Religious practise

What kind of religious rites do shamanists practise in the every-day-living?

Do for exmple a shaman heal?
- How to they do it, and how do they train their spiritual skills in general?

I have shamanistic practice as part of my witchcraft and it is a wonderful feeling to be in touch with nature! There are many things you can do as a daily practice to open your eyes and heart to the wonderful spiritual forces around you.

Since you asked about healing I will share how I learned to heal others and myself with simple life force techniques and more specifically healing by the will to live!

In order to understand the forces of nature you have to have your eyes open to her magnificent powers! Your eyes and heart will slowly open if you just go out and experience nature for all she is worth! Go out and lightly touch plants and trees and feel the life force inside each creation!

If you are having trouble understanding this concept try closing your eyes while gently holding a tree branch on a windy day. Do you feel that wonderful tree moving in your hand? Can you hear her soft whispers as the wind passes through her leaves? Can you see this inanimate object is a living breathing graceful creature that is dancing with you as you are holding her branch? If you can wake up to the life force within that tree perhaps that very life force that resides in you will wake up too!

If you can find a busy place you can observe from and have a seat. Now empty your mind and watch as the people walk by you, peer into their souls look at their expressions and see how they are feeling. Are they happy? Sad? Content? Lonely? Angry? Spiritually dead or glowing with Spiritual abundance! I hope as you observe the people around you that you can have a connection to the amazing masses of people traveling around you and your eyes opened to the amazing spiritual forces that are emanating from us all as we individually travel through life!

Find a smooth rock if you can and gently hold it, it can tell you a lot of things about the world around you if you ask it! Is it hot? Cold? Wet? Dry? Covered with snow? Has dew on it? Yes as silly as it may seem that majestic rock can tell you so many things about nature and if you can have a connection with that rock and find out that it is a priceless gem that came from Earth as well as yourself you will begin to understand the sacredness of everything!

When you possess the qualities I mentioned above you will find the most precious gift of all: THE WILL TO LIVE!

Tap into this energy if you are ever injured or have illness and use that energy to will yourself or others to health and repair! Remember that your role is NOT to replace medicine but to assist others or yourself to have the will to fight the injury or ailment that happened to you under the care of a medical professional. To understand the power you possess think of life in this term: if one looses the will to live all the medical and equipment technologies our world posses will not be able to save you so stay strong fight the good fight while you care for yourself and are cared for by a medical professional to get you better!

When you have a strong will to live and are in touch with the life forces around you there is nothing under Heaven that can stop you so find that peace and happiness when you can and share it with the ones you meet in love and light for all to see!

Thanks...that is insightful and beautiful outlook.

Do you actually believe that a tree or rock has thoughts, a will, and can communicate with people?

Most earth medicine people with whom I’m acquainted practice giving daily gratitude to the spirits of earth, air, fire and water. They will use water, flowers, tobacco, and sage smoke or Palo santo wood smoke. They may also offer a despacho, which is a gift-wrapped bundle containing tobacco, whea, corn, sweets, etc, that is burned in a fire ceremony. Most will also tend to their light bodies, clearing their chakras and luminous fields, and will meditate daily.

Yes, earth medicine people do healing, clearing of spaces, and other activities in order to bring people and spaces energetically into balance.

I was originally taught Peruvian shamanism, which focuses a great deal on energy healing. Essentially, our bodies (or more correctly, the luminous field surrounding our bodies) contain energy centres, known in the east as Chakras, which contain all the mechanics to help our soul do certain things - the third eye, intution, the root: belonging, heart: love, so on.

Diseases manifest from having spiritual "dirt" in the chakras, causing them to rotate slower or even go the wrong way (counter-clockwise, in this school of thought), and so an experienced shaman can cleanse the areas, or at least identify them so you know what to tell a doctor. My grand-teacher, Roberto Villoldo, saw a dark spot in a patients brain, and she subsequently demanded to have her brain scanned against the advise of doctors who said her symptoms were just stress. Lo and behold, a tumour was found and removed..

In the very worst cases, spirits can possess you through a chakra. This happens if you have the same kind of spiritual injury as the dead: You were both abused by your parents, you have anger issues, difficulty expressing yourself etc. - then the entity can 'suck on' to your soul through the affected chakra. If that happens, you need an exorcism, which a shaman can also attempt.

In conclusion, the Q'ero way is all about balancing energies. The inca say that we're too far removed from our celestial origin to ever be in complete balance, but the more we achieve it, the better our health will be.

You must have studied through the Light Body School? My teacher is a former student/colleague of his, and a student of Dona Alejandra.

So, I talk to as much of it as I reasonably can, when no one else hears. Not only do they understand inflexion but they also, over time, understand words. If I will harvest something, I will comfort what I harvest afterwards (say tree sap, which is good fire starter, or herbs, or other plant life). I even play music for them and occasionally give them small sips of soft drinks or bury small foods in them to give them a nice treat and make the crop better and healthier. I play music for the organisms that hear it.

I also have a statue set up of the science-derived personalities I found centered around a reed essential oil of frankincense and myrrh. Sometimes I burn sage, santo palo, and other commonly available plant stuffs available in my local area. I have felt the feeling the yogis seek by ingesting cannabis which is legal in my area, but I don't believe it necessarily would show that feeling to anyone else, though 1000s of the 1,000,000,000,000s of people of the Earth, would probably. not that you're one of the thousand.

I use aged science and careful speculation to derive my personal religion. I personify science in writing as well so I know it and can recite it to others. I believe in a sort of Monastic Bitheistic (probably soon triastic) Panentheism, where God is the consciousness of the universe and we are God's body, resulting in a dualsitic two entities, The Nothing that created us, and Everything else, who are ultimately one thing, Nature thus being Monastic, Dualsitic, and like I said, probably soon, Triastic.

I essentially say, because Science has proven, that the monotheist God, the polytheistic Gods, and the Animating Force are all just Nothing AND Nature, together, Space-Time and Everything else, The Void and it's Substance, that which is infinitely within you (internal) and without you (external), which is also yourself. Nothing is the Maker, and Everything else is his coequal partner together coalescing together ultimately constructively making up the great beauties of what amounts to the Sky.
