As an aside to my rant there are about 33,000 different Christian
denominations all reading the same book.
Which one is right? Take your pick.
Like I said opinions vary as do interpretations of Biblical scripture.

Jesus had eyewitness to his resurrection and they held to the story even when faced with death
But there are many more reasons, for example
- God valued at 30 pieces of silver not being the least
as said by Zechariah

Denominations are rather a variation in knowledge instead of the message of salvation. Humans seek knowledge as science blooms. The more the denominations are the more the intact message of salvation can penetrate. To put it another way, through the many denominations you, with a knowledge seeking mind, will be able to find one suiting your skull the most. As long as you can choose one, you will be saved by the message of salvation which remains the same throughout most denominations. It's because the many denominations never matter, what matters is the same message of salvation embedded in those many denominations. The few denominations which failed to convey the same message of salvation are deemed heresies instead of denominations.

... out on my Odyssé — again!
Go ahead, give it your best shot. Make a convincing arguement that Jesus was the Messiah. Like Paul was doing as he traveled around the civilized world.

Acts 28:23 So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul's lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening.

Just a side note: Paul probably tried to convince Jews that Jesus was not a failed Messiah. A "Messiah" is simply a king elected by God, according to the Jewish tradition, Moses was a Messiah, Saul was a Messiah, David, Esra, Judas Maccabee, Herod the Great etc., etc.. What he had to do was to explain why Jesus, who was allegedly dead, and not a living successor was the real Messiah. He had to prove this spiritual-Messiah-stuff, that he was ruling from the right-side of God in Heaven, and to refer to the proper places in the Old Testament.

I like the lead in to Isiah 53
Isaiah said 'here I am' once' to God in chapter Isaiah 6:8 but God will say it 4 times
Once in chapter 52 God says you will know 'Here I am" in context of the suffering servant Isaiah 52:6
Once in chapter 58 God promises to say 'Here I am" to the repentant Isaiah 58:9
Twice God says it using the doubling emphasis "Here I am; Here I am" to a people not made .... i.e gentiles who believe in Jesus. in Isaiah 65:1 to a people who did not seek me.

God is shouting 'Here I am, here I am!' to the gentiles in Christ.

there were little m messiahs but thy all point to the big M Messiah

as Daniel 9:24-26 does saying prophesy will be sealed up, righteousness ushered in and the Messiah dies

or as Ezekiel speaks of 'the prince" and 'the prince's temple" being prominent

I find interesting that in Ezekiel God says I myself will be a good shepherd as opposed to these bad shepherd and finally says 'I will set David over them as shepherd' Definitely points to Jesus and a divine Jesus at that see Ezekiel 34:10 Ezekiel 34:11 Ezekiel 34:12 Ezekiel 34:13 Ezekiel 34:14 Ezekiel 34:15 Ezekiel 34:16 God himself will shepherd the sheep
and the kicker Ezekiel 34:23-24 where David will shepherd the sheep

All true in the good shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep, the King - Jesus Psalm 22, 23, 24
