What is Love ?

What's the difference? Unless you think it can't happen in reality. After all if we start describing other people we are bound to make mistakes and if we describe ourselves we are bound to become misunderstood.

Because in reality a person who gives very little doesn't truely love the other. it a very limited love that only lasts as long as everyone is happy.

Would love to hear your opinions theories and personal experiences on this question. So what is love Is it real? Is it fake? What's your opinion, what's your theory, what's your experience?

I've never experienced love in the emotional psychological sense until I met my friend of 13 years so far. I met her on a dating site in about early 2000 when they were popular (and only a few ways us LGBT isolated people) can really date without jumping hoops.

Anyway, we met. We didn't click cause she wanted children etc and I did not. But I did found that love with a mature person can come in many forms. When you trust someone to give them your body and mind, that trust is love. When you enjoy being around that person's company that comfort feeling is love. When you generally and intimately care about that person's wellbeing, that care is love. When you can disagree without leaving, that maturity is love.

She is dating now. Love is supporting your friends even if you are a bit jeleous (don't tell, haha). It's not more a abstract feeling but a literal action and relationship. Last month I was short some money for the last week of the month to where I barely had food. I got paid in two days then before my mother helped me out. My friend gave me a couple dollars or so until payday. I nearly cried if not did.

It wasn't more the money itself but the act and care of giving me something I didn't even ask for. I have seizures and every time I needed to go to the hospital, she was there.

Love is very multifaceted. You can't find it in a book. You can't find it on a sofa. It's a literal relationship with life and self and people that it uplifts your wellbeing. I don't use the term love because it's so misused. But, in that sense love is gratitude.

because people dont know what real love is? dont let ppl actions sway you from what love actually is.

That is what i'm trying to say more or less. Love is a recognition that the other person is actually a part of me and i should give as much as i could to the relationship to help keep it alive. In the beginning it's nice but eventually you have to work hard to keep it and build it to make it stronger.

Depends whose love.

Since love cannot be measured it cannot be compared objectively.

I believe in most cases where love occurs in the world it is mere affection far gone.

Love is emotion. Emotions can be observed on a functional MRI, the strength of emotions give different results, so it seems love can be, at least, crudely measured

Love is the substrate of all existence. Love is an attitude towards life originating in your very existence. It exists even in a state of emotional sadness, or even anger. It is beyond and before emotions. It is the condition of our being, regardless of states of emotions. Yes, I have experienced that, and can recognize the difference between that and emotional states. It is radically of a different order than emotional states.

What causes the chemicals that you experience as an emotion to switch on?
The environment, as well as your thoughts.
Does that just happen on their own, and we're just along for the ride, such as laughing for no reason? "Sorry, that was just my chemicals?"
I think there's a disorder that causes something like that to happen. Something about laughing or crying at inopportune times.
