We Are All Born Muslim

sojourner

Annoyingly Progressive Since 2006
A small correction, @sojourner Islam means surrender/submit. It does NOT mean "peace". A small, but important, distinction.
I thought so, but someone else mentioned earlier that it meant peace. Nonetheless, how can one submit to the God of peace, if they’re committing violence?

we are all born Muslim..

And we are all born speaking the Holy language of the Prophet, Arabic until we learn the language of our parents who by adulthood have forgotten that they too were born muslim and forgotten their birth language as well...........................

We do already have those words its God. Call it what you want and ill do the same. Boom.. Now we are both happy.

See, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Originally you defined God as simply the force of life. NOW you're adding that God ALSO means the universe and love and perhaps a whole host of other words.

I believe very differently than the OP, but I don't really see how someone stating that everyone is born Muslim is any more offensive than the doctrine of Original Sin.

Given the choice, I prefer to be told that I was a Muslim as a baby than to be told that I was born carrying a "spiritual disease" or "spiritual defect" and that only Christianity has the cure - Jesus.

Mind you, I believe that both are simply false, but I just don't understand what was said in this thread that warrants so many people ganging up on @AdamRaja.

If I see a Christian posting such a thread, you can count on me to start ganging up on him.

I'm sure everyone will all agree that we are all born Muslim..
lol jk

In Islam everyone is born a Muslim and it is his/hers parents (along with social circles) that bring the child away from Islam.

The Prophet (saws) said that every child is born in Fitrah. In Islam this means a state of purity and connection to God.

When I say God I mean the ultimate force that gives us life not a bearded guy in the clouds.

In Islam it is not looked at as a religion but just the natural way of life. We are the worlds most looked down upon and knowing that raises me up.

It doesn’t matter what someone said. It matters what is actually true. First, you have to demonstrate that your god exists, then you can try and demonstrate that your prophet is speaking for this god. I have no idea how you could possibly do either, since people have tried for more than a century and have failed.

Can you honestly point to 2 times where that has happened? I don't recall seeing it happen before and I have mentioned this to you before, IIRC, as well.

I don't recall seeing a Christian post such a thread. But if they did, I'd respond. (Perhaps it's been done in forums I don't follow?)

Consider the human rights violations in Muslim majority countries and then consider that the OP is claiming that all people are Muslims.

...Seems stalkish.
