i don't see a prohibition on bearing false witness, i thought for sure this was "on the list" for noahides?

edit: ok i'm wrong, i think... i just reviewed what I "thought" was justification for including a prohibition on bearing false witness, and it's not what i thought. however, i would like to read your response on the subject of bearing false witness and the noahide laws, plus, your opinion on the matter, rival.

Surely the prohibition on bearing false witness would be implicit under the Noahide law of establishing courts of law.

in Midrashic literature, we are taught that G-d held Mt. Sinai over the heads of the entire nation and threatened to let go if we don't accept the Torah
I just saw this and it made me LOL. That's a take I haven't heard before. So God basically had to force the Jews to be His people. I like that take as opposed to the other one that makes Gentiles sound like we didn't want to give up our debauchery but Jews freely volunteered. The threatening with the mountain take makes everyone look just as resistant to God, so I prefer it. Lol

This is straight out of the Talmud:
The Torah says, “And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lowermost part of the mount” (Exodus 19:17). Rabbi Avdimi bar Ḥama bar Ḥasa said: the Jewish people actually stood beneath the mountain, and the verse teaches that the Holy One, Blessed be He, overturned the mountain above the Jews like a tub, and said to them: If you accept the Torah, excellent, and if not, there will be your burial.

Ouch! So much for free will.

Hey @Rival remember how fun this thread was for you?
Well...

I was called a liar, brutish, a falsifier of my own religion, a half-day Jew and a demon.

Specifically, I was compared to this guy:

So yeah, it was pretty fun.

This thread is still open for questions, especially now the interlopers seem to have their spiel out of their system.

But mutilating infant boys for no reason what so ever works for you? I am sure you don't understand how difficult it is to learn two ancient languages simultaneously.

USA as the absolute worst educational system in the world , 90% of it's PHD Students are foreign born in that country and they, the ill-educated people dare to comment on my intellect, How about you prove we all descend from a 930 year old Man called Adam whom lived 6000 years ago.

Wow! Really? On your intellect? I would think your ego would have been the talking point.

No, we follow the Seven Noahide Laws, which could more rightfully be designated categories of laws.

Here they are as enumerated by Chabad:

Where were these Noahide Laws first recorded and who, or what, is Chabad?

Acknowledge that there is only one G‑d who is Infinite and Supreme above all things. Do not replace that Supreme Being with finite idols, be it yourself, or other beings. This command includes such acts as prayer, study and meditation.

I've asked you this before but I don't think you gave a very good answer. Why G-d instead of God, and also, does this Supreme Being have a name?

Respect the institution of marriage. Marriage is a most Divine act. The marriage of a man and a woman is a reflection of the oneness of G‑d and His creation. Disloyalty in marriage is an assault on that oneness.

What about divorce and homosexuality? What would be your position on those things?

Chabad is an organisation of Chassidic, Orthodox Jews. It's probably the most well-known. They are, to my knowledge, first recorded in the Talmud. We have knowledge however, that there were people call G-dfearers in ancient Jewish societies. When these first became a known-group I am unsure. Many of them were found in Greece amongst Hellenised Jews.

One is not allowed to erase the name of G-d, so it is not written fully so if it is erased it is no concern. Although this isn't necessarily a requirement in English, it passed from one language to the other and is now just a custom it seems. I do it basically to let people know that I'm not a Christian.

See this short explanation Why "G‑d" instead of "G-o-d"?

Divorce is allowed. Homosexual relations are not allowed.
