That is, do pets have an Afterlife?

Today on the way back from stuff, I noticed our cat no longer had quite the same bounce in her step. She's like 18 or so, and she used to be able to hop up on a porch railing but she couldn't do it today. She barely ate or drank and spent most of her time sleeping and walking to a place to sleep. She may get better after some sleep, or this may be it for her within about a month. So it got me wondering about the above.

Sermon: Do all dogs go to heaven? Yes, and even cats do too

The Catholic church says that animals have sensate souls (that is, they can feel) but not higher souls (they can't think about existence) and for this reason they cannot move beyond this world. The implication of this is that atheists also don't have an Afterlife, because their soul can't (or won't) believe beyond the physical world, and just kinda rot to dust after death. Protestant tradition has it different. They see pets as while having a different quality of soul, they are put on this place to serve and bring joy to humans. The idea is that where humans go, so do their animals, which is why while only humans sinned in Eden, animals were brought outside. The diiference seems to be that for a dog or cat, they have no final judgement because they are kinda just along for the ride. That is, we have knowledge of good and evil, while they kinda just are animals.

Many will reincarnate as (still quite simple) human beings.
Before we ourselves became humans we went through millions of animal incarnations (from those with lower consciousness to those with ever higher consciousness).
The spiritual progress that animals (also humans) make comes through their having to overcome all kinds of obstacles in their lives which increases or expands their consciousness.

The close contact between humans and pets gives this process a tremendous extra boost.
Besides from pets, the "new" human incarnations also come from reincarnating higher evolved animals such as apes, monkeys, dolphins, elephants etc.

So-called "Heaven" is only a very short experience of bliss after a life of service to others, nothing lasting, the souls of people waiting for reincarnation wait in the bossom of God as in deep sleep until they reincarnate in order to reap the reactions to their past actions.

the dusty feet perspective ( jewish mysticism )

? do animals go to heaven ?

they go to a place of "chaos and void", a place and time before humans, gen 1:2 ( animal heaven )

animals do not reincarnate, i think...

every "thing" that exists, every "thing" we can see, and every "thing" we can't... even our words... every "thing" has a soul.

every soul is everlasting

edit: everlasting until nirvannah ? ... i'm still learning ...

If they accept Jesus as Lord and savior, I don’t see why not.

I lost a dog fairly recently, and his best mate is getting old now.
Give your cat some cuddles while you can.

How on Earth would they do that? Which I think bring us to an important part of all this.

The article I linked to seemed to be saying that pets, because they had a simpler soul, it wasn't a matter of them accepting Jesus, more like Jesus was accepting them. They always ask "what about those people before Jesus? What about those ppl are never heard of Jesus? Or who can't answer the call because they live in awful countries?" I think that has to be your answer.

Dogs that bite me dont go to heaven. Ill make sure of it.... kidding.

But, on a serious note.....ive read many near death experiences. About 600 from this site NDERF Home Page

A few of the ones ive read the people going through the tunnel into the light and then into the paradise, had met there animals. One woman said she saw her horse she had had that lived on her farm. She said the horse looked at her and knew she was his owner and the horse was waiting for her.

Another told of meeting there cat.

we recently lost a wonderful puppy minded friend
she was so filling the little empty moments in our lives

so....I had a dream...
in the next life she is not longer a frisbee chasing puppy
she is a fine horse
of the same color markings

and she runs like she did when chasing that frisbee

ride if you dare...!!!!

they had a simpler soul

may i take this one step further

all animal, insect, mineral, and veg-a-tables... they all execute the will of G-d perfectly

theory: this is "why" they don't "need" to re-incarnate
theory: all animal, insect, mineral, and veg-a-tables do **not** have free will, free will is for humans
brainstorm: AI with free-will is human??? hmmmmmmm
brainstorm: AI with free-will is not "alive" but could be a "sentient being"?
brainstorm: AI with free will is still a part of G-d's creation?
brainstorm: AI with free will should be respected. Disrespecting the creation disrespects the "Creator"?

I thought you had to 'accept Jesus' to get into Heaven; how do dogs do that? Wag their tails as they pass a church?

we were typing at the same time, my friend ;)

if, BIG IF, i'm right about free-will... then U are also right... a=b b=c a=c ;)

animals don't need to accept... "accept" doesn't fit for animals ?

thoughts???
