I just recently converted to Quakerism and I have a few questions...My first is the Quaker star.Where did this symbol come from and does the rotation or color of it matter? My next question is how can i convince my foster parent to let me go to a Quaker meeting? That is all for now I might think of some more later

Also her views aren't really Pentecostal like but that's what she labels herself as so I won't disagree,

I don’t know about the ‘Quaker star’, I just wanted to welcome you here.

(Is there nothing on Google about it?)

She is a strict Pentecostal christian and disagrees with any other type of Christianity.

Well, keep it quiet till you're 18 then, if there is no real dialogue to be had with her about it.

Unless maybe she would be receptive if you told her what the Quaker meetings are actually about.

We actually don't have any regular Quakers on RF, and I don't know about the star. It could be related to the SPICE acronym: Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, Stewardship or SPICES

My next question is how can i convince my foster parent to let me go to a Quaker meeting?
You cannot, however you might ask the meeting to change the time and meeting location to suit you. They might do that. Another thing is to try the online Quaker meeting. There is one for people who cannot get to a meeting. Quaker Center Online Meeting for Worship - Chatzy I have never tried it, don't know what it is like.

There are various Quaker sites. Usually when you are talking with Quakers it will be with reference to their Stewardship component. You will be involved in some kind of community service. There are also retreats where they do things like learn stuff and have picnics. For those you should look up information about yearly meetings. Try searching for info about the "Yearly Meeting" for your area.

Let us know what you find!
