Not sure what you mean

Jesus said to his disciples, "Compare me to something and tell me what I am like."
Simon Peter said to him, "You are like a just messenger."
Matthew said to him, "You are like a wise philosopher."
Thomas said to him, "Teacher, my mouth is utterly unable to say what you are like."
Jesus said, "I am not your teacher. Because you have drunk, you have become intoxicated from the bubbling spring that I have tended."
And he took him, and withdrew, and spoke three sayings to him. When Thomas came back to his friends they asked him, "What did Jesus say to you?"
Thomas said to them, "If I tell you one of the sayings he spoke to me, you will pick up rocks and stone me, and fire will come from the rocks and devour you."

John 4:14
but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

compassion is the source of all things, alpha and omega.

the allegory of the cave. the cave is a limited world view. love leads the blind to the true light; which flows from within self. you are the light of the world, the true sun, a spark of the divine, a star in itself that brightens the lives of All as self.

From my understanding, the former are states of mind, while the latter is a perception of reality.

All are illusory.
It is very interesting that you say that.
How would you explain that for some the same things can cause great agony, while for others they can cause pleasure?
If you assume the first are really a state of mind, why will you suggest they are fiction?
People all over the world experience hell and heaven (as a state of mind). You can have a glance on a person and imminently know which one he experiences.
I can give you a scenario that will show you how the concept of heaven and hell can easily be real in our life time (without using spiritual terms)

What are the qualities of either heaven or hell that is so different from this state in earth?
There is no such state on earth.
Hell and heaven are not something you can see or feel (yet?)
These "places" represent something that relates to your internal thoughts and feeling.
Marriage can be heaven or hell :) not physically, rather conceptually.
There are no physical flames that will burn you on earth :)

Sense-experience of the ego-self.

In my view, "State of mind" is a product of judgment, which, in turn, is a product of the ego-self. The ego-self is illusory. While I can observe it, it does not reflect my true nature. Once the true Self, one's true nature, is realized, judgment is merely an object in consciousness.

Please refer to The Parable of Two Birds in post #16 of this thread.

In terms of Christianity, Earth is God-made but corrupted by both humans and Satan. Heaven is God made and is the final state where humans will live with God and angels. Hell is a natural place with not much decoration from God. This kind of space is usually filed with heat, it's a space between universes.

i like the analogy. friction between heaven and hell

"I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!

love is a consuming fire

this is what the beast will do. he will destroy the cage of the unclean and hateful birds
