Banned Mormon Cartoon

Again: what you presented here is one of many interpretations of the Bible. Many people, after many years of study, have come to many different conclusions, all based off the same verses. There is no universal agreement at all.

Now, you can of course believe that one interpretation is right and the others are wrong-- that's perfectly in your rights to do so. I myself have my own beliefs in that regard. But you or I or anyone else is never going to convince someone of that via arguing (which I've seen countless people try to do). Rather, Truth is testified of by the Spirit, so the best any of us can do it to be loving & kind to each other (which is the opposite of arguing), and let the Holy Spirit do it's thing when the time is right.
I get what you're saying here, that the best way to be a good witness for the Lord is to be loving & kind to each other. The question is, how does that look in practical terms. Would you say that a Doctor who discovers cancer in his patient should send him away without telling him the awful truth?

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is highly offensive to all unbelievers and those who haven't been converted yet. They want to hear that there's something good in them and all we need to do is love them and be kind to them and that good will grow into true faith and they will become true believers.

The Gospel doesn't say that there's anything good in a man, it tells us that we are all born into depravity and we continue to sink deeper into depravity and sin as we live. It tells us that we are dead in our sins and trespasses and as dead people we cannot do anything to save ourselves so God must do the saving.

The Bible teaches that salvation is of the Lord, He is the One who takes the first step by opening the persons spiritual eyes so they will respond by believing the Gospel when they hear it, while the person who God leaves in their blindness will never believe the Gospel because it's spiritually discerned.

Some of the worlds brightest scientific minds and many of the smartest people in the world, reject the Gospel as foolishness. The Bible says that "the Word of God is foolishness to those who are perishing", so it has nothing to do with how smart you are. Everything about salvation depends on God. If He doesn't draw the person to Himself, the person will remain trapped in their blind sinful state so this means that only the elect of God shall be saved, the rest are sealed for damnation.

Many have tried to water down this hard Bible doctrine, but there's no way of changing the truth of the Gospel. It took me many years to finnaly understand the truth and accept it, I was struggling between my natural mind and the Holy Spirit. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit is irresistible, He eventually conquers the person and causes him to become a true believer.

So, it's no use trying to appeal to a person carnal nature and present spiritual things and present the Gospel in a way that gives them the option of choosing to follow Christ. When we go door knocking, we present the Gospel by asking the person who Jesus is to them and what their relationship is with Him and if they believe that He is God. We get to the point quickly because we try to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel. We don't get into debates with people, who don't believe that he is God.

The first step to being loving and kind to another person is to acknowledge and listen to them. You must first see the person you're talking to. And you must show them respect-- even if you think their beliefs are trash.

A ridiculously common error done by people trying to share thier beliefs is hat they show up on someone's doorstep (literally or figuratively) and just try to shove what they believe to be true down the person's throat. That's not being loving, that's not being a doctor, and the only reaction you're going to get that way is for them to slam the door in your face. And with all due respect to you personally, that's pretty much the approach you've taken on this thread.

Rather, a much better approach is to be there as a servant: to listen to the other person, to respect them, and just generally show them you see/care about them. Then the door is open for them to see Christ's light reflected in you, and eventually have a quality conversation about beliefs.

You must rebuke anyone as a false prophet (we stoned false prophets and we should still do it) who comes and claims that they heard extra revelation from God.
Those who opposed Jesus had the same attitude and look what happened to them.

Fanaticism doesn’t prove anything, it only draws attention to a message you wish to suppress.

I'm not sure what your point is, you do realize that the followers of Christ are radical disciples. His message was radical and most people hated Him because He revealed the truth about them to them. I see exactly the same thing here, people don't want to know the truth about themselves, everyone wants someone to lie to them and tell them they're OK while the reality is the Bible says that everyone is born a fallen and totally depraved sinner.

It's very easy to lie to folks and tell them they're going to heaven and end up with their blood on my hands when they are cast into hell.

And Paul the Apostle makes here:
13 If I speak in the tonguesa]" style="box-sizing: border-box">[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poorand give over my body to hardship that I may boast,b]" style="box-sizing: border-box"> but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
-- 1 Corin 13, NIV
@Dragonslayer , you lack love in your approach. You have continually belittled/insulted others, been prideful, and quick to anger. Because of your approach, it doesn't matter how Godly your message is: you and your words are only a clanging cymbal.

If you truly are worried about people going to Hell and their blood on your hands, you need a HUGE change of heart compared to the person you have been on this thread. Ditch the pride, ditch the insults, cause your actions here are driving people away from your faith at 200 mph.

I have never exhibited any pride so I have no idea where you got that notion, I have never insulted anyone so I have no idea where you got that notion. I'm not interested in converting anyone to my faith, that's not what I have been called to do. The Saints of God have been called to go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that's all I ever do.

I'm not trying to do anything apart from share the Gospel with the lost sheep. Every single one of Gods elect will be saved, so I have no fear that any will be left behind. I'm not concerned about the reprobate, they will never believe and their fate was sealed before they were even born so I don't care about them or their insults or accusations.

The Saints of God only have one purpose and that's to spread the Gospel and proclaim the truth of Gods Word. Doing that is the greatest act of love, the reprobate hate God and His Gospel message so they can never offend me by their insults or blasphemy. I have inherited eternal life in paradise so nothing can take my reward away from me and I feel pity for the unbelievers because they are totally blind.

I would like you to define the word "love" since you accuse me of not loving. If a doctor detects cancer in a patient, is he being unloving for telling them the awful truth. I'm not going to pretend everything is fine while around 140,000 unbelievers are cast into hell every day.

The greatest act of love is to share the Gospel with someone, it's far more valuable than giving a hungry person a loaf of bread. The Gospel is the bread of heaven, it's the greatest gift you van give anyone. Only those who God elected for salvation before the world was made will respond by believing the Gospel, the rest will reject it so I have no problem with rejection. It just demonstrates that the hearer is not of the elect.

We don't know who the elect are, only God knows that so we preach the Gospel to every creature and it's not our job to convert anyone. God is the only One who can convert the person and make them believe for all are dead in their sins and trespasses until He brings them to life.

Insults: Let's start with your very first post here: "It's hard to resist calling Mormons Morons, it's hard to believe that people who actually have a brain would fall for such an outrageous fantasy. They prove that man will believe anything if the sales tactic is deceptive enough." Need I add more?

Pride: Exhibit A) Your attitude of "I don't have time to listen to what others believe" but you was every to not only listen to what you believe but drop everything and adopt it. Or B) All of your "If a doctor..." quotes. Dude, God is the doctor, and to you. You are just a kid who's attended med school for 2 hours (As are the rest of us). Quit pretending to be God (the doctor) and instead get in your student chair. Need I add more?

There is NO love for anyone but yourself in your actions here.
I'm not interested in converting anyone to my faith, that's not what I have been called to do.
And yet your pridefully make quotes pretending you're the doctor of things like "[they'll] end up with their blood on my hands when they are cast into hell." Need I add more examples? How about "I'm not trying to do anything apart from share the Gospel with the lost sheep" from this very post?
The Saints of God have been called to go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that's all I ever do.
And you have epically failed in that mission. Due to your lack of love you have becoming nothing but a clanging cymbal driving people away from those beliefs you hold so dear.

The only thing I'm trying to do is share the Gospel with everyone, people are offended when I point out aspects of the Gospel and apply it to them. There is no nice way to reveal the truth to unbelievers, they will always be offended because the Gospel is highly offensive to unbelievers.

You may interpret what I say as being judgmental, prideful or unloving but I deny all of those accusations. You're actually judging me and you're not showing any love yourself. If someone claimed that what I believe is false, I would listen to them and allow them to explain themselves.

Nobody has presented any evidence to show what I believe to be wrong, so until such time I will continue to believe. There is only one truth and when a person finds it, they can confidentially dismiss everyone else's opinion as wrong. It might come across as being prideful or arrogant but we expect others to react that way.

Why would anyone on here talk to you about that?

You have beyond proven that you don't care about the other people on here or their views. Your stance in this post "oh I didn't do anything wrong or insult anyone, I'm just the victim here" once again proves that.

Why stop there? What stops you from calling for the deaths of their followers as well?
After all, they carry the original message further and often elaborate on it.
What about outright nonbelievers in your God and your scriptures?

Are we human beings or dragons to slay?

Human history is filled with the followers of true prophets killing the followers of false prophets and the righteous crusader bringing his sword down on the evil nonbeliever.

Do you really want to go there?

If you believe your faith is worth killing anybody over then please start with yourself.
We were commanded to kill people for certain crimes like rape and murder, but as man becomes more sinful and depraved he lowers the standards of the law.

I believe we should go back to executing people fro things like Sodomy and adultery and witchcraft. Many sins are punishable by death, but sinful men have tried to water them down and make them acceptable. God is still the same and He will cast them into hell, regardless of what sinful man does.

We are at war with Islam, the Christian west is at war with Islam. The members of ISIS are true Muslims, they are obeying the Koran which tells them to conquer the whole world by force.

The Coalition forces have been battling the Islamists for 17 years, we are trying to stop Islam from taking over the world. I forgot the verses in the Koran which command all true Muslims to convert everyone to Islam and behead all those who refuse.

I have some moderate Muslim friends who escaped Syria, they were targeted because they weren't as devout as the proper Muslims who call themselves IS. I can google all the verses in the Koran which command the true believer to conquer the whole world by force. So I believe we have the right to kill anyone who is out to kill us, if you can prove that someone is coming after you you should have the right to kill the preemptively.

We were commanded to kill people for certain crimes like rape and murder, but as man becomes more sinful and depraved he lowers the standards of the law.

We were also commanded to refrain from killing people. 'Thou shalt not kill' etc. And what did Jesus say about turning the other cheek? Seems you're in a rush to ignore the words of your own deity.

Fortunately the laws of most Western countries are made by civilised, educated people; not savages who think we still live in the Dark Ages. I'll go along with this barbarous opinion of yours so long as you don't object to being thrown to the lions or being nailed to a cross yourself because of your beliefs. Or to having your churches torched by rampaging mobs of non-believers or turned into temples/mosques.

Oh but I suppose you'd love that because you'd get to play the part of the pious victim.

The commandment, "thou shall not kill" actually refers to murder. So it means thou shall not murder
According to Strong's Concordance, of the 47 uses of râtsach, רָצַח which is the word translated in the 5th or 6th commandment to mean kill/murder, in the Bible only 17 reference murder. In all the others (30) it references killing with no connotation of being unlawful. So it's really a matter of translator preference as to how the word is converted. However, "kill" is by far the most common rendition.

That you contend the killing is a specific form, murder, will require evidence. What ya got?

Not your average Mormon
Christ and His Angels will destroy our enemies and then they will all stand before Him when He resurrects them for the final judgement where He will cast Satan and His Demons and all unbelievers into the lake of fire where they will be tormented day and night forever.
Then may I respectfully suggest that you leave it up to Him to do so? Despite what you may think, He's fully capable of handling the situation without your assistance.

I know some of what is said here is true of the faith, but is all of it pretty much on point?

If not, what has it got wrong?

.

Some dude not that long ago invented mormonism. You could be a dude that invents something else. Some people will follow you and some people will follow Joseph. The entire tale is a story. By definition a story is a human invention. These tales are human stories. Fictional stories. (They seem to be the most powerful kind)

People are attaching things to their identity and filtering the world based on those attachments. Left vs Right, Mormons vs Muslims, Catholics vs Protestants, Trump vs Sanders or Hillary whatever... None of those things define a person but people like to think they do and act as such.

Its stories all the way down. In a 1000 years no one will care if you supported trump or were muslim or even know who you were unless you actually do something important so stop pretending these nonsensical views are as important as what actual people did a 1000 years ago that we still remember and build upon. (Think Edison, Tesla etc)

You are screaming at your relatives that Trump is a monster thinking that makes you on the same level... stop wasting time.
