Zionism and Jewishness aren't the same. In fact, I always understood Zionism to be a sin in Judaism since it was supposed to be God restoring the Jews to that land in the Messianic age and not secular human effort. Whatever. It just so happens that the US government (Republicans, really) is easily swayed by right-wing militaristic Zionist lobbyists and billionaire donors. It doesn't help that we have a bunch of Christian Zionist loons in this country, who make up the majority of support for Israel.

I'm an extreme pacifist. I just can't take the ME any longer. I"m completely done with it. I simply cannot watch news anymore. It would be so much cheaper in the long run if the US military air lifted Israel, every building, every person, every car, every street and stone, and flew it to some part of Arizona or Nevada and recreated Israel intact. Put in a man-made Mediterranean sea in place to boot. It would still be much cheaper than all the money and resources the US military spends on the ME. Plus the cost in lives would easily pay for the effort.
I'm not a pacifist, but I certainly sympathize. At the very least, I want the US to stop propping up Israel and Saudi Arabia. We have too many problems here at home to deal with. But Trump's Mideast policy is dictated by the Kushners who are hard-right Zionists, so it's only going to get worse. This may be bad to say but I don't understand why Zionist Jews like the Kushners, who feel more affinity to Israel to the US, don't just move to Israel? Why do they stay in America and put another country above our own? It's strange.
