Connecting to Satanism

SatanicNewb1231

Finally found a home
I've just discovered that I am, indeed, a Satanist. I'm reading books and websites, but I have so many questions. What would you all suggest as the best sources, books, texts, etc. to look for answers? And I know a Coven isn't necessary to be a Satanist, but how would one find one if they were so inclined with the often secretive nature of our religion?

I wouldn't join up with anyone right away. Maybe later when you know what you want.

The most important suggestion I can give you is stop reading and start doing. If you feel there is a Satan, and his nature appeals to you pray to him daily. If you are having a difficult time in your life work with demons and even appeal to them for assistance, do anything to get experience. No one is going to take your soul away, so get your hands dirty. The only way to establish the value anything in the path is to live it.

Once you know what appeals to you then you will be more than qualified yourself to answer these questions. The O.S. forums are good and probably have more people who can directly answer any other questions you have. It's pretty much a sister forum to this one, but the conversations there are a bit less moderated.

It'd help to know what type of Satanist you are or whatever you're leaning towards (theistic, devil worship, atheistic, pantheism, luciferianism, etc)? One great source for theistic Satanism is Joy of Satan. This organization only believes in a separate pre-abrahamic Satan who was worshiped as the god creator in ancient times, it doesn't believe in anything abrahamic such as the biblical Devil and Jesus. This source is used (or at least admitted to be useful) by both theistic and non-theistic Satanists due to its vast library of information on spirituality in general and theistic Satanist practices.

I couldn't agree more with @Mindmaster. It's best you start alone and experiment with different schools of thought until you have a broader understanding. Research and study, knowledge is very important when it comes to LHP religion/philosophy. If you have a negative fix to the character of Satan, Lucifer, or other deities then it's wise to rearrange your perspective, having any doubt or fear in your subconscious will yield no results.
