Updating the Genesis Creation Story

God comes at me in an unexpected direction...I find that this corresponds with Abram/Abraham's experience...I see that modern scholarship is moving in the same direction...it seems that all roads lead where I am walking...

What else do I have before God but my life, its sense of joy and fulfillment and my understanding of what He is telling me both through the Word and in all other areas of my life? What do you have outside of the same?

This is my word for you...do you think that what the Bible teaches is literal history? If so, does it spell that history out in clear and certain terms in all cases? If not, if you could travel back in time and be a witness yourself to what happened, then would you not have the grounds for resolving all these questions? If this is sound then you know that there is one source of truth that is greater than what the Bible contains...what has actually happened in God's creation.

If you can take this step the rest will follow...
What about testing the spirits? Do you believe any spiritual encounter must be God? Or have you given thought to the possibility that malevolent spirits influence and give direction to people who are open to accepting any spiritual contact?

Is there a spiritual certification program i should know about?

My encounters led me to faith.

I don't believe in literal spirits outside the experience of the human psyche.

Certainly, if God is God and sovereign, then God guaranteed they got it right.

Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit God dangled in the middle of the garden, the first child was murdered by the second, the first tablets given to Moses were smashed, not to mention all the great natural and human causes cataclysms of history...how convenient that we can be assured the Bible with its incongruent lives of Jesus is without error cause, you know, that would never happen.

You just contradicted yourself. And no, the genealogies appear to be made up. There is no reason to assume that one was for Joseph and another for Mary. The contradictory nativity stories appear to have been concocted merely to get Jesus born in Jerusalem.

You prove yourself to be totally ignorant to the scriptures that you so violently attack in your ignorance.

Subduction Zone wrote...…. The contradictory nativity stories appear to have been concocted merely to get Jesus born in Jerusalem.

The Anointed....... To begin with, the genealogy in Matthew which is that of Joseph the son of Jacob, who married the already pregnant Mary, does not contradict the genealogy in Luke which is that of Jesus the son of Joseph who was the son of Heli.

And if you think that the nativity stories appear to have been concocted merely to get Jesus born in Jerusalem, then you prove to be not only ignorant to the scriptures but also blind to the written word, the nativity stories reveal that Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judah and not in Jerusalem.

You really know nothing about the bible that you attack, do you?

Please, you are in not making yourself look foolish when you grasp at straws in such a manner. There is no reason to claim that one fake genealogy is Mary's line and the other is Joseph's. In fact it was argued the other way around by some in the past. In reality we know that the nativity stories, which contradict each other, we're made up nonsense. The one in Like contradicts itself since he has Jesus being born both in roughly 4 BC and 6 AD.

your ignorance of your book of myths is rather appalling.

Before the beginning there was the Nothing-Yet of Infinite Potential. It was "nothing yet" because
nothing-yet had been created. It was potential because it could become something. And It was infinite
because there was nothing yet to stop it.
I think you might find it was mercury.

Mercury ???
`Nothing-Yet` predates `God`, doesn't it, but what created `Nothing Yet` ?
Confusing isn't it ?
But....Mercury ???

oooops......

the famous quote.....I AM!
is profound

THE cornerstone of existence.

I see no means to make it greater

I have attempted to look into the backstory of I AM and reveal that it was a process, only partially conscious, of an actor attempting to develop a sense of self-assurance (self-sustaining, self-replicating system). It is the God of systems arriving at an evolutionary stage where self-assurance and a new level of creation had a solid platform.

I've also tried to hint that no creator works without his or her clay and there is another presence that is implicit to God's coming into His own, His I AM name.

This sets the basis for understanding creation as an unfolding of creative, adaptive systems. I would argue that Stuart Kauffman's notion of God as the creator God of emergent systems makes a deeper sense in terms of today's science than a God who created and then walked away. This way God can act via a systemic development at all layers of reality and at all times in history.

This also brings the character of God in line with his interactions with his patriarchs who sometimes get a new name once they themselves have reached a critical point in their personal development.

reach a little deeper.....all the way into the void
when darkness was upon the face of the deep (scripture)

it is a mystery....to say I AM.....
prior to the creation

hey Thief,
I'm curious...how can `I am` be previous to the `void` that was in the `deep` of the nothingness that was the face of the creation ?

That even confused me a little more than average !

Not-Yet = the Void = Nothing

Chaos = Nothing w/ Potential

The Nothing-Yet of Infinite Potential is a non-name like Odysseus calling himself Nobody. It evidences the mystery and problem of self-reference in a rational system.

Ahhh...the popcorn kettle of the Cosmos...never ending !
Oh to swim that pond of nothingness into the void, forever !
See the ripples there among the galactic boulders we trod ?
It's a shame that one can't take one's awareness with one !

It may be our very language with words associated with objects and actions and inner states that creates this confusion.

I've been thinking about how to create a story that incorporates self-awareness and the process of the Nothing-Yet becoming not just God but Mr. and Ms. God plus the rest of the divine family with angels in their wake. This sets the stage for the whole War in Heaven. Also with Jesus as Gods favorite angel and Lucifer as Ms. God's favorite angel...the opportunity for reconciliation...

The Anointed……… From “The Ancestors of Jesus in First and Second Century Judea BCE”
By Robert Mock M.D.
December 2007.
Book One
Chapter Two we learn that this young maiden, Miriam, was a child of sorrow. Her father, Heli, a Davidic and Hasmonean prince, called Alexander Helios III, was apparently executed, in the world where many Davidian aspirants, as the “young lions of Judah”, were eliminated by the cruel and tyrannical King Herod the Great., Etc.

The great grandfather of the biblical Jesus was Yehoshua/Jesus III, who was the high priest in Jerusalem from 36 to 23 BC and is believed that his term as high priest ended when he was murdered at the orders of Herod the Great. It is also recorded that the grand-father of Mary died three years before her birth in 20 B.C.

Herod the Great died in 4 B. C, when Mary was 16, and Herod had ordered the death of all the boys who were two years and below, in other words all the boys who were born in and after the year of 6 B.C, when Mary the mother of Jesus was 14 years old.

"Astronomy, Astrology, and the Star of Bethlehem." BY John Clevenger of the Lake Country Astronomical Society," which says as follows, "Did any unusual astronomical phenomenon occur between 8 and 2 BC? As it happens there were several notable celestial events during that period. The Chinese reported two comets during that time. The comet of 5 BC which was visible for 70 days, was reported to have a tail. Professor Humphreys of Cambridge University believes that this comet, which he describes as having a vertical tail, appeared at the time of the Jewish Passover. Professor Humpherys believed that this started the Magi, who were knowledgeable of the Jewish prophecy recorded in the book of Micah, concerning the birth of a Jewish king, on their journey.

If right about the vertical tail, this could agree with the biblical account in Matthew that the "Star Stood Over" [The House] where the young child was". In ancient literature the term “STOOD OVER” refers to comets and comets only.

The comet of 4 BC had no tail and whether it was a comet or a nova is unknown. If it was a nova in 4 BC, which is the death of a star, it would have coincided with the death of Herod the Great in that same year.

I could also use any of a number of authorities to supply evidence of the 6 BC triple conjunction of the "King Planet" Jupiter, with Mars, the “God of War” and Saturn the “God of Time,” who brings the golden age of peace to the earth, which I believe was seen by the wise men as the sign that was prophesied to herald the birth of the promised King, who was to succeed to the throne of David the warrior king, as the prophesied Messianic King of Israel, who is to come and subdue the surrounding Nations and bring in the golden Age of one thousand years of peace.

It was the comet of 5 BC, which was seen by professor Humpherys as the star that started the wise men on their journey to Jerusalem. Comets in those days, were called “Hairy Stars.” It was this star that guided the wise men who were believed to be Astronomer, Astrologers from the land of Mesopotamia to Jerusalem in Judaea.

The title "wise men" is translated from the original Greek word magos. The word refers to a priest of the Persian religion Zoroastrianism. These priests, or magi, frequently looked to the stars for signs of the future and gained an international reputation for astrology and revelation/divination.

It is more than probable that the "wise men" were in fact Zoroastrian priests from Persia. And as there was a sizable Jewish presence in Babylon at that time, they obviously studied the old Hebrew scriptures.

The Bible also states that when the magi found the child Jesus, they "fell down and worshiped him." This verse references or indicates bowing, kneeling or prostration, which was generally viewed by both the ancient Jews and Romans as undignified, and in Jewish tradition was reserved for their God alone. However, for Persians, bowing or kneeling was a sign of respect generally directed toward kings.

Having witnessed in 6 BC, the conjunction of the "King Planet" Jupiter, with Mars, the god of war, and "Saturn the god of time, who brings in the golden age of peace to the earth," which I believe was the star that had heralded the birth of Jesus, because it appeared two years before the death of Herod the Great in April of 4 BC, and as two years and below, was the age of the children that Herod commanded to be slaughtered just before his death, which age was in accordance with what he had learned from the wise men as to the exact time that they had seen the star that had heralded the birth of Jesus, which had to be around 6 BC. See Matthew 2: 16.

You could not be more wrong. You really have no clue when it comes to your book of myths which is why you have such a poor understanding of it.

No, by other uninformed Christians, like you. You should look into the history of the interpretation of your book of myths.

Genealogy of Jesus - Wikipedia

That article not only explains how both Matthew and Like have been argued to be Mary's line in the past, but also how both lines are of Joseph, one being biological and the other being legal. When you know very little you should never accuse others of not knowing.

Subduction Zone wrote……. In reality we know that the nativity stories, which contradict each other, we're made up nonsense.

I am speaking of honest people that are not afraid to learn. Again, when you know next to nothing and cannot support your beliefs you should not make false accusations about others.

This spiel has nothing to do with the topic I brought up. The nativity in Like has Jesus born in both roughly 4 BC and in 6 AD. If you can get over your fear and ask properly and politely I will gladly explain the error to you.
