders, when I see the hurried sea defence works along our coastline here, when I read about the corruption and greed that is being discovered these days, I wonder.

One of the two quotes was enough......... enough.

The Bible doesn't say that those sighing and groaning about World conditions will be marked for survival. It says those sighing and groaning about what is in their midst will be. In their midst means those taking the lead for their own righteousness. IN, not out.

Is this a recent revelation? It was ascertained decades ago that it was about worship not politics.

Ezekiel 9:4-4..."And he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writing case at his waist. 4 And the Lord said to him, “Pass through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.”

Jerusalem was the center of God's worship. The man with the writing case was to pass through Jerusalem, among God's professed worshippers and put a mark on those who were 'sighing and groaning' about 'all the abominations' being done there. Judaism had become so corrupted that those who professed to worship God had given themselves over to commit "abominations"....things that God considered loathsome and disgusting.

Would you like a list of the abominations being carried out by professed Christians in the world today?
Who today is the equivalent to apostate Judaism in Jesus' day? It is Christendom who have the blood of innocents on their hands by condoning and supporting the wars of their nations. (Isaiah 1:15)

It never was about world conditions...it was about the state of Jehovah's worship, now more disunited and disgusting to him than ever before....breaking his laws like no one is watching. (Revelation 18:4; Matthew 7:21-23)

"Then he said to me, “The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. The land is full of blood, and the city full of injustice. For they say, ‘The Lord has forsaken the land, and the Lord does not see.’ 10 As for me, my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; I will bring their deeds upon their heads.” (Ezekiel 9:9-10)

According to that prophesy, judgment is inescapable.

Who told me there is a law against child workers? In England is there no such law? If someone worked 12 hours a day for six days all the time he could by a house but only if he didn't smoke and drink and tattoo and......But, have you ever wondered why some people do abuse themselves that way? Might it be attributed to the spirit of the air which keeps saying, "Jehovah hates you. You're going to die!"

One country isn't the whole World Savage. But our children in the UK are allowed to work for wages....... But our young cannot afford to buy their homes, tenancies have grown enormously in numbers.
And 'no', I've not heard any spirits in the air saying,'Jehovah hates you... etc......

I can see that you no longer believe in the JWs, but are you still a Christian, Savage?

Yes, and I believe so. If you know how to read between the words of The Watchtower magazine, it says that. If you will not come around to Jehovah's Witness thinking God doesn't care about you. But on the bright side, they give you until you die to do it.

People are living longer, healthier lives. Education levels are higher than in history.
How is technology translating over into a more secure, happier society. It isn't.

I think I, my family, my friends, and acquaintances are happier than the average peasant living in 1418 BCE or 1418 CE. Beyond just the basics, I enjoy traveling and flying. I enjoy being able to see relatives who live thousands of miles away. I can converse with them anytime.

People no longer die from smallpox. Plagues like the one that wiped out 1/3 of Europeans, are now isolated and controlled.

And yet, they continue to pop up.
Now we have more insidious diseases, like HIV, heart disease, the many types of cancers, etc.
Do you really believe that people did not get heart disease and cancer 1000 years ago? If so, I'd like to see where you got your information.

And the plague, and Bubonic plague, and cholera, and malaria, and many others, still affect millions.

Not to the extent they did even 500 years ago.

What's your point? Because we haven't fixed everything, everything is worse than it was 2000 years ago? Ridiculous.

I'll repeat it again...
Perhaps you see a lot of pain in the folks in your immediate world - Jehova's Witnesses - and project that pain onto the rest of the world.

No...there's pain everywhere.

Oh...so you've got money. (Living in your own little paradise.)

Explains a lot.

This is what I believe......

This world is a tough place for those who have weaknesses in their spiritual armor. Our spiritual health is directly related to our mental health. The devil does not play fair and needs only a chink to drive in a wedge and keep hammering the message...."you're not good enough....God hates you".

Jesus' message was positive, directed at those who thought they had no chance. He gave them hope, not despair. But no one was free to believe whatever they wanted. There was one truth to be held by all. Christian unity meant no dissenters....no divisions. This is what created Christendom.

The truth is, God hates no one....and no one has to die. He hates wickedness and the breaking of his laws. He never engendered in man an independent spirit. All he ever asked of us humans right from the beginning, was our obedience. Even after the events in Eden he appointed men to lead his worshippers (before the formation of Israel he had the Patriarchs) and expected that they would teach his commands, designed to keep independent thinking in its place.

We do not need to surrender our own will altogether, but to put the doing of God's will before our own. Independence from God or standing apart from his people has never led anyone to a happy and fulfilled life....just the opposite. The truth has to be shared among all, not left up to the opinion of individuals who think they know better. (2 John 9) God does not work that way. Jesus never worked that way. If something needs adjustment, then God will see to it. He does not need us to make a song and dance about any of it. Humility does not need us to go there. Satan will use pride will to keep us outside.

Unlike Israel, we are not born into God's nation...we have to qualify to become part of it, voluntarily. That means that we can also disqualify ourselves......so, we are either in or out. There is no place in the middle....no fence to sit on....you cannot have your cake and eat it too. Seeking refuge in substance abuse never solved any problem, but is guaranteed to make it all worse. God's spirit does not dull your senses.

We choose our own future by what we accept as truth. There can be no doubts. God is never wrong......but we can be. Once you learn the truth, there is no way to "unlearn" it. Realistically, where else is there to go?

The door is not closed until God closes it. (2 Peter 3:9; Luke 15:11-24)

Psalms 146:3 Psalms 60:11 Psalms 118:8 Isaiah 2:22 Jeremiah 17:5 But, the Jehovah's Witnesses are being taught to stay on the fence about all those!

Are you saying that all those men appointed by God to lead his people all down through history should have been ignored? Do you know what happened to those who questioned their God given authority? (Numbers 16:1-3; 23-33)

"Be obedient to those who are taking the lead among you and be submissive, for they are keeping watch over you as those who will render an account, so that they may do this with joy and not with sighing, for this would be damaging to you." Who is this talking about? (Hebrews 13:17)

The slave exists (Matthew 24:45)...its a fact.....but unless you eat what he is serving, you will be eating at the wrong table. There are only two serving "food"....one is poisoned. There is no self-serve option.

Who are those standing out as 'blameless' in amongst a 'crooked' generation? (Phil 2:14-15) We have to figure that out for ourselves by comparing. Blameless does not mean sinless.

Many things have been adjusted over the years, but in Jehovah's due time....many who ran ahead insisting that things be changed according to their understanding, are no longer with us, but their ideas were not wrong.....their reliance on themselves was the problem. Waiting on Jehovah is what the rest of us did....we are all still here. (Micah 7:7) Where are the complainers?

Say what? Hundreds of millions of people travel and visit distant relatives. I guess we are all living in paradise compared to you. So, JW keeps their followers in a level of poverty.

Maybe I and hundreds of millions of others can afford to fly because we don't tithe to cult religions.

Oh, wait. JWs don't tithe...

Rather than giving required tithes and offerings, Jehovah’s Witnesses imitate the early Christians and support their ministry in two ways: by performing their personal ministerial work without pay and by making voluntary donations.

... they just work without pay and make voluntary donations.

More correctly, once someone has been thoroughly indoctrinated, there is little chance of them breaking out into rational thought.

I have already told you more than once that Hebrews 13:17 can't be rightly translated "obey". It says to yield to them. Look up the difference, for goodness' sake!

Also, I have never said not to be led by God's chosen people! But 100% in everything? Come on!

Yield to men like that and submit to them [relatively - you know, like when they are right?] but if you obey them and they are wrong about what you obey, they will keep doing it for YOUR sakes!
